I've heard tons of early music in my life, but I can't recall enjoying any more than I've enjoyed listening to this pair.

I got this on repeat. My favorite rendition of Piccinini's Ciaccona.

    Dear Luca!
Thank you for your great comments we are really happy our music brings you joy:) The Guitar is by Philippe Mottet - Rio.
The theorbo is by Klaus Jacobsen. Baroque lutes are also by Jacobsen and Richard Berg.
Strings are Pyramid with really high tension. (3.kg each of the double course) Theorbo - 4,5 kg each.
    Warmest wishes from Poland, AA

The ciaccona is such a beautiful musical form and this duo carries them off to perfection. Wonderful playing, wonderful listening! Congratulations and thanks.

Was that two hand tapping technique on the guitar, at the end of the piece, performed as instructed by the composer?

This is really wonderful, but I think it owes at least as much to Monteverdi as to Piccinini! (Or should I say, I think this owes at least as much to Monteverdi, and it is really wonderful!)
