  • Lake George, beginning at the southern end of the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate New York and stretching thirty-two miles through the state's vast, protected Adirondack region of mountains and old-growth forests, has been called the Queen of American Lakes. Lake George Village, sitting at the Southern tip of the lake really comes to life in the summer with its bustling shops, restaurants, and arcades, as well as Fort William Henry, a restored British Fort built in 1755. If you haven't visited yet, here's your chance. And if you're already familiar with the area, come along anyway for a trip down memory lane. Lake George Village remains much the same as it was many years ago.

Such a beautiful place. I lived in Long Island, NY for 12 years and I never got a chance to go to Lake George. I will definitely see it on my next NY visit. Thanks for the 4K video.

Thanks so much! Let me know if you get a chance to revisit the area! I find it especially beautiful in the summer and the fall!

IN '75 WE CAMPED AT THIS AMAZING PLACE AND THOUGH WE'RE CANADIAN I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH HUGE BREAKFASTS. WE HAD A BLAST AS THE LOCALS WERE SO FRIENDLY!!

So glad you had a great time in Lake George! I was just there for Memorial Day Weekend 2023 doing some more filming. Such a great way to start the summer season!

The beauty of nature is heavenly but the honky tonk atmosphere--traffic, congestion, noise, cheesy shops--is hellish. I grew up in the 1940's in Bolton Landing north of the village so I've visited many times and have to say that each time I came to this village I thought it couldn't get worse but it always does!

Thanks for watching. The village is not for everybody. Luckily, it's a big enough lake so that those who appreciate the quiet beauty of nature can get that experience on many parts of the lake. I enjoy both!

@@DannyDirtyDrawz So I'm being true to the tantrum connotations of my name just because I don't like tacky tourist sites? One can express an opinion without being labeled as rude, you know.

Thanks, @@DannyDirtyDrawz. Hayeski is what the kids called me during my 45+ year teaching career since I had a habit of adding "ski" to the end of their names, as in "You know what I mean, Danielski?" Thanks so much for watching!

Just realized I responded to your comment out of context, @daniel rivera, having responded directly from my notifications. I may be slightly clueless, but, on the plus side, I'm harmless and happy, haha! Thanks again for watching if you did!

I have been going there since I was six years old (I'm now seventy) and I must say that your video captures the essence of the place like no other. Well done!

Thanks so much, Keith! It's a beautiful area, especially in the summertime, and since I retired last year (I'm less than a year from 70 myself) I'm really enjoying vlogging all the sights and sounds of Saratoga, Lake George, Lake Placid, etc. I'll probably do more with Lake George including the Sagamore and maybe even parasailing if I get brave enough!

Im gonna go this month. Any hotel recommendations which is walking distance from the main area with restaurants and activities

@@MrKjetterSince Lake George is not that far from where I live, I haven't stayed at any of the hotels but there are a number of them right along Canada Street. I've attached a map of them. The main part of town with the restaurants and other attractions is from Million Dollar Beach on Beach Road and onto Canada Street heading North to the north end of Shepard Park. It's an easy walk into this zone from many of the hotels south of this zone (such as Howard Johnsons) and north (such as the Courtyard by Marriott). Let me know what hotel you decide on and your reactions to it. www.google.com/travel/hotels?q=Lake%20George%20hotels&gsas=1&rp=CgpYAGAAcgQIAhgAOAGAAgGoAgA&ved=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwiQ7pqa9vX4AhUAAAAAHQAAAAAQBA&hl=en-US&gl=us&g2lb=2502548%2C2503771%2C2503781%2C4258168%2C4270442%2C4284970%2C4291517%2C4306835%2C4308226%2C4515404%2C4518326%2C4597339%2C4649665%2C4703207%2C4718358%2C4722900%2C4723331%2C4741665%2C4757164%2C4758493%2C4762561%2C4779784%2C4786958%2C4790928%2C4794648%2C4806993%2C4807823%2C4812565%2C4814049%2C4816008&ts=CAESCgoCCAMKAggDEAAaLwoREg06C0xha2UgR2VvcmdlGgASGhIUCgcI5g8QBxgOEgcI5g8QBxgPGAEyAhAAKgsKBygBOgNVU0QaAA
