    In Canada on a large roof span it is a good idea to always beef up the hips and valley members when you have multiple rafters framing into them as it can put quite a load on them, especially with snow loads in the valley member.

      Thanks rumswest - its a learning video for our students to have an understanding how to pitch roofs. Im guessing snow loads would be a big difference in Canada.

      I was going to ask the same thing? Shouldn't there be bracing, or I read online it's called "collar ties"? Because what's to stop it from sagging or collapsing in that spot(where the two different roofs come together) where there is no bracing?

    The broken hip roof, one of the last assessments before the big group assessment for 2nd year apprentices and then onto advanced roofing 👍🏻 What TAFE you teaching at mate?

    Wo die First auf einen Grad trifft, kommt ein Pfosten drunter und ein unterzug. Diese Konstruktion leitet ja alle Kräfte in die aussenwand!!!! Wie soll das nur halten?🤔🤔🤔👎👎🇩🇪
