I love Superboy-Prime. He stands as an example of how rebooting doesn't work. EVERY TIME DC tries to reboot and say "forget all those things from previous continuity", Superboy-Prime and his fans come in like "It's Prime Time!"
It's almost like having something with a lot of continuity isn't a bad thing as long as you do something cool and interesting with it.

Wouldn't work, Prime is immune to fake artificial red sunlight that was in his first appearance. And make sure that prime doesn't punch you out of existence, he is multiversal now. Since death metal prime punched a fully powered Anti-Monitor and Darkseid, out of existence with just one punch, Death metal #4. And he cannot be erased from existence too, prime has survived worst things, like a guardian exploding in his face which should have killed him but didn't it only made him stronger. Next in a story called legion Of Three Worlds, Superboy-Prime was getting erased from existence by his older counterpart Time-Trapper-Superman-prime through time. And prime came back to his world Earth prime, unaffected. If anyone would erase Prime from existence, he would just go back to his Earth and go to the headquarters of the character that erased him and prevents the writers from creating him or her. He did it before when the black lanterns attacked he went to the DC headquarter fighting. And Prime has a new Power where he can Punch magic out of magical being that was Shazam #14 he took out the Shazam family by speed blitzing and punching he removed the Marvel family out of their Superhero bodies and he was weakened in that book really bad. i just realized that super-powered beings from a universe that doesn't normally have any seem to be super OP. I don't know how many there are, but both superboy prime and the marquis of death fall under that category

This is also technically true in any universe where one super-powered being kills all the others

@Infamous Power CW did Crisis on Infinite Earths. As much as I love Infinite Crisis, that was the culmination of years of different stories that threw back to 20 years of continuity so it would be hard to cram it into a single movie. It would have to be a multi part epic. They could do it in the new animated universe but it would take so long to set up and they'd have to introduce Prime somehow as soon as possible.
I wish they did this instead of the last superman and batman movies.... totally waste!
I imagine it's because Crisis events are friendly to people who dont know anything about the DC universe. A first time watcher would be super confused about who everyone was, and character motivations. That's why they normally just do stand alone stories, and if they do have multiple characters they are the more famous ones.
TL;DR they make more money by reaching a bigger audience, and Crisis isnt wide audience friendly.
Looks like the only way to defeat Superboy Prime is to force him into a Pyrrhic Victory of sorts, where accomplishing his goal of destroying every superhero that exists makes him realize that nobody will end up liking him in any universe. And who will he end up fighting at that point -- normal beings that don't have superpowers? He will end up being the Hero of Nobody and Nothing.

Even without powers he beat down two grown and experienced supermen. They were also powerless but this just shows how strong he is. I wouldn't wanna face him powers or not.

I think Grant Morrison kind of answers this question in All-Star Superman. Perhaps by exposing Superboy-Prime to an excessive amount of Yellow Solar radiation could, in theory, begin to kill his cells and his body will eventually break down?

The problem is it makes him weaker but it doesn't really stop him. As he's shown it's only weak enough to barely contain him.

1. Find a way to remove his power suit
2. Find a way to remove his connection to a yellow sun and bombard him red sun radiation.

I’d tell Lucifer Morningstar that SBP said he’d totally leave him as a one night stand and not call back the following day.
Can you imagine what would happen if he faced Doomsday and killed him? Doomsday would come back unable to be stopped by probably no one
I would have agreed but its been proven that doomsday can completely die.
Two prime examples fans always fail to add in context.
1.when doomsday was sent to the end of time he completely died. Every other doomsday afterwards was a different doomsday.
2. When He faced off against imperiex.
Imperiex killed Doomsday in one Blast.
Doomsday never returned from that blast as well
Therefor superboy prime would stomp the holy hell out of him.
3.canon superman and superman from earth 2 have tag teamed and easily destroyed doomsday as well.
They had to depower prime just to beat him before.

Okay, it took me a minute but here goes....
Introduce nanites into Superboy Prime's body that emit red sun radiation.
Weaken him from the inside, while others work on his body.
As a backup, shrink nukes and get them into Superboy Prime's body as well.
The red sun emitters should weaken him enough to blow him up from the inside.
"Magic doesn't exist in our world." Oh, Rob...Many would beg to differ about Magik.

Personally I think depriving him of solar energy makes the most sense. Fight him under a red sun, in a place where the stars don't shine through and then break the power suit. After that send someone who can't die such as Mr. Immortal or similar figures and fight Prime till his power runs out. Make sure Superboy can't just fly away so keep him mad and give him reason to stay. Or you could just reality warp him out of existence but that's cheating.
When was the last time Superman got erased from existence? Y'know The "Kal El" characters are practically immune to reality & molecular warping huh?

I forget which book I read, but someone had the ability to create kryptonite from SPrime's universe and used it against him.
It was effective.

Once again, a portal to a dark dimension - Could that portal be closed around his neck and decapitate him? IDK but the darkness itself should have deleterious effects on SBP and eventually weaken him enough so that when God-King Doom crosses over to battle Perpetua, SBP is lost in the shuffle and becomes the combined DC+Marvel Galactus

So all you need is some high level telekinetic to burst those tubes on his suit. Or any reality warper who can just turn the stored yellow sun energy into red sun energy lol.

Step 1: Start your own comic empire.
Step 2: Become wealthy enough to buy DC.
Step 3: Buy DC.
Step 4: Write a story with a terrible excuse for a plot twist weakness that should have been impossible not to notice in past events that allows Superboy Prime to not only be killed but murderdeathkilled forever and for always so you never have to worry about him coming back once he's gone.
You forgot his biggest weakness. Easily manipulated. Fear toxin, psychological warefare. He'd willingly take off the suit and walk into a black hole.
He's the strongest character in any comic book that I've ever read. He's the only character that can't die and the only one that lives down the street from my house.
The original version of him had no weaknesses. Even red solar radiation did nothing.
He can not be killed or destroyed and his actions always directly affect universes.
I would put him against Thanos any day. The infinity gauntlet is no good because it does not affect any non marvel being.
He would mop Dr. Manhattan too.
He can time travel and is shown to live to the end of time.
His feats are beyond Ridiculous from 1985 to now.
I got it: cover him in an adhesive gel made of Vantablack. It's too sticky for him to easily remove and Vantablack is so dark that it absorbs almost all solar radiation. He would rapidly burn through his power reserves and you can shoot him at his weakest.
Why kill him? He is one interesting super villain and anti hero. He is one of the character of DC that they can use if the current stories are no longer palatable to readers.
fun idea since the suit stores and in turn gives Prime access to this energy could you not reverse the suits effects and have the suite start to drain him of the energy? at the vary least it would force him to ditch the suit.

I think the best way to beat him is to exploit his very fragile ego. If you can get him distracted enough, you can get him to damage himself in the right position, such as when he punched his future self and was erased
Find some way, such as magic/energy/reality warp, to convert the yellow sun energy stored within the power armor into red sun energy. Cut off from yellow sun and directly fed red sun it'll slow and weaken him enough to be dealt with.
Kyptonians don't have powers on their home planet not because of the absence of a yellow sun, but because of the existence of a red one. That's what Superman and Superman from Earth 2 used to defeat prime in Infinite Crisis as well.

Using comic logic since Hailey's comet activated his powers he should have some weakness dealing with it. Maybe destruction of it would rob him of his powers or a piece of it might be as effective as kryptonite.
Someone that can control matter could kill him, i dunno if it's already done though!

Also a telepathy expert like Professor X or the Martian Manhunter could invade his mind and kill him.
A four dimensional being could probably kill him easily because he wouldn't even be able to perceive it.
Without the plot armor it's possible to kill him, it's just very hard!

In theory if you can get in close you should be able to change the yellow solar energy generator in his armor into a red solar energy generator. So all you have to do is get other guys like Superman One Million and a few other Supes to hang with him and try to hold him down for somebody like Firestorm to Transmutate the generator

I mean not to sound rude Rob, but the Green Lanterns literally stored and imprisoned him INSIDE a red sun, and even then and there he was strong enough to kill all of them if he escaped. It's almost like even at his weakest point, he's still way stronger than regular Superman also.
It’s basically impossible to take down superbly prime. You’d need to 1. Get him away from a yellow sun 2. Find a red sun and trick him into fighting under its reach 3. Keep in under the red sun once he realizes what’s actually happening and 4. Fight him out until all the power from the yellow sun in depleted then 5. Kill him like a regular human being. Which if you’re already a regular human being not named Batman or Green Lantern getting to space is gonna be a issue let alone leaving the reach of our yellow sun.
