- Another New Postmates Fleet tip I completely forgot to mention is to always have a spare Postmates credit card in your glove box in case something happens. getting a new xard takes a week and can hurt you bad. I always get parmesan cheese for my customers at 7-11 when they get pizza even though they didn't ask it's the right thing to do

Yesterday my first time delivering I forgot to get them Parmesan cheese at papa John’s, the lady was really hot and in her bikini when she answered I think she was having a pool party. It was like my second delivery though and I didn’t think about asking for it
This is probably the BEST advice for delivery drivers on UA-cam.
Great tips, I do a lot of the same. Also new people when an offer pops up look and see where it ends up, if you see it leaves you in the middle of nowhere or far away from a hot spot or civilization ...decline!
I FOUND THAT DRIVING A ROUTE THAT BRINGS YOU WITHIN 1 - 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM HOTSPOTS AND LOOPING AROUND TO LIKE A WALMART I USUALLY GET A PING HALFWAY BACK TO WALMART WHERE MY ROUTE STARTS

Can you make a video for new drivers about a step by step (with screen shares) of what to do in these problems/scenarios
1) Restaurant staff tells you to "Fet out!" "We will not allow orders or work with Postmates"
2)Postmates card Declines and you have a cart load of perishable items like raw meat or Icecream in the summer,.....lines are long... and cashier cannot save order. You call support but are not able to get anyone until hour or longer.
3)Restaurant that App/GPS sent you too, does not serve the item ordered, only sold at other location near by, but app keeps telling you that you cannot pay at that location, and must go back to pay and continue/complete.
3)Explain that if you pay with your own money or card, that Postmates will only reimburse only once on the first one(regardless if the second one you pay for was alot more money) IF YOU REPORT IT FAST and provide picture & proof as well as bank transaction printout.
4)What to do if you accidentally swiped complete because of a phone slip, and you no longer know address and no one in support answers phone.
Basically the customer is left thinking you stole food, but actually you desperately want to deliver it, but can't now.
I talked to Postmates about adding an extra fail safe for accidental swipes so that you are still able to contact customer, still see address and special instruction screen after you swiped complete.
The guy just said Yeah Okay I will tell app developers...but that was more than 2 years ago and nothing yet.

Can I use google maps, to have it open, especially if the postmates apps I am to understand is going to have the potential to drag me over a 4 hours shift, potentially further in any one direction ? I am near Chicago area. That's fine Can't complain. It can be quick here, traffic not too hideous in busy market geogrpaphy where the great suburbs is. Do I get paid for before Pickup, , or no, it just records the miles, within the postmates APP, from my time miles to the restaurant , and then for delivery ?
@@jpsmorgasbordsafetyandmore3403 postmates only counts the miles from the moment you pick up the order. Get an app like Stride to count everything for tax deductions.

In order to be in exchange communication once in a while to Postmates customer service if any sort of masked SCAM I do suspect, due to the nature of my normal day job and past identity fraud industry helping clients, is Postmates customer service , readily available ? How and where on the APP itself, can Postmates be reached out too almost ASAP, if I am online and in transit like to my next delivery places ? So from place and then to the customer ? Thanks - J P
@@jackofpaultrades But I do have an Andorid , and as far as a SCANNER for their Drivers license I.D. on liquor sales or cigarettes ? Am I scanning a barcode, of their I.D., which will populate an imagge on the Postmates screen to send into for completed delivery success, or is It that I am taking photo of their ID. with birth date, and that is sufficient for Postmates ? In order they can accept that from me when I submit it to them : Again, only applying to those orders in question, which are potential underage liquor customers, and Postmates requires verification ?

Hello, Like you I’ve done a ton of deliveries, Another scam that I’ve come across is one that, they want you to call them on a separate number so they I think they can get your personal number when it pops up. If you use the number provided in the app it comes up as a random Postmates number, they don’t want that. You will realize if you do that it will say it has be disconnected. I’m not exactly sure their end game, but can guess it has something to do with possibly of stealing your Identity. It is very similar to the original scam, cheap item drive to the drop off location which is fake/or a apartment community or a similar place but doesn’t provide a number so you need to call them very sneaky

@@jackofpaultrades I wish I knew. The only thing I can recommend is making a video saying watch before you start driving with postmates. Idk why they don't have a way of contacting them by phone. It would help tremendously. This is the only company I have had that problem with. Thanks again.

@@jackofpaultrades Thanks a lot. Also maybe you can recommend to them to have some kind of training videos before that can warn drivers about these things. It's too easy to scam with this platform. I love the freedom of driving though.
If your drive time to deliver your order is more then 15 minutes update yhe customer with an eta.
a great part 2 would be what to do if..
ive been searching and havent found anything on what to do if say the customer refuses to accept the order/food.
customer says food was never delivered even when it was (ive seen videos of customers reporting food "stolen" even though it was delivered)
or other incidents one might run into.
Kover hasn’t added me after a month of waiting got an email after I emailed them first saying they’re having people on waiting list.
I got scammed too by a customer, I only lost 20 dollars, but please people never give any of your account information to anyone over the phone
Question?....have you heard any intel saying whether they were going to convert the postmate app to uber style...it would be better if they used the door dash transparent order offer style. I just hope they dont do a large scale layoff when the deal is solitified on Jan 1 2021
i have not heard any rumors but postmates corporate has always been tight lipped about any future changes they plan to make

Hi you mentioned "start the timer" when talking about getting in apt with security gate. What timer are you referring to?
its the "customer not here" button. starts a 5 minute timer and trys to contact customer
You mention “starting the timer” when you’re at the gate... how do I do that!? I think I’ve been missing that step. I got stuck picking up a delivery for a customer from a *mall* that charged $2 for parking. Should I have started the timer from the second I put my debit card in to get a ticket from the parking garage ??
Its a button labeled customer not available. I would have started it outside the paid parking and I would have text telling them to meet me outside as Im not reimbursed for paid parking
I do doordash plus postmates but my question how does the pay work on postmates?
You take orders and pray for tips. Payday is Monday but instant cashouts anytime for .50

So I just finished the signup and I’m good to go. Will they send a prepaid card and thermal bag to you automatically or do you have to do something?
they will send you the card. the bag costs a few bucks. Take a moment to order a spare card they the fleet app store for free. I find costco and walmart sell large thermal beach style bags for very cheap compared to the Postmate one.
I signed up today and got an email saying that they are shipping out a card and a thermal bag that should be delivered in a couple days.

@@jackofpaultrades You don’t know how much you’re going to make with Postmates until after the delivery?? Why would anyone want to work for them? I just started delivering for DoorDash 2 weeks ago and like it so far. Just a few hours a day around peak lunch time 4-5 days a week. Was considering Uber Eats or GrubHub but not Postmates now that I know that I won’t see how much they pay before accepting the orders.

Is ringing the doorbell on contactless orders always a good idea? I know when I order DoorDash I don't always get the message right away that my food is there, so it sits. But, I also feel like I'm playing ding door ditch if I ring the doorbell and take off after a minute. 😂
i always ring unless the notes say not to. if anything having the person see you leave and get in your car will humanize their decision on how they tip you. meaning easier not to tip if i never saw you

Mace is a great way to protect yourself. I suggest get one that emits a blue dye to identify the assailant by law easier

before is fine. it takes a few days and you don't have to start until you're ready

I got a scam! The customer called me and said the order was 2 hours late and she already got a different order and she didn't want the order and she wanted me to cancel it for her, I tried to cancel the trip for her and I imagine the scam was she didn't have to pay and I got suspended for 1 day, Postmates customer support lies too so don't trust them either and always down rate them because they are enemies.

U might want to go to a hotspot or where there is a lot of restaurants. Hotspots are the red areas on the map in the app. They indicate a busy area.
How do I get in touch with Postmates when I have a problem on the road.
Select the live support option thru the fleet app. Selct the question mark icon and select live support. i prefer using live chat as its quicker than getting an agent on the phone

What do you mean scan? Like scan with your camera on your phone? Or is there a scan function on the app? This is my very first time with any delivery service so I hope you don't mind about all the questions that I'm about to ask. Haha
How do I get my postmates card?
in the fleet app you can request a free replacement card through the postmates fleet store. takes 3 to 7 days. always have two lying around just in case.
Can you see if you have to pay for it before you accept?
no. that comes from knowing which restaurants in your local market work with PM. To gind out check the Postmates food ordering app for your area.
How can I contact live support. I keep getting an automated responses. I need the card sent to me.
You can order a new card in the Fleet store for free. Always keep 2 in case something happens.

Select the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner of the main screen
Select your profile icon in the upper right-hand corner
Select Prepaid Card
Select Order Replacement
Enter in the information when prompted
Select Continue to shipping
Select Continue to payment
Note: No payment will be required
Select Pay now to place the order
What days are typically the busiest/slowest this is my first day delivering and i got 3 deliveries in the first 1 and a half but after that this whole day has been dead is this normal?
Also i live in town of florida but should i go to beach side instead to get more deliveries
Always go where the most dense cluster of restaurants are located on the ordering app.

just go online and after your first completed order in the new area and you will be able to see the "heat" map for your new spot.

I would recommend becoming active in the Reddit group r/postmates and ask local users if its busy in those areas and to share their tips for best locations. Good Luck!
Just signed up for this app, I got a "prepaid" card....what is this card to be used for? anyone?
Some orders are pre paid and some you order when you arrive. As time goes on you will learn your market and which places to accept.

Hello postmate Paul this is post mate Karla just wanted to let you know I had something weird happened to me today I had an order from McDonald's I gave them the number, they told me to go to the drive-thru because it was past 8 so I went through the drive-thru waited for 10 minutes through the drive-through we got to the window and they had told me somebody else had picked up my order for postmate then the postmate customer texted me and told me that somebody had picked up their order but they still haven't gotten their food I don't know if that's another scam or what's going on but this is the first time that has happened to me. I know I haven't been postmating that long but still this is the first time it's happened. I just wanted to put that out there so maybe you can mention that on one of your other videos to let people out there also know that this is also possible through postmate.
It means the first driver never delivered. contact postmates customer support in these cases to get bad drivers off boarded.

@@saongpark2423 because the tips are always 4.33 or 2.09 or something stupid. People tip by whole dollar amounts, not in cents.

I have never used delivery service so I don't know how the system is set up for tips. I assumed the system for tips on PM is either specific amount or percentage of the food amount.
@@OregonMotorcycle nah man people have the option to tip a percentage of their order. Most people do a percentage and then maybe 1/4 of tippers do a clear amount like $5 or $10

Postmates...literally the worst driver app ever made...only use it if you don't qualify for the other apps...

@@ericgarza3239 it just sucks compared to the others. For 1 they don't tell you what the run is worth till the next day or 2..leaving you with no closure and no way to gauge if your gonna make ends meet

@@ericgarza3239 idk why? Go ahead but I would do one of the others if you qualify and run postmates on the side of that..postmates is like a add on for the other apps. I wouldn't use it by itself. It's like trying to use a PS4 DLC with out the getting the game first.
