  • Pizza Tower has a long and rich development history, something which not many games can easily claim. And with this game having so many years under its belt for its development, one might assume that it also has a lot of trivia, right? Well, it does! And in todays video, I'm going over a few pieces of trivia for every single level that's currently available in the game. Check it out!

    Okay so I'd like to comment here first by saying thank y'all for the love you've shown the video. Seriously, I did not expect the video to actually do well, it's pretty crazy! And as for why I haven't even begun addressing some of the stuff I've gotten wrong in the video... I've just been on a complete content break, I only just now checked the comments pretty much. So, if y'all have info to dump, reply to this specific comment and I'll heart what I can. Sorry I can't do better, but one thing I know for sure is that I'll do a MUCH more diligent job with trivia videos like these in the future. I was even planning another Pizza Tower one soon... and it'll be much better informed, trust me! Once again, thank you all for the support, and I promise the next PT video will not be a total trainwreck lol

      14:39 As you've written, the achievement room's background for floor 3 is an old Space Pinball background. However, it's worth noting that all achievement rooms actually use unused backgrounds. Floors 1-3 use Space Pinball backgrounds, and Floor 4 uses a graffiti background meant for the old hub.
      23:45 In old builds, Gerome was supposed to be the "lap 2" for every level. You'd have to pick him up at the start during pizza time and bring him back to the janitor door. Picking up the treasure would instantly end the level.

      3:41 I believe “Let’s make this quick” does not require a second lap, only for you to beat the level in under 2 minutes…
      9:16 no she doesn’t. she, like any other pizza grannies, has a random chance to spawn or not when you enter the main hub they’re located in

      28:56 it was initially canon that peppino was a war vet (a few mcpig tweets), but it eventually got retconed.

      Lap 2 is unlocked upon completion of a level as well, speedrunning the tutorial just makes all of them spawn immediately, regardless of if the level is completed or not.

    noise gutter was conceptualized due to an idea where noise takes the key after his boss fight and hides at the end of john gutter

    2:35 All that means is that all Lap 2 portals are unlocked at the start. Normally, you need to beat the level, then the Lap portal will be unlocked on any future attempts

      A weirder thing is that you can replay the tutorial at any time and unlock all lap 2. Or atleast could.

    One detail I love is that in The Crumbling tower of Pizza, the John in the background smiles as it falls down and apparently also gives you a thumbs up.

    Fun fact, because of that, you can actually get the "Whoop this!" Achievement in the Secrets of the world level.
    Also making it technically the only achievement that can be obtained in two levels.

    Something that I quite like about the visual aspect of the game is that it maintains that consistency of being inside a tower.
    If you look at the background of Western District You can see that the "sun" is a giant lamp.

    One thing from the Gnome Forest Title card that tickles my brain is, that the thing that brick has in his mouth is transparent. It wasn't colored and you see the background

    The reason behind the cheese dragon in floor one was to reference the old boss fight where you would fight the cheese dragon! Fun Fact: The cheese Dragon was supposed to be the original floor 1 boss before pepperman!

      yep. in this boss, you had to run to the end with a timer. each time the timer came to zero, pizza face would come and by touching you, made you lose a toppin. You had 5 toppin and when you have no toppin and pizzaface touch you, you lose. Throughou the level, the cheese dragon attackand you have to throw objects on him.

    1:06 So, yesterday some playtesters made a stream playing old builds to celebrate Pizza Tower's 1st anniversary and they confirmed that the reason Cheese Dragon appeared in every floor secret room in some builds was because of a glitch lol
    3:23 I think it's because they had plans to you chasing Noise (after defeating him) to the first floor and replaying John Gutter to get the big key
    21:47 hey, fun fact: this guy was originally an obstacle in Wasteyard (at least in the Eggplant Build). He only could be killed with the ghost transformation.

    The Noise’s theme in the sound test room is sort of an enigma, as Pimpin’ hot stuff was the name of the theme for the mini the noise boss fight at the end of one of the Christmas levels, pretty sure it was strong cold, perhaps it was changed after they already made the sound test room, because they might have shared the same name at some point but it got changed so people wouldn’t confuse the two.

    One thing about The Vigilante I feel that's worth mentioning is that unlike every other boss in the game, the Vigilante seems to be actively taking you seriously.
    Also, floor two is the only floor with a distinct theme.

      Cuz I think that the other floors were pretty consistent with their level themes
      Lobby: Castle
      Vacation Resort: places one would go for a vacation/wish they could go for a vacation
      Slums: Industrial
      Staff only: Horror and Trauma

      yep, the vigilante is the only ne that fight you for a *valuable reason*: he want to avenge the ones you killed ad plus, you entered illegally in the tower. Also, bc he doesn't show off and take the battle seriously, he never lower his guard.

    29:00 Peppino was originally planned to be a war veteran in older discord messages and the old lore documents, but got reconned by McPig on discord later on and by a chat message on Grayfruits stream of the game
    Also for the Mansion level as a whole, Grandpa Pepper was supposed to be a hazard since it was originally Peppermans mansion, then it got changed to a mansion owned by Fake Peppino and had the vegetable farmers as npcs to help Peppino but got cut due to it being too complicated mechanic wise.

      @petertheman-pb4wd one of the pizza tower contributors (Randy) said McPig was drunk when he wrote the message, but there's not much backing to what Randy said. The Grayfruit stream where mcpig confirm he wasn't a veteran was after the "drunk" messages.

      Peppino is now a war veteran, in the new "secret room" of the noise update, you can see medals with the italian flag

    - cheese dragon being everywhere is obviously & confirmed a bug
    - you could unlock lap 2 by beating a level normally
    - you wouldve had to chase noise back through the floors & beat noise gutter to get the key from him after the bossfight
    - not knight concept art but a placeholder for the level gate
    - basically everything you said about the dungeon music is wrong (teethdust remixes the theme, meatophobia intentionally used to play in whole rooms near john, not just when you got next to him)
    - strongcold isnt a cut level it was a hardmode for bloodsauce unintended for the full game
    - saying oregano desert doesn't have much trivia when noise traps, meatballs, and its pizzatime bg exist
    - first listed old and new backgrounds for dd9 are swapped. backgrounds are desaturated from the normal palette to make the background and foreground more distinct
    - pimpin' hot stuff not being changed wouldn't be a reference, more likely an oversight from when the song name was altered
    - noisette is noise's girlfriend
    - factory levelgate decor and the background are entirely different
    - gerome was the lap 2 for every level, you'd go back to the start, get him, and go back to the secret room
    - you can't get an infinite combo on kidsparty as you cannot do infinite laps
    - the war vet thing wasn't a headcanon, pig randomly retconned it because he's pig
    - the "war used to be different!" thing could apply to like.. every level... lol.....
    - skill issue
    - gerome is the last pickup in exit
    & negative points for forcing me to look at the peppina mod on a video about vanilla pt & using fandom wiki instead of miraheze

    The Crumbling Tower of Pizza's title card is the only place the combo ghost appears in outside of the combo meter itself

    There's actually a LOT that you missed with the game's trivia, here's some more fun facts!
    -The Tutorial (as it is) was only actually made after the Eggplant Build of Pizza Tower, the last patreon build before the game's release
    -John Gutter was actually the tutorial level after ETB, eventually being expanded into a whole level
    -Bloodsauce Dungeon used to be the harder version of Strongcold! So that would have made Bloodsauce Dungeon the Pizzascare equivilance of Strongcold's Pizzascape
    -On the topic of Strongcold , it actually had 3 different songs made for it: Teeth Dust in the Strongcold, Tower Ultimatum and Dungeon Ultimatum!
    -Further connecting Strongcold is that the two other songs for it were a reference to Grinch's Ultimatum, which was referenced in the unused level "Grinch Race", which eventually evolved into Oregano Desert!
    -Oregano Desert used to require going into at least one PizzaMart. Not for a Toppin, but for a key to progress through the level! The level also had unused boulders that would drop from the ceiling and crush Peppino, leaving him unable to move while an animation played!
    -Wasteyard used to have an enemy posession mechanic, along with movable tombstones to get out of the transformation. This was before priests were added to the game, where transformations had different ways of being removed!
    -Fun Farm actually has a very obscure mechanic; If you hold up or down mid-air and press the grab button in the Mort transformation, you can actually aim your attack up and down!
    -On the note of Fun Farm, Mort was actually going to be used in the unused Space Pinball level! A surprising amount of mechanics connected in earlier renditions, such as War having the pipes Oh
    Shit! uses.
    -Before Lap 2 was added, Gerome would be at the start of any stage, during Pizza Time, you'd collect him and go back to where the treasure is, ending the level!
    -The Vigilante was going to be another playable character, not being able to use transformations and having a health system that would re-collect by getting points! The Vigilante wouldn't be able
    to grab, but rather could shoot his pistol and throw dynamite using the unused "Shoot" button that would have defaulted to A on a keyboard.
    -The Pizza Granny that rambles in Floor 2 does not disappear after beating the game, Pizza Grannies are randomly cycled when you enter a floor!
    -Crust Cove used to actually start with a Ship section, then transitioning to the beach. The barrel mechanic used to also be different. Before Crust Cove was even made, the barrel would let you float on water.
    -Speaking of water, the game used to have underwater physics. It's what you'd expect, slower physics and whatnot.
    -Gnome Forest used to be like a maze, having to deliver pizzas that Gustavo would give you to certain ends of the map, then unlocking the route to destroy Pillar John.
    -In the Golf Demo, you could press (If I recall,) F4 in order to replace PizzaFace with Fake Peppino.
    -On the topic of Fake Peppino, in Staff Only, Fake Peppino would have been an enemy in the unused level "Mansion", of which the tiles for can be seen in the floor's secret Mansion room.
    -Snick was also originally a playable character in the Sage 2019 demo. After beating Snick's Challenge (a timed version of Pizzascape, Ancient Cheese and Bloodsuace Dungeon), you would unlock a block that, when jumped at from the bottom, would swap between Peppino and Snick!
    I'm going to stop the fun facts there. There are, like, twice as many facts I could list, but I'd rather not spend 10 minutes on typing those out, but basically every level of the game has a LOT more interesting facts to cover. Such as DMAS being a maze, or RRF and DeepDish 9 having you originally play as The Noise.

      The golf demo fact is also wrong. The key was f9 and while it is true that fake peppino would chase you during the escape sequence it was not in any way tied to the timer running out and it was also a full year before pizzaface was introduced in the boss build

    Why is there being a Meta Knight reference "looking into it too far" in a game filled with references to older games? I thought of Kirby and Meta Knight immediately when the Vigilante tossed Peppino the gun; it's a very well-known recurring motif.

    Nice video! Here are some more interesting thing I found in the game
    -John Gutter:
    -Instead of the music "unearthly blues", old builds play "Noise's Jam Packed Radical
    Anthem", which is a unused song
    -Oregano Desert:
    -Pizza-marts were originally used as a shop, where the player grabs coins from enemies
    and spend them on guns or shields in the marts
    -Wasteyard:
    -Originally, you would turn into a ghost when you get shot
    -Fun Farm:
    -The farmers were used to help you through a unused level called "mansion"
    -When having mort, hold up and press the attack button to see an up attack animation
    from mort
    -In old builds, you throw mort at the rats
    -Floor 3:
    -There is an unused duck clown transformation in the game files
    -There are also unused Noise clown animations
    -Crust Cove:
    -When taunting near a pin-a-cool, they will taunt with you. They would originally taunt
    and parry you in older builds.
    -Gnome Forest (Lario):
    -In old builds, you would deliver pizzas in this level. Instead of a pizza wizard
    -Brick was originally going to eat enemies instead of plowing them
    -GOLF:
    -The Big cheeses were originally able to move and have a death sprite
    -The Noise:
    -The Noise would originally cause pizza time
    -R-R-F:
    -In old builds, if you play as the noise in this level, you will need to get the washing
    machine and the noise would ride it around
    -Pizzaface/head:
    -Instead of the game's 3rd phase, pizzahead would attack peppino in a crazy way for a
    3rd phase

    The pizza granny does not disappear after beating the game, Pizza grannys have a randomized position everytime you go in a floor.

    3:40 Why is Let's Make This Quick here? Unless if you were an insane Pizza Tower player, you cant beat John Gutter w/ Lap 2 in 2 minutes I believe, 16:40 This was actually kept during Eggplant Build as the first one that I downloaded had sections where you play as Gustavo and Brick and some where you swap back to Peppino, 28:56 and another thing, Peppino used to be a war vet until one day McPig got drunk or something and said that he wasnt, doubled down in someone's stream before silently adding evidence to Peppino being a war vet in Peppino's room

    1-strongcoold was a hard mode version of bloodsauce so that means bloodsauce came first so your theory about the music is wrong
    2-bloodsauce dungeon music was inspired by intergalactic by the bestie boys, in older versions of bloodsauce music there was a sample of that song
    3-meatphobia playing in the last rooms was intended and not a bug or something like that

    According to Cray's recent livestream, this was because in one of the late Steam playtest builds, Sertif made an oopsie in the code that made it so that if the player enters the "Old Tower" room, the Cheese Dragon would be hanging around in every room in-game (which explains why in TetraBit's video, the Cheese Dragon is also seen at the top of Vacation Reaort, and in the boss arenas).
    The Tutorial level technically does have combo stuff enabled, however the score and such are only hidden from the player's view. Oddly, Gustavo's tutorial room in Gnome Forest was coded so that the combo timer would freeze, although the same has not yet been done for the regular tutorial (you can notably still see "That combo was Lame" shortly after breaking Pillar John).
    3:04 Even earlier than that, as it can also be seen in gameplay videos from as early as the first month of development (March 2018, around the 20th). The first background with the arches was sprited during development of Demo 2, and the softer shading was introduced between Grinch Race and January 2019.
    6:20 Bloodsauce Dungeon, and in turn, its theme "Dungeon Freakshow", had already existed by this point, being in the game as early as the Blue Block Land v3 build in late-July 2019. It was of course also present in the SAGE 2019 demo. Teeth Dust in the Strongcold was actually composed as a replacement for "The Dungeon Ultimatum", a song that mashed the melodies of Dungeon Freakshow, Grinch's Ultimatum, and Jingle Bells together (it wasn't added in-game, on account of the inability to contact PilotRedSun directly about the inclusion). It may be likely you never noticed it since pre-Fmod, the level music will reset when the secret music loops.
    9:41 On The Rocks isn't actually room-specific; If the player waits around for the music to end, Celcius Troubles will kick back in until Pillar John gets toppled.
    16:04 Supposedly the stream in question dates to early October 2022, and of what I can tell, the only surviving bit from the vod is the Lario meme itself. Development streams on Twitch (up to the legacy release) have been a frequent as early a series 2019, however a small amount of complete VODs have been preserved online, and the origin of Lario is unfortunately not one of them.
    The Pig City is the fifth level in-game to use music that wasn't initially composed for that specific level (Hot/Cold Spaghetti were first used for the Ancient level in the Halloween Demo and Demo 2, Theatrical Shenanigans was first heard in the Early Test Build, Yeehaw Deliveryboy originally played in Wasteyard, and Extraterrestrial Wahwahs was used in Space Pinball); Bite The Crust, originally called Soul Sewer, was originally conceived as a B theme for Oh Shit, while Way of the Pig was composed for the scrapped Kung Fu level.
    The bacon room is also one of two instances where a leftover type of pizza points can be found in-game; The other being the banana crates in Crust Cove. Alongside eggs, coffee and fish, these collectible pizza points, modeled after breakfast items, was one of the early conceived ideas for the extra collectibles that spawn during Pizza Time (these can be seen in action in the April 2021 build).
    Grandpa Pepper can be defeated if debug is used to transform the player into the knight; Also of worth note, the Lap 2 portal used to be there in the Eggplant build.
    23:46 This wasn't just an exclusive thing for Oh Shit, as in the 2021 builds, Gerome was universally the Lap 2 route for every level; The player would backtrack to the start as expected, and that's where Gerome sits around at. He can't be collected until Pizza Time has commenced. Upon retrieving him, the player is expected to go back to nearer the end of the level where the treasure door will reside. Then the player picks up the treasure to beat the level. This can be seen in action in the April 2021 and Rework builds.
    24:47 Fake Peppino's first role was as an additional obstacle during Pizza Time, which can be seen in the Golf and April 3rd builds of 2019 (the latter of which, pressing F9 is not a requirement). Also, mod footage. His next major role was when Mr. Stick was going to be the 4th boss, as Fake Peppino plays a notable part in Rework's Mansion level, copying the player's movement from finding a key, up to unlocking the door for the next floor.
    And for a few bits of additional trivia for the fifth floor; Staff Only's theme, Fridays, can be heard instead of Thursdays in Slum, in the Octobe22 build (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are the only hub themes heard in this build).
    And also, the first part of Unexpectancy, the boss theme for Pizzaface, was lifted from an older composition from Mr. Sauceman that pre-dates Pizza Tower itself, called "Calculator Fight".

    For western district you should've mentioned how there's an alternate design for it in the files, which presumably was made quite late into development because it's not in the october 2022 build but it is in the final game
    Ill add things i think you should've mentioned here:
    Peppibot factory's outside tiles were once used in the pig city
    This one's just an innacuarcy but gerome wasn't meant to be lap 2 for JUST Oh Shit! He was meant to be lap 2 for every level

    Lap 2 for any given level can be unlocked *for* that specific level by simply beating it once. The "All Lap 2 portals unlocked!" thing of the tutorial, if I'm assuming correctly, was added in so speedrunners could more easily get the "HOLY SHIT!!" judgement by P ranking a level the first time they play it on their save. That and to let experienced players unlock them "early" on a new save so they could, I guess, have that extra challenge earlier.

    Getting a 99 combo and beating the level in 2 minutes seem hard, but its surprisingly kinda easy, not only that but if you can get both achievements in john gutter you basically have the skill to p-rank it wich encourages new players to p rank an easy level

Also, the Demon enemies in GOLF are a reference to the Demon (dubbed the Pinky by the whole DOOM community) and Baron of Hell enemies from that game, the bottom half being the Baron, and the top half being the Demon

    Bloodsauce Dungeons music, Dungeon Freakshow, originally was made mainly using Beastie Boys samples. The "dun dun dun dun" melody was a sample from Intergalactic.

    You can revive Snotty by editing your save file. He has his own value that I think only gets created if you kill him. Just change it from a 1 to a 0 and he comes back.

    Oregano Desert’s UFO section has an unused background where you could be at the top of the ufo and see the glass.
    The pizza mart room used to be planned for more levels, being a place where you could buy shotguns with pizza coins, which you could get by rng from breaking some blocks.
    The wasteyard originally had the shotgun and fire mouth at one point in development
    The wasteyard had an unused mechanic where you could possess enemies with the ghost transformation and use their abilities for various tasks
    Peppino used to throw mort in fun farm, similar to how the noise does.
    Mort used to be used for carefully gliding down rather than a double jump.
    The vigilante used to be a playable character
    The pistol used in that fight used to be a side ability peppino had where he could collect bullets through the level dropped by enemies and use the pistol by pressing A
    In gnome forest, instead of playing as Gustavo, he would give peppino pizzas and a pizza order list, which he would have to deliver to get toppins. This would also give him an unused health “bar”, which was a pizza near his face. If he got hit too many times, he would get sent back to Gustavo via taxi where Gustavo would get angry at him and punch him a few times, loosing him points.
    The music for deep dish 9 used to be the pause theme apparently
    Golf used to have better and more precise aiming and a strength meter
    The bacon collectible in that room in pig city was one of many collectibles (others being banana, fish, eggs) that use meant to be used in pizza time, but was replaced by the clocks
    Grandpa pepper used to be used as a requirement for the knight transformation (you could only defeat him with that)
    The sewer escape theme wasn’t specific to that level. Pizzascape, peppibot factory, and deep dish 9 (the pause screen music) also had unused escape themes.
    25:57 The noise satellite used to be the way to end levels. Peppino would destroy it, the noise would come in and press a button which would start pizza time. The washing machine which the noise is riding used to be a transformation. Before noise was given the ability to run at Mach 3, he used a washing machine to break the metal blocks. Snick can also be seen here under a blanket.
    This may already be implied, but the mansion secret used to be a full level.
    Pizzahead used to have a 3rd phase, where both peppino and him would get enraged, but was replaced by a boss rush.

    - you unlock lap 2's alternatively with beating each level
    - ancient cheese also has a pizza statue with a leaf covering the private parts in the John pillar room
    - Bloodsauce dungeon is my favourite level to speedrun
    - you can ONLY destroy the Mort cube using Mort
    - I thought the background John in fastfood saloon was a door
    - in vigilante fight, you can instakill him repeatedly with combining chargeshots and regular ones
    - Noise has a unique clown car transformation
    - The other brick fairy nerfs previously the hardest spot to keep your combo in within Gnome forest
    - You can kill the pepper grandpa in Pig city as the Noise
    - I was making a DDR chart for Celsius troubles but scrapped it for repetitive rhythm
    - You can skip going down in pizza time of pizza scare if you are going Mach 4, as well as any other king ghost obstacles
    - No hitting pizza face gives you a really hilarious achievement

    a fun piece of trivia of my own: 23:23 i actually wrote the Antonball Deluxe reference entry on the wiki! another tidbit from there has to do with the Pickle enemies from Gnome Forest, with the graffiti of them having a tattooed acronym of their home game Memoirs of Magic. the creator of MoM, StrawberryOctii, also made the Mort cube model! it all comes full circle... or umm... cube rather?

    as far as the Vigilante - Meta Knight comparison, especially in early appearances like Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland and to a lesser degree Kirby Super Star's Meta Knight's Revenge, Meta Knight would refuse to begin the fight until Kirby picked up the sword power (In Super Star he'll eventually relent after a long wait, which is still a punishment of sorts since every stage in that mode is on a timer), so Vigilante refusing to begin fighting does line up pretty clearly there
    Also you touched on it but Crumbling Tower is oddly one of the most point-intensive p-ranks to get, honestly for most stages the point pickups are easier to just think of them as being used to extend your combo timer when needed, but the main chunk of points comes in from the combo itself. This is the only one that really makes you need to scrounge for points.
    Lastly i'm sure others mentioned it but the Vigilante was planned to be playable at some point, he played radically differently from Peppino and I think he had a limited amount of dynamite used for various actions/breaking steel blocks or something, as well as his revolver shots. Also via hacking you can still play as all of the "alternate" characters though in order of completion they go Noise > Vigilante > Pepperman (very very incomplete)
    Oh and the shotgun transformation used to be a general-use power-up that you could buy in Pizza Marts that were randomly placed in levels using coins that you could find throughout stages. If you want a good example of this, play the SAGE 2019 demo.

    Here's some other fun facts for some levels:
    Vacation resort: 1st of all, I am pretty sure that clown transformation was supposed to appear in one of the levels but was kept in a hidden room like the other scrapped stuff.
    Crust cove: Nothing much, but this is the only level where you can find pizza tower guy besides his blink and you'll miss it apperances in the levels
    Gnome forest: One of the original versions for this level was very different, with you having to go to gustavo and go deliver normal pizzas, this was replaced with the gnome pizzas.
    Noise: 1: Along side his apperance being based on the Noid, most of his attacks are based on old commercials. 2: (Not 100% sure on this one so take this with a grain of salt) Apperently before the Doise was planned as the alternative version of the noise. Mr Orange, Noise's brother was gonna be it (apperently based on yo noid).
    3: In one of the demos there used to be a different noise boss fights, althoug it probably wouldn't have replaced his normal boss fight.
    Fake peppino: Originaly fake Peppino wasn't gonna be the 4th boss but Mr Stick. (There was also a scrapped wasp boss but as far as I am aware it's unknown where it was supposed to appear)
    Staff only: The noise washing machine was gonna be a transformation for him.
    Don't make a sound: 1: Originaly don't make a sound was gonna be very different, having the monsters actually roam, and having the level be more open (Couldn't find footage of this so take this with a grain of salt as well)
    2: The pineapple toppin is the only one that can't jumpscare you in the final game, but originaly it had a jumpscare.
    3: The sausage monster is actually a dead person with a mask over his head, you can find that out by looking at the background depicting a bearded man with the same overalls as the sausage monster.

    It's a crime you didn't talk about how the music for Wasteyard is a double reference. Not only is Tombstone, Arizona a real town in Arizona that was known for being a town where gunfights frequently broke out during the "wild west", thus earning it the name "Tombstone", but Tombstone is also a brand of frozen pizza.

    great video! tbere were a lot of pretty good fun facgts and i learned a lot things, even if i knew most of these already. but here are some mistakes i noticed.
    everyone already pointed out 2:42
    3:29 - the reason is that after you defeat most bosses they show the last trick they have up their sleeve. pepperman turns small, vigilante has a shoot-out, fake peppino chases you and pizzahead has the crumbling tower of pizza. this would have been originally noise's send-off but it was thought of too late in development and got scrapped.
    6:20 - this is just not true. the track "dungeon freakshow" was one of the older tracks for the game composed in 2019 and "teeth dust in the strongcold" is a remix made for the sake of the 2019 x-mas break build's level "strongcold" which is a harder parody of bloodsauce dungeon. the only musical inspirations that the track has are an older track titled "phantom tower" which is actually one of the first tracks made for the game along "its pizza time" and a Beastie Boys song being used as a sample in the older versions of the track.
    7:00 - meatphobia would have been used in the level yes, but not excluively. meatphobia is also one of the first tracks composed for the game and its seen in old builds from 2018 that come from before bloodsauce dungeon was even conceptualized. meatphobia was always pillar john's theme.
    7:57 - not a mistake but this is a really funny joke.
    9:15 - this is about the side note. no she does not. she is not seen in the crumbling tower of pizza but once you beat the game she's still there.
    9:50 - john gutter is not one of the earliest conceptualized levels. it's from 2019, meanwhile desert is from late 2018.
    19:22 - very minor mistake. its not a typo, its an old outdated name. a lot of old names are used in the soundtest such as the gnome forest secret and war secret names.
    23:45 - the "lap 2" actually appeared in every level in the 2021 april build and it was never meant to be exclusive for this level.
    28:56 - this was never a headcanon, this is something mcpig stated but then later backpedelled on. also i dont understand why you added a smile there.
    32:23 - this level is not RANDOMLY generated. the sequence of secrets is random but all the rooms were desgined by mcpig.

    Peppino being a combat veteran isn't headcanon or fanon. In a drawing McPig did in response to someone asking if he'd play Team Fortress 2, he said it "hits too close to home" for him to enjoy himself. McPig confirmed later on that in the original Pizza Tower Discord. You might've heard talk of McPig de-canonizing this, but it was literally only for one night when McPig was drunk and sent a message saying Peppino *thinks* he's a war vet because he thought it was funny. McPig loves two things, and it's beer and trolling people.

    A personal favorite piece of trivia about Pizzahead is that he was initially going to have a phase where he was equally as pissed as Peppino, losing the showtune smile he always wears for sheer rage and likely a much more climactic fight in terms of difficulty. Personally, I prefer what we got with a full display of just how unstoppable Peppino is, though I do miss what could’ve been

    One fact about RRF is that the devs accidentally added an older version of don’t preheat your oven, it was fixed later on.

    Oregano Desert's first level build was based off an old Grinch build for a PTD contest.
    Pizzamarts were featured in the SAGE Demo as areas to purchase the shotgun item, which itself has a history of it's own: you could get it in any level, you retained the grab normally; you had to hold up and then press the grab button to shoot a crummy spreadshot, and getting hit with the shotgun would cause no points to be lost. Shotgun is now only found in DMAS, War, and TCToP.
    The firemouth transformation found in Oregano Desert had similarities to the very old bomb transformation and very obviously fire Wario. You had no control other than jumping and changing direction, otherwise you were speeding forward in the direction you were going. I believe pressing the grab button would fire a fireball too.
    The April Fools GOLF demo has a more specific DOOM reference on a billboard.
    Grandpa Pepper originally appeared in the unused Mansion level.
    McPig and the creator of AntonB are friends, and both characters are based off Wario.
    Fake Peppino was going to be exclusive to the Mansion level too.
    Whoops! You used the wrong jingle for Pizzascare...
    Don't Make a Sound has unused animations for the jumpscares, being 3D, removed presumably for memory reasons.
    Pizzaface's first phase might be based on SMW's final boss.
    Pizzahead had a completely different fight, with becoming a crazed angry maniac.
    TCToP is a nerfed version of "top", an unused final level, deemed too hard!
    Secrets of the World was not in the game at launch.

    Fun fact: All 3 bosses before [BOSS 4] were intended to be playable! If you go to your savefile, and edit your current character letter as N (noise), V (vigilante), and the only character to not have their letter as the one at the start of their name, M (pepperman). This is due to P being used for peppino. The others can all be only played as if you switch your charater to The Noise in "player_room characterselect_1 A". Pepperman was sadly the least developed one, while The Noise is FULL ON being developed. He had some first iterations, first, he would go on a pogostick and use his jetpack to fly sideways or upwards. Then, he was a slippier version of Peppino, and now he has a quicker uppercut, and a spinning move.

    Strongcold's theme was composed after Bloodsauce's composition got the "drunken square wave". Strongcold just uses it as it's main melody.

    stuff i've wanted to note on the trivia
    floor 1
    the cheese dragon spawned into every secret room INCLUDING BOSSES if you seen it once, im pretty sure it was because the cheese dragon had a variable or something set wrong
    the funky part of dungeon freakshow im pretty sure has always been there
    floor 2
    the mort block was originally for mort's own transformation block like how bombs and cheeseball had their own transformation block before being replaced by rats in the final game
    (trivia on fast food saloon that wasn't mentioned, during the escape sequence the people in the bg will disappear and gustavo will appear drunk when guiding you out)
    floor 3
    (trivia on gnome forest that wasn't mentioned, gnome forest would've originally been based around delivering pizzas that gustavo gives you in the level, because of gnome forest's 3rd secret nerf the pizza portal is introduced in gnome forest instead of deep dish 9)
    (trivia on deep dish 9 that wasn't mentioned, both the main song and secret song were originally meant for space pinball and the secret song name was originally "idk what to call this but its da secret in da pinball level")
    floor 4
    the grandpa was originally used for the cut mansion level and wasteyard, which was able to be killed by the knight transformation and ghost transformation
    gerome wasn't only just a lap 2 in oh shit, it was the lap 2 in every build before pizza portals were added
    (trivia on refridgerator-refridgerador-freezator that wasn't mentioned, originally the player would've had to go to different parts of the freezer to heat it up to unlock new areas and be able to get to john and a temperature meter on the right side of the screen showed the level of it and it can also melt by itself)
    (trivia on fake peppino that wasn't mentioned, fake peppino's wall run animation being the same as him running but turned could be a reference to how peppino's wall run at one point was just his mach 2 animation but turned)

    (missed trivia for wash n clean secret, snick reuses his sprite from noise's hardoween)
    (missed trivia on don't make a sound, originally when caught by a toppin monster that the pineapple monster alerts it'd show off a pineapple monster jumpscare instead)
    (just a comment on your reminder saying people tried to headcanon peppino being a war veteran, mcpig has said stuff about peppino being a war veteran and not, a good example of this is a tweet in august 1st 2022 where mcpig was asked what peppino's thoughts on tf2 were and mcpig said "Stresses him out too much. Hits a bit too close to home." with a drawing of peppino looking stressed while playing tf2)

    One could argue that The Ancient Cheese was the first level ever made for Pizza Tower, despite not being called that at the time, in all early builds, the first level was known as "Ancient" and Demo 0's level had Theatrical Shenanigans as its theme. It could also be argued that it's a combination of John Gutter and Ancient Cheese, however.
    I don't know which one came first, but either Peppibot Factory or Oregano Desert are the next first conceptualized levels. Factory appearing in Demo 2, but I don't know if Desert came before Demo 2 in patreon builds

    Lap 2 is not only unlocked by beating the tutorial under 2 minutes, you actually individually unlock lap 2 portals after you beat a level once. The tutorial just unlocks all of the lap 2 portals at once.

    I'mma throw this bonus fact out there cuz I'm friends with the person involved;
    Crust Cove was initially going to be called a different name in-between the final name and the initial name 'Pineapple Beach'. During one of McPig's dev streams, my aforementioned friend suggested the name Crust Cove, which ended up sticking

    There’s a couple things, Gustavo becoming a rat in pizzascare is an idea for a pizza tower tv show, don’t make a sound was originally a “free roam” where the monsters would walk around the building and there were multiple floors and rooms and collectin a toppin spawned in their own monster, the jump scares were also meant to be in 3d, that’s not everything just some stuff

    Bonus trivia:
    Peppibot Factory- The song "Peppino's Sauce Machine" was so misheard by fans; they constantly heard the voice in the back of it saying "DOOR STUCK, DOOR STUCK". This became such a meme that Mr. Sauceman himself actually made a meme version of the track called "Peppino's Door Problem", which actually used the "DOOR STUCK!" clip in it.
    Oh Poo!- This is another stage that had its escape sequence nerfed to make it easier to maintain a combo; originally, the first cheese ball room didn't have any Stupid Rats blocking the arrow blocks, which made it very annoying to maintain a combo. This was changed to be a bit more fair. I can confirm, it was painful getting past that room when P-Ranking... It was one of the worst choke points. Still not as bad as Pizzascare's ramp though.
    Don't Make A Sound- This stage is based off of Five Nights at Freddy's, that much is obvious. But what's strange is that McPig has claimed he has never actually played a single Five Nights game in his life. Maybe he's one of those people that just watched the games? I dunno.

    Grandpa Pepper used to be a special blockade in Wasteyard where you can only get past him as Ghost Peppino (similar to Stupid Rat). This is why he has the special ability to hurt you even in invincibility frames

    The chef task room backgrounds from worlds 1 through 3 are the backgrounds from the scrapped level Space Pinball.
    World 4's background for the chef task room was for the scrapped level Kung Fu.

    The Peppibot Factory colorful background was used before release but changed due to it being too distracting. Oh Shit! was not the only level to have Gerome as its Lap 2, every level was supposed to use Gerome as its Lap 2 back in April 2021's Patreon Build.

    That Pizza Granny on floor 2 doesn't disappear when you beat the game. Pizza Granny's either show up or don't when you enter a floor. It's like it alternates between half of the Granny's to appear, and the other half don't? If you want to see a specific Granny just.. reenter the floor with the elevators

    For Bloodsauce I would've also included that the original version of the music for the stage had to be changed. The melody is taken straight from Intergalactic by the Beastie Boys, the original version of this song sampled the song itself while the version in the final game has its own instruments

    John Gutter is actually the place where failed experiments of cloning John go, since John was cloned and was put at the end of every level in the game (besides war and secrets of the world).

    Surprised you didn't mention that the toppin monster jumpscares were originally going to be done in a prerendered style similar to FNAF.
    Also people don't "headcanon" Peppino as a war vet, that was heavily implied if not outright confirmed by McPig, especially with the secret added in the Noise Update.

    The rat fairies are pretty much only around because of Gnome Forest getting its P rank nerfed. The other section they appear was a common spot to lose the combo before the rat fairies were added.
    Also, the Noise Update fixed DMAS to not having animatronics count to the combo. So it now has a maximum combo of 106.

    Fun fact: there's a scrapped 4th phase for Pizzaface where he just goes absolutely insane. Also, Peppino would become red and... get naked once the phase begun

    Another fun fact about The Vigilante is that he actually changes the wanted poster he examines at the beginning of the fight if you play as The Noise.
    The wanted poster of Peppino shows him as a drunk, shirtless loser.
    The wanted poster of The Noise depicts him as super buff and macho, smiling.
