Reading these comments, I don't know what to say, it's so humbling. Thank you so much. That this means something to you means so much to me and to us. And I know it would to Paul too.
Josh Gordon Dude, your band and others of the like were the soundtrack of my youth. Listening to this song after so many years brought me all the way back to the best times of my life. Thank you.
I left you a message above, but I just discovered your album by stealing it off my dad. I was sad to hear of his passing. He looks like the kind of guy I'd be friends with.
You were one of the groups I hold dear to this day, your music spoke to my generation. You might not be as popular as some of the other bands from that time, but you’re just as important
I just wanted to say thanks for posting. I'm blown away by the comments. When you're out there doing the major label thing, it's like being in a vacuum. It's difficult, if you're not selling a lot of records, to know that there are people that like and get what your doing. It means more than you can know that you guys like the music. Thanks! -Josh Gordon (Bass - Greta)
I stole this album off of my Dad recently (I loved the cover) and instantly fell in love with the music. Well, here I am. People are still discovering your music in 2020.
I watched you guys on New Years in Portland Oregon with Sybil Vane (another underrated band) and Candlebox. I've been to hundreds of shows but hands down that was one of my absolute favorite shows. You all 3 were phenomenal live. The energy that night was off the charts. I listen to your music to this day and remember the good times with epic shows that make you love a band.
Holy shit, this is good. So glad Beavis And Butthead brought me here. The vocals are amazing. And as a dude who sometimes likes to wear skirts and dresses today, any guy who was doing it way back in the early 90s had to have some serious guts.
You still do! You 🤡's are just being used by those at the top as another way to cause division, lol. They don't seriously think it's "normal" or support it!! They absolutely KNOW it's a m3nt@l thing and pretend it's normal!!
I've been looking for this for years on UA-cam. I remembered the video from beavis and butthead. it instantly grabbed me. I always wondered why they didn't "make it" they had a great sound for that time. I miss the 90s. best music ever
I remembered liking this song on Beavis and Butt-Head but didn't remember the name until I watched today one of the classic episodes that has had the video section restored. This band is going to get a bump in popularity because of B&B, it was a rocking song in the 90s and isn't dated at all.
Butt-Head: That guy fell over. Beavis: Yeah, he's gonna get kicked out of the band. Butt-Head: Yeah! That dude in the dress doesn't put up with that crap! Beavis: Yeah! "YOU STAND UP STRAIGHT, PLAY YOUR GUITAR, AND *_SHUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!_* "
The dichotomy between the angular guitar slashing and the beauty of the chorus is what got me to buy this cd. Although there are no other songs at all like this I'm glad I did. IMO one of the finest releases of the entire decade!
I just discovered this band. I lived through the 90’s and thought I had heard it all. I saw these guys on a B&B rerun. The entire album is great. It is quintessential 90’s but it is its own thing.
+Jay M Shitty. I saw them in Phoenix with White Zombie and Sepultura. There were some nazi ass fools in the audience talking shit about his dress. So he summarily pulled it up and snaked them. I still laugh about that. They went ballistic and the bouncers, well bounced them. :-)
"Whoa, a toilet Cool!!" "Yeah, toilets are cool. They figured, like, since the song was getting wimpy right there, they might as well just throw a toilet out there."
My brother bought No Biting on CD after seeing it on Beavis and Butt-Head like 15+ years ago. It's been a staple in our collection ever since! Very underrated band and album for it's time
This is an awesome song - took me years to find it after seeing it on B&B ! I remember it got the B&B seal of approval too - which was rare on their show !
At 4:21, that's Dave MacDonald's crash at the 1964 Indianapolis 500. The car blew up like a bomb and there was a huge fire. When he slid back across the track, he was hit by Eddie Sacks. Both MacDonald & Sacks were killed. One of the worst incidents in the history of the speedway.
This song brings a tear to my eye. It's like that diggadiggadaaah part is pretty cool but when the guitar goes clean and it slows down it's just so beautiful.
I saw this video when it first aired and bought the CD the next day. Loved it then and still do in 2024. "Nature" is another great song. Great time to rock.
"Fathom, sinking so much deeper, feeling so much better, drinking in the air Dreaming that I'm only sleeping, floating down and thinking it's so much better here..."
I was obsessed with No Biting and This is Greta! when I was in middle school and high school. They may not have ever gotten the acclaim as other bands of the era, but they certainly did capture the essence of the time. But even though the sound is so obviously 90s to someone that lived in that time, I think it holds up in its own right for any fan of rock. My kids enjoy listening to this stuff nearly 30 years after it came out, which I think is saying something.
Get the album (No Biting). The musicianship is first rate. Kyle Baer is or should be a studio muscian with his vast knowledge of various music styles such as Rock, Blues, Jazz and even Hawaiian. Ya, and their use of fast odd time measures is mind blowing. Probably the most under rated band ever. Kyle is certainly the most under rated guitarist EVER. Makes me wonder why their second album (This Is Greta) is probably the worst album ever recorded. Were they upset with their record company?
I first saw this video on MTV Headbangers Ball in 1993. Greta was a great band which wasn't really grunge or metal. They were more of a post hardcore band in my honest opinion.
These guys are a great bunch of guys. I met them on myspace. I made their wikipedia page for them. No joke. It even says Euvi85 on the history for it ;)
Wow, I forgot about how good these guys were. I'm listening to No Biting for the first time in like 20 years and it's a killer album from start to finish. It's a real shame that they didn't make it big.
Yeah is is totally hilarious! I met him over the summer after his mom's house flooded. I came out to work on the phone lines. He showed me his drum collection I was blown away!
Woohoo RocknRoll! & not a single dislike! All is well here, dreaming that I'm only sleeping-fathom,sinking so much deeper, feeling so much better-Yes indeed! ROCKNROLL!
The whole first album is fantastic. I can't find my CD of the 2nd album but the rawness and heaviness of the first album was definitely amiss. I was happy as hell to see the video on Beavis and Butthead after already owning the CD thanks to finding it in a CD warehouses garbage from having a damaged jewel case. Down the road I wound up buying it again as it wound up being all scratched up from lots of play.
A great un-sung band of the 90'. Was just throwing out a bunch of old crap I had in my closet and had cassete tapes(yeah, those) and old cd's and came upon this beauty and other's and havent been able to put it down along with other great bands that unfortunatly did not make it big time. Great album especially NATURE.
Beavis n Butthead reruns brought me here like many others. This must not have gotten much airtime r something cuz this was the music i was into back then n would be instantly loved it if I'd heard it then. But at least I found it now, n instantly loved it! Another under rated band that didn't get the recognition they deserved. Thanks Beavis n Butthead. 😆 ✌
Always loved this song, but sadly never found the album in my country (Spain). I think it was in 2006, I was rewatching B&B and after listening to this song again, I searched on the internet and found the album in ebay, from a shop in Australia! I instantly bought it and this song has been on my "All-time classics" folder ever since.
It's too bad that bands like Greta, Helmet and other TRULY alternative acts were buried when "Seattle" bands became the new trend in music. Don't get me wrong - there is nothing bad about Seattle grunge, but it became such a marketing success the record companies were always looking for the next Nirvana or Pearl Jam.
had one more album come out in the mid 90s, "This is Greta!", which I liked but it was totally different from No Biting. Apparently they had some disagreement with either their label or their manager on the style of the band and this 2nd record was supposed to reflect that. My guess is that the entire band was probably heading in divergent ways. IIRC the drummer went on to form Rage Against the Machine.
Singer Paul Plagens died in 2015. Some say it was suicide or overdose but it's only a rumor. Brad Wilk played drums in Greta but left to join Rage against the machine
@@ruf1980 It wasn't either a suicide or overdose but Paul would definitely enjoy the rumor! It was chronic health issues. Brad made a strong career choice! :-) He's a extraordinarily good drummer!
the brief clip @ 4:21 is from the 1964 Indianapolis 500. Several complete clips of it are here on UA-cam. If you like death, devastation, explosions, fire and total destruction, you will see it on one of those videos. It's amazing.

Same here! I have no idea how this band didn't end up on my radar back then. Ah well, I'm here now.
I LOVE THIS BAND! What a grand enigma. "NO BITING" is just as essential as "NEVERMIND" in the grand scheme of guitar rock.
Aw man, apparently Paul Plagens, the vocalist for this band died this year :( RIP
+Bill Paglierani Hahaha thats awesome!
+Jay is true, so sad, i had the chance to talk to him and tell him how awesome was their music. R.I.P Paul
kazuo Thats really cool, do we know how he passed?

Whoa, is this Faces of death
Still a great song from a great album by a great band.
This song brings a tear to my eye. It's like that diggadiggadaaah part is pretty cool but when the guitar goes clean and it slows down it's just so beautiful.
Any guy with long hair and wears a dress is someone I want to be friends with! RIP
The drummer went on to help co-found Rage Against The Machine... neat stuff.
That's correct, he's not on this song or album. I don't think he recorded with Greta.
Sounds like Faith No More and Voivod collaborated
Saw these guys a couple times in Milwaukee. Super nice dudes and they rocked live. They certainly blew Candlebox off the stage.
I was in a band years ago and when I overheard the support band say 'We're going to blow them offstage' I said, 'A handshake will be fine.'
Like Getty Lee/Rush meets grunge
The best teenage sounds for me. Memories of the pains we conquer. Dreaming that I am sinking. Feeling so much better.....aaahh 👍
R.I.P Paul
Best chorus evah...it still rings through my head after all these years...
Beavis & Butthead brought me here. Who says they're useless?!
I saw this video when it first aired and bought the CD the next day. Loved it then and still do in 2024. "Nature" is another great song. Great time to rock.
Who else found them through Beavis and Butthead?
"Fathom, sinking so much deeper, feeling so much better, drinking in the air
Dreaming that I'm only sleeping, floating down and thinking it's so much better here..."
wish the entire lyrics where published somewhere, not sure why I can't find them
Mi carnal tenia sus discos, y lo losbgrabe a casette en la secundaria del 93 -96 pasaba escuchando en el walkman muchas horas...
I can't believe how old this shit is now. Seems like just a few weeks ago I saw this on beavis and butthead.
BUT MEEEEEEAAAAAHHH!
That sucked, Beavis.
Dammit, Beavis. Don't you care about anyone else but yourself?
Surprised this band didn't become bigger after Beavis and Butthead aired the song.

i love this band. Im from Argentina. i seach, but only search GRETA VAN FEET........and now im HAPPY, thank you so much,
This band was the reason some hippie swedish parents named their first born Greta.
among the amazing music Beavis and Butthead introduced me to,.. :D
sounds like ahybrid of mother love bone and gruntruck

I couldn't agree more! I always thought Kyle totally should have been a guitar hero. Absolutely stunning guitarist!
I first saw this video on MTV Headbangers Ball in 1993. Greta was a great band which wasn't really grunge or metal. They were more of a post hardcore band in my honest opinion.
Their first album is loaded with Metal riffs.
Shit, the main riff to this very song is a Metal riff.
These guys are a great bunch of guys. I met them on myspace. I made their wikipedia page for them. No joke. It even says Euvi85 on the history for it ;)
If it wasn't for thier crappy label these guys would have continued making good shit...
shit he dresses like a woman but hell itz an aws track dude
Wow, I forgot about how good these guys were. I'm listening to No Biting for the first time in like 20 years and it's a killer album from start to finish. It's a real shame that they didn't make it big.
I have both albums by this band. There really needs to be a Greta reunion.
Unfortunately the singer passed in 2015.
Great song! Awesome video! R.I.P. Paul Plagens...
"WHOA, IS THIS FACES OF DEATH 3?!"
"No, it's just a video, butt-munch."
Great find! I am from Peru and they used to air this video in a Rock/Metal TV show (UHF independent channel) back in the 1990's. Great times!
Yeah is is totally hilarious! I met him over the summer after his mom's house flooded. I came out to work on the phone lines. He showed me his drum collection I was blown away!
Still to this day one of the best song/video combos I have ever experienced. Thanks. :)

Beavis and Butthead sent me!
I designed the Greta Wikipedia page. I got to talk with the members of this band. The lead singer is really a nice guy.
You did the wikipedia page? Thank you!!!
Whoa, a toilet. Toilets are cool.
A great un-sung band of the 90'. Nature is another good sobgvon tgis album and off the slug... And..bwell, all of them are pretty good once you get into it

This song got into my head a couple weeks ago, and I thought I'd never find it, but I did.
Killer song.
Loved this band as a kid.
I was like "No way!" when I saw them on Beavis and Butthead years later.
All these years later, and I still wonder if these guys were fans of Thin Lizzy - Massacre.
A homeless guy gave me this CD for $2... why didn't this band go farther? So unique..
I always thought that main chuggin riff to be like a mighty morphin power ranger type of riff
Take this band, this song out of my life-I’m a completely different person
No Biting still lives in my truck's cd player to this very day!!!! Thanks for the vid!!!
my childhood...was awesome...because we had stuff like this!!!
This was on Beavis and Butt-Head when they were commenting on the music videos.

Don't get me wrong - there is nothing bad about Seattle grunge, but it became such a marketing success the record companies were always looking for the next Nirvana or Pearl Jam.
There were simply too many awesome bands at the time to put the attention they all deserved.
Also no internet so we basically got what MTV aired.
What happened to these guys

No biting is a great album.
Huhuhuh this video is cool because it has a toilet in it that gets smashed into pieces.
I will be ever thankful to Beavis and Butthead
it's cool
This song is BAD!!!

i loved this song!

No algebra or history tonight and the teachers can all retire...
0:57 I wonder if there is a turd inside it?
Breavis ahd butthead send me here 💪
Scottie is a buddy of mine. He is a down to earth dude.

Both albums not only kick ass, they stomp the shit out of said ass as well.
