Thank you for showing off the BIG Blue, keep more of them like this coming please. I started disking with a 9600 and a 21 ft disk at age 9 for my Dad. Over the years we all had a 4000,8000,2-9000's, 2-9600's and a TW-20. Like many here have said tough as nails tractors that don't take a back seat to any other brands. Many a good memories that I wouldn't trade for anything and make me who I am today.

The Ertl 9600 was a monster in 1/12 scale compared to the 1/16 Deere and IH toys. 👍👍👍

A neighbor of mine here in Aus had one of these 9600’s. He would have been one of the roughest butchers on machinery, especially tractors, in the Southern Hemisphere, and yet this 9600 he had took all the abuse he dished out to it and kept going. I can only conclude that the 9600 model must be amongst the toughest tractors ever made . Regards from Down Under.

I have a very similar story. Farmer near me had a super nice operation back in the 70's. At that time we had a very good Ford dealer in the area. Almost everything he had was Ford. The guy died unexpectedly. His son took over the operation. He was hooked on drugs, a terrible alcoholic. Really Sad! He did farm for several years. Untill a motorcycle crash disabled him. All that Ford equipment was sold at auction. Several of those big Ford tractors. Everyone at the sale was just amazed at how horribly abused it all was. All bent to hell, left outside, faded and rusted, seats rotted off. Dashes tore up. Gauges not working. Obviously, had received very little, if any maintenance. But yet was all still being used. Ford lost their share of the market alright. But I don't think it was the durability of their equipment was to blame. Especially their tractors

Man this brings me back. Had a 8600 back when I was growing up that actually had a 9600 engine in it due to the first engine's block cracking. One of the coolest part of that tractor was that it ran a little rich and when it was on the silage blower at night you would see about a 6 inch flame coming out of the stack when it was really working hard

First new tractor my Dad bought. Still have the beast. It was rebuilt probably 34-35 years ago and was upgraded with the 150 pto horse power package due to other repairs to the cylinder head it probably makes closer to 175-180 pto horse power now and it still does some field work although limited as we sold our dairy cattle and my father passed away in December of 2010. It has axle mount dual wheels and a thousand pounds of weight on the front. It could have upto 1600 pounds of weight on the front as an option as it has the large 11.00-16 front tires. It is equipped with the dual power trans. It is also an open station tractor with rops and the optional sun canopy shade. We pulled a 22 ft. White wing disc, 6 bottom John Deere on land plow, New Holland 195 manure spreader, New Holland 900 forage harvester chopping hay and corn silage, and still pulls a 17 ft. Hutchmaster rolling plow (offset disc).

Fords are definitely great tractors! We farm with Fords with an 8n, 4000, 7600, and 9700. (The 8n is a show tractor but we sometimes rake with it). However, we spread fertilizer, plant, rake hay, spread manure, plow, disc, mow. Pretty much anything you need to do on a farm, we do it with all fords!

I grew up with Fords and A-Cs on our farm. Those Fords included an 8N, a 3000 and an 8000. The 8000 was used when Dad bought it and it had had an M&W turbo added a few hundred hours prior to us getting it. I added an Ansel cab with A/C to it in the early 80s. Spent many hours on the 8000 each spring doing tillage. Loved those 8000/9000 and 8600/9600 series. Great tractors.

I bought my first Ford 8000 in 1969.
When I was 20 years old.
I had been farming my grandfather's farm of 125 acres since Jr in highschool school..
The Ford 8000 tractor had 105 HP.
It only ran on 5 gallon an hour plowing with the 5. Bottom plow,
    which was very economical.
I pulled a 5.bottom plow, 18 foot disk with the tractor.
I was renting 275 acres and working the soil on dad's farm of 145 acres.
After a couple years of use I put M and W turbo on it given it around 130 hp,
with out turning up the pump on it.
Ford 8000 had a cab with a box heater on floor of cab and it also had a big ventilation filter air system, but no air conditioner came with it.
I really liked the tractor alot, it brought a touch of blue 🔵 on my Red Farmall farm.

We had one for about 15 years with the Hiniker cab. Spent many summers planting corn/beans with it. Ran a grinder mixer for hog feed for years also. Very reliable tractor but broke a couple of shift forks and had to split it a couple of times. It had been turned up and never lacked for power. Got replaced with a newer New Holland. We've had a 4000, 5000, 8600, 9600, 2x TW15, TW20, 7740, TS110,TS115,T7040 T6-165 over the last sixty years in Northeast Missouri.

Very cool. Ford built long lasting tractors. The 9600 is a power house.

The truck tractor ratio is far worse today 😢. A new truck is mid 50,000 and up to 90,000. The top New Holland T8.434 is $551,000.
