      A great way to really kickstart any credit card journey! How long ago did that start for you Chase?

    I think I'm like a lot of folks who will be in the stage of building my collection and making additions from here on out. While I already have a good foundation of credit cards, I don't see myself stopping anytime soon with all the value that can be garnered from welcome bonuses on new cards. This was a super well-thought-out video Kevin. Great work!!

      For those of us willing to put in the work, there's some amazing value there! But I can definitely understand those who have little to no interest and go for simplicity too. Just a trade off! Thanks for watching as always Spencer!

    Great guide on credit card strategies Kevin! I’m always trying to find the balance between max value vs. simplicity, and it seems to always change! Lots of great options to choose from in this video. I’m big on BofA as you know, but yeah, most people would do well starting with CFF/CFU (maybe Freedom Rise now)

      Yeah I think you're one of the few big fans of BoA that I know haha, but it's definitely up there when it comes to simplicity, especially if you have the assets with them! Thanks for watching Stan!

    Great video Kevin! I personally started with the secured card route. Now that my score is higher I’m trying to resist the urge to collect cards like infinity stones lol.

      Haha, whatever suites your lifestyle! Some people spend more so it makes sense, but some may be good with 1-2 cards. Which cards are you eyeing next?

      @@KevinYang Absolutely lol. Right now I’ve had the SavorOne for almost 8 months, and the BILT Mastercard for almost 3 months. I don’t have a “catch all” card, so I’m debating whether I want to go for the Chase Freedom Unlimited to get into their ecosystem or go for the Venture X. I know I eventually want the Venture X, but I’m not sure if it makes sense for me just yet.

    So I just got the freedom flex card. It was my 5th one. So my 5/24 is full. I really want the Saphire also. Can I cancel one of my other cards that won’t go off the 5/24 for another year? And then get it? Does it work like that?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  5 місяців тому

      No unfortunately not. You could product change, but then you also don't get the welcome bonus. You could instead focus on another ecosystem first!

    Kevin. I heard that if we book flights with points and our flight get cancelled then we loose all our points. So if we book connection flights or multiple destination flights and our first flight gets cancelled, that will make us miss our other flights after and what about all the hotel reservations we alleyway made. Doesn't that mean our whole trip is gone? The airline won't put us on another flight? It doesn't make sense to me why they cancel our flight and wouldn't compensate us. if that's the case then isn't booking on points dangerous?

    • @KevinYang
      @KevinYang  Рік тому +1

      Unfortunately, I've never had that experience, so I would not know for sure. But here are some thoughts:
      - If you had paid cash for multiple flights not on the same itinerary, you also wouldn't get money back for everything else. This would be the same for booking via points
      - Booking through *any* third party does have the danger that it would be more complicated going through support via an airline or hotel directly, but this is also true for cash on those sites as well!
