Did you have any video where you can show using the cup, mug or bottle attachment?
@@blancamgarcia7303 thanks for watching Blanca, no sorry I don't have that attachment. Would be very handy though I think.
Absolutely fantastic tool.. am blown away by all the things you can do with it. I definitely need to get myself one 🤩
Yes you should get one for sure 👍
Fantastic , you really went in depth with this video , showed us a lot what it can do thank you !!

Whoa 😮😮 this is so cool , this immediately goes on my want list !!!
Holy cow FANTASTIC review !
Thanks for taking a look buddy 👍
Thank you SO MUCH for making this intelligent assembly video - the instruction was woefully missing an incredible amount of detail !!! ♥
Glad It helped you Elizabeth, Please yell out if you need any help and I will do my best to assist you 👍
what are the half-dozen zip ties for??
Cable management. Most important the cable that runs from the laser, make sure you tie that one back to the top of the head so that it does not move or you will run into trouble down the track. Not sure if I showed that in any of the video. Apart from that you should be ok from memory.
Wow that is cool..Have fun with that my friend...
Thanks for checking it out Brian
I doubt I’ll ever have a need for one, but it’s amazing what it can do. Vevor makes good stuff. I have a few of their products and none have let me down.
Good luck with yours buddy. I can see you getting a lot of use from that.
Thanks very much shedman. It's amazing what you can do with these will a little imagination. I think cutting gaskets out would be a game changes for some people. I agree their products seem very versatile for the prices they charge. Appreciate you watching 👍
Nice review and outstanding video! That engraver would keep a feller pretty busy... Good Stuff
Thanks Vic, the possibilities are endless and they are so cheap and easy to use.
Bonjour.
Un grand merci pour cette vidéo.
Sans vous j'aurai mis une bonne heure de plus.
👍
Thank you for watching. I'm so glad this helped you 👍
I got one last Christmas just put it together. Thank you for the video it helped so much. Could you please consider doing a video on working with the program too.
Thanks Busy Bee. Glad it helped.
What program are you using ?
I'm using LightBurn they have their own channel that show lots of tips and tricks.
Cool 👍👍👍
Thanks for taking a look
Glad I found your videom I just buy mine last week and when I opened the box and find out I will be the one to assemble it I almost decide to return it coz I am not a techy person. But with your video I will give myself a try.
Thanks Hanna. I hope it helps you. If you have any questions putting it together please ask and I will assist you. I'm sure you will have it under control though 👍👍
@@Austeration thanks and will do in case.
I just finished setting up mine but it took me more or less 3hrs coz I switch the frame, then I install the y axis wrong, huhuhu, was so tired. Then the worst part is the cable installation. The cables entertwined inside that black thing, so hard to connect to their. Then I figured to better pull them all the way and put it back properly. Then everything is ready. I will install the driver and software tomorrow. I was so tired. Huhuhu. But thanks because I kept watching this over and over again, until I make it. Also, do you need to use goggles and mask when your printing? To avoid radiation you know.
@@hannalagud congratulations Hanna, I was only Just thinking of you and was about to message to see how you got on. I had that same trouble with the cables that you had and fixed it the same way you did. When you have recovered please let me know if there was any parts of my video that you wish had more information. Don't worry about how hard it was, I am sure if you had to do it a second time you would do it in 30 min. It's all learning and you did it all by your self.👏👏👏
Yes you should use the glasses to protect your eyes. Depending on what your using it for it will create some smoke so make sure it's in a well ventilated area. If it's anything toxic then make sure your well clear of it.
What software are you planing on using ?
Thanks for the cheering hehe.. I am downloading the lasergrbl software
thank god for you, I was ready to throw this thing back in the box. The instructions are horrible. Thank you so much I got it together now.
You are most welcome, I'm glad it helped. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to help if I can.👍
Amazing
Thank you for taking a look! Cheers!
Hello. I'll do my best to help. What software are you using Is it light burn ?
What power setting are and speed setting are you using ?
That is very nice.Oneday.
Thanks Dale, check out the link in the description. Might be cheaper than you think 👍
Das finde ich ja mal Cool👍
Thanks for watching.
nice share video friend👌👌👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video when is the wine and cheese night 🎉
Every night is wine and cheese night. Thanks for taking a look Richard.
Have you used a rotary and done tumbler engraving with it?
I have seen them Collin but as yet I not used one. I think they would be good but I don't have a use for one at this stage. Do you have one ?
@Austeration are these any good at engraving on Stainless Steel?
Thanks for watching. Great question, I haven't tried it on stainless yet. What are you wanting to engrave on, just a stainless sheet or a small stainless item ?
Hi there, do you know if there is any power indicator like an LED light or any way to tell that the engraver is on? I plugged everything in and my computer doesnt seem to be able to detect it when I plug the USB in. I used LaserGRBL and even installed the driver on my computer, it said the driver was ready and preinstalled.
I thought there was an LED, the fan should run on the laser head also. Make sure the stop button is not pushed in by twisting it the button should be up and the key on. Try that first
@@Austeration Thanks! I didn't realize you had to twist the stop button to release it!
@@vchiang1 all good 👍 so your all sorted then. Have fun. Don't forget to check out the free 30 day trial of Lightburn
Have you tried any software other than lightburn. Im going to order my laser today
Thanks for watching. Good question, I did try laserGRBL to start with but after trying the free 30 day trial of Light burn I couldn't go back. It has so many more features. What are you planning on using yours for if you don't mind me asking ?
how cool.....
Thanks for watching Nora. Its a bit different to my usual projects so I hope you still found it interesting. 🙂
What do you use under your project to keep it from burning your house down?
Great question. In this video I was using a old air conditioner return vent but I now have a laser honeycomb bed under it. Under that I usually have a sheet of tin or aluminium and then an old board that it all sits on. I hope that answers your question. Please yell out if you need any more information 😁
Does this vevor 20W have cross hairs for alignment and do you still like this laser , thanks
Hi Jeff this unit is only the 5W version. Yes I still have it and no it does not come with cross hairs. I generally use the framing option with lightburn to map out the alignment. Are you looking at getting one and will it be your first laser ?
@@Austeration No I have the xtool S1 40Wand F1 and wanting an open laser just to engrave on stove top covers , looking for a 20 W to do this
@@jeffbarnes2014 oh cool I also have the S1 and 4 other open lasers none of them have cross hairs like the S1
can air assist be needed with this ,plus what model is this one plz
Hi Barb this is the cheapest one, it's only 5W air assist could be added depending on what your planning on doing with it. There is a link in the description with a discount. If your thinking of getting one let me know your plans for it if that's ok. 👍
Have you done any tumblers ?
Thanks for watching. No I haven't tried those yet, not really my thing sorry.
This machine can be used for laser in “yeti”?
Thanks for watching Alfredo. You could use this but you really need a rotary attachment that turns the Yeti. Not sure if Vevor offer these or not. Check out the link and take a look. Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have another questions 👍
Can this cut intricate leather earring patterns? What are you using beneath your material? Is it a honeycomb grid?
How thick is the leather your using ?
I actually have an old aluminium return vent beneath my material
My leather will be 5 ounce.
@@celestebutler2957 so that's 5/64 inches or 2mm. I will see what leather I can find at home and test it out. Get back to you shortly
What was the watts on this one. Vevor has many options for wattage
This was the 5w. Are you looking at getting something ?
👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍👍👍😁👍👍👍🐨🦘
Nice video! one question, is it possible to engrave in carbon fiber?
Thanks for watching. I'm not sure to be honest. I have not tried. What sort of carbon fibre items would you like to engrave on ?
I can try it out
Thanks for you response, for example a cabon pipe. Im just wondering if the laser is strong enough for carbon. Engraving 0.1mm is enough.
@@jeniferguma9107 I will have to have a hunt and see if I can find something. I currently don't have anything I can test it on.
When do you need to know by ?
Hi!
Can you tell me if this machine can engrave on crystal glass and crystal acrilyc?
I'm considering purchase the 20W to engrave glass, aluminum plates, acrilyc, etc... But I haven't found any video with the test't on glass.
I appreciate any help you can give me!
Thank you
Hi Fabio. That's a great question. I have never tried to engrave glass personally but I will test it out if you have some time. The 20w would be a great option if your looking. I see a lot of people use Permanent Markers or black paint on glass surfaces to engrave them. Another option is to use an etching paste on the surface after the laser has marked out your pattern. Also if you follow the link in my description and copy the discount code you can save a bit of cash.
@@Austeration thanks for the answer!
Yes I have time and I will use your discount for sure 😉
I really appreciate If you can test it out on Glass and Acrylic, because is the 2 materials that are transparent and I want to engrave myself in my store, and I know that with CO2 laser it can be done 😅
VEVOR tell's that this laser can engrave in Glass and also Acrylic, but I would like to see a test 😅
If you can do it I will be very grateful!
Thank you!
@@TheFabi0089 no problems. I will do at as soon as I get a chance 👍
@@Austeration Thanks!
Will be waiting for your feedback!
Thank very much!
Hello Fabio I can confirm that this works on glass. I just used an old piece of glass from a picture frame and used a permanent marker. I will try and make a short video for you if you would like so that you can see the result 👍
Essa máquina corta até que espessura ?
Did Spot time travel back to 2023? 😮
Hey mate i got this machine and thanks to you was able to putnit together. The instuections were average. Anyhow used it for a day and already today the laser has died. It slowly lost power until it is completely dead now. Fingers crossed vevor tech support can help. Otherwise it would be a waste of money. Have you had any problems with it yet?
That's sad news the only trouble I had with the instructions was the wiring. But they could have been better. No I haven't had any trouble at all with mine. Have you had any experience with any other lasers or is this your first ? What is dead, the laser or the whole thing?
@@Austeration this is my first laser. And was using it on some light burning on timber and yeah the laser itself started to lack power. And then I tried troubleshooting and as I was testing it slowly faded away completely. So there just no light coming from it at all any more. Still moves everywhere all good just no laser.
@@danwright4598 obvious question but you did you remove the connection to the laser and plug it back in ? Also what software are you useing ? Is it light burn ? If so make sure you have the layer selected turned on. I got caught out with that a few times.
@@Austeration Hey mate yeah I disconnected most of the connections and reconnected. And using grbl. It slowly got worse and worse. Well actually I went from working well on a job to really faint. Even just using the light on feature on grbl and it was very dim laser light. Hopefully tech support can sort it out. As it was working so well. I thought it may have gotten dirty. But cleaned it and no change. It eventually faded out to nothing. The green laser active light on the top of the laser still lights up. But dead otherwise.
@@danwright4598 mmmm that sux. I feel very disappointing for you. Yes hope the support can help out. I'm not sure what else to suggest without seeing it. Please let me know how things work out please.
What is the card slot for?
What software are you using?
How well does this do on metal?
Metal
I'm so Sorry I thought I replied your question but now I can't see it. Yes you can engrave metal I believe I show an example of this. Not that good for cutting metal though. This is only a 5W they do have a 20W
7:10 it does Ok here I'm engraving a stainless steel ruler I think I test it out on some other items also.
Remember to use the links in the description to receive a discount if your looking at getting one
What plans do you have for it ether than metal ? The also have a 20w version that is better for cutting wood.
Any questions I'm happy to help
@@Austeration So for cutting stainless steel objects, the 5W version is fine?
@@joeparendsen5616 Not for cutting Joe only engraving like I showed.
It pays to shop around I just compared price with Ebay Australia it's a better deal
Is that with the 5% discount ?
where can I purchase LIGHTBURN software
Just Google light Burn. You get a free 30 day trial and then you can purchase it. Hope that helps
ok
@@Mrhall11 let me know if you have trouble
What software are you using? Laser power?
I use light burn. The power setting vary depending on what your using to engrave
@@Austeration Thank you. I am trying to identify the VEVOR unit you are using in the video. Power head on the unit in the video? mike
@@drewjohnson4673 I'm only using a 5w unit here. There should be a link in the description. Do you have a laser or looking at getting one ?
@@Austeration looking to get one. will need a lot more in the future but would like to learn basics with a minimum expense and have bought other things from VEVOR.
@@drewjohnson4673 the light burn program is free for 30 days but then you have to purchase it. Well worth it though.
If you looking at cutting MDF etc I would go for the 20w. My 5w is better for engraving.
What software are you using, please?
I am using Light Burn. It's free for 30 days then you have to pay for it but its so worth it.
Do you have one of these or are you looking at getting one ? Please email me before you do, if you are
@@Austeration I have one. Vevor sent it to me. Truly appreciated your video! It mad putting it together so easy
@@UpAllNightDIY That is so good to hear that feedback, much appreciated. Are you using lightburn ?
@@Austeration I’m using lasergrbl at the moment. I just attempted my first cutting project tonight. Wasn’t successful. Tried cutting a relatively simple design from 1/8” basswood. Didn’t quite make it all the way through the wood. Back at it tomorrow
I just got one of these and i can't get it to burn or cut anything. The laser powers on and i can see the focused spot, but even at S1000 and a super low speed it doesn't even melt Styrofoam 🤔 anyone have any ideas?
This might sound like a silly question but how did you set the height of the laser from the material your trying to engrave ? It should be the thickness of one of the 3mm plastic sample pieces that came in the box
@@Austeration not a silly question at all 😂 yes, I used the acrylic spacer that came with it. I spaced it with the orange magnetic shield in place.
I set the spacer on top of the material, then loosened the screws on the laser module and lowered the module until the orange shield was in contact with the top of the spacer. Then I tightened the screws and removed the spacer.
@@nathanhall8678 what program are you using to run it. Have you tried the free version of light burn ? Is the laser on when its moving around ?
@@Austeration I'm using LaserGRBL. Yep, the laser is on while it moves. It's almost like the power level is too low. I double-checked to make sure that my power level configuration is correct (max value of 1000 instead of 255).
I didn't know there was a free version of Lightburn... I'll try that just to rule out the gcode and/or sender.
@@nathanhall8678 light burn has a free 30 day trial. It's so much better. You will need to set the power to 100% and make sure you have it set to line or cut. Check out some of the videos on how to set up light burn. Yes good idea about checking the power level. Not sure how you do that though
Does this work on metal?
7:05 thanks for watching. I am engraving stainless steel
@@Austeration ok, thanks
@@SoleilMagica what are you wanting to engrave ?
@@Austeration silver and gold jewellery :)
@@SoleilMagica that sounds very interesting 👍
Can I use it inside or is it too stinky? Sorry I am german 😂
Hi thanks for watching. It depends what your doing with it. If your using it on wood it can get very smokey and stinky so it's best to use it in a well ventilated area. You can also purchase enclosures to cover the units that have an exhaust fan in them. I have a video you can watch on this. Hope this helps.
Happy to help with any questions you might have 😊 Greetings from Australia
can you test this on acrylic sheets? 😮
Are you wanting to cut the acrylic ? How thick ?
