    I'd never thought to paint my tufts a bit to tie them in... great tip, thanks.

      dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother these days =)

    More (albeit slightly older) pearls of wisdom. This is so helpful with doing a bark base I'm just pulling together. :)

      Thanks Micky, very much appreciated, it was good to get it down all the way through, and you always think more deeply when recording.

    Very nice, very convincing looking base. Honestly, I can't believe this video is over an hour because it didn't really feel like it was that long as I was watching.
    On a side note, I recently started going to Scenic Express for some basing products; it looks like they're mainly aimed at model railroads, but a lot of their stuff like flock and leaves can be used for miniatures as well. One of the products I picked up was some of their blended turf, I believe they call it, which is a nice flock because its got a lot of textures mixed into it.

      Yep, I have used a few of their products as well. Model Railroad stuff is great to mine for basing material. As a side note, watching their tutorials on UA-cam is also good to check out, as many of them have been doing this for decades and have become pretty good at creating little scenes.

      Vince Venturella would really like to know how you did the greens on the model

    • @VinceVenturella
      @VinceVenturella  7 років тому

      If you mean on the treeman, that is a combination of 3 greens out of Scale 75 Fantasy Unnatural Flesh set as well as white and black. Just glazes and layers blended over zenithal undershading.

    That was a really clever pose for the oval base. Curious if you aligned all your Treemen facing that side? Did you find that was the prominent foward direction you move them when playing? Epic base and tutorial Vince! 💚

      @VinceVenturella  3 роки тому

      I actually had them in different directions, just for variance. :)

      I can see that! The posing is awesome, too. I love the models and simply got a treeman because it is just sooo pretty and painted it up what I believe to be quite good, but I think my basing needs to step up a notch so it can really pop! Love the tips and tricks... going to paint my tufts!

    Hey Vince, I’ve been wanting to use some deadwood on my own Sylvaneth bases like here and I was wondering if you did anything extra to prepare it like stripping off the bark or sealing it with something. Just slightly worried that it might start falling to pieces after a while
    Thanks

    • @VinceVenturella
      @VinceVenturella  4 роки тому +1

      Not really, but if you want to be safe, just give them a nice coat of varnish.

  • @maximelevolle5773
    @maximelevolle5773 5 років тому

    That's some cool stuff ! btw, what grey did you use for the first coat on the rocks?

    • @VinceVenturella
      @VinceVenturella  5 років тому +1

      The first grey is my standard zenithal, so Panzer Grey (a black/grey), cold grey and a little dead white.

    • @maximelevolle5773

      @@VinceVenturella so you made 3 coat ? one of each of them?

    Around 11:33 you used Intense Wood from Scale 75 for the tree. Could you recommend an alternative to that from Vallejo or GW?

    • @VinceVenturella
      @VinceVenturella  3 роки тому +1

      Sure, Daler Rowney FW ink Burnt Umber or Sepia, Game Color Sepia ink, both of those are close.

    Do you have a video about pinning? I think it’s super easy but, uh, a...friend 😏 is confused by how you do it and when.

      You know, that has been on my list forever, I really should make a video about it. I will bring it up to the top.

    Quick question, will that real piece of tree not decay over time?

    • @VinceVenturella
      @VinceVenturella  3 роки тому

      As long as it's completely dried out, it won't have any issue.

      Natural stuff can be really varied, as you have such wide variance in nature.
