This is an absolutely fantastic tutorial, I’ve been putting off magnetizing my Kastelan robots for ages bc there weren’t many good tutorials for this. They’re definitely up next thanks to you!
only info I would add. if you are adding numerous magnets to multiple models that can interchange items. create a 'primary' model with all the magnets with correct polarization. then use that model to make sure all the other models and accessories have the correct alignment. as a T'au player, this is very important.
Awesome video and DIY my friend! That's actually pretty insane! It's incredible how you put it together! Amazing to swap the pieces in between, always great to have different weapons around!
What I like to do is take the spare parts, figure out what it required to make a new unit, and order those singular parts online. Admittedly easier with space marines that other factions.
Awesome tips! I wish I'd seen this before I started using these things. The first time I used the hobby drill, I drilled straight through the plastic (on camera, no less). The first time I used the smallest bit for pinning with paperclips, I promptly broke the drill bit. I'm like a bull in a China shop with these things! Excellent video!
I love magnetizing my minis! It's always a puzzle to figure out how to best go about it and the end result is always satisfying! Just a shame I play imperial guard, with 8 billion little guys...
@Giggan-h2r after making the mistake of magnetizing literally everything in the krieg killteam, I came up with a new strategy. Now I magnetize all the special weapon options, but only one or two bodies. Now it only takes me a few days to magnetize a squad rather than a week, lol!
I'm going to try heating the magnet and pressing it into place. I did so,e brief reading that said up to 350c doesn't hurt the magnet. I'm going to heat it, then press it into place. I'll have to find some scrap plastic to test this. Has anyone else tried anything like this?
@Giggan-h2r Find some scrap plastic, and I'm going to give it a shot and I'll let you know. According to what I read as long as I keep the temperature under 350° c it shouldn't hurt the permanent magnet. Although I don't think I'll need to get it that hot. BTW. Got to see my first Warhammer game yesterday, and it looks like fun.

@ewill3435 agree 100% . Magnetizing all those guardsmen would be quite the challenge.

@@CUBEBOX6 not that I know of. Might find something out there with a Google search. Would be nice to have some of those.
