I’ve become addicted to these hobby cheating videos. They are so educational yet SOOO relaxing. You’re the bob ross of figure painting.
Thank you, that's an incredible compliment and I am always happy to help. :)
That is one amazing looking base. I love the way you can make it look so realistic. Thanks for showing the whole process.
Thank you very much, happy to help as always.
I'd never thought to paint my tufts a bit to tie them in... great tip, thanks.
Thank you, it's a big one and you will be amazed how much more organic they look.
dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother these days =)
@Vicente Cason Yup, I've been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
Very nice, very convincing looking base. Honestly, I can't believe this video is over an hour because it didn't really feel like it was that long as I was watching.
On a side note, I recently started going to Scenic Express for some basing products; it looks like they're mainly aimed at model railroads, but a lot of their stuff like flock and leaves can be used for miniatures as well. One of the products I picked up was some of their blended turf, I believe they call it, which is a nice flock because its got a lot of textures mixed into it.
Yep, I have used a few of their products as well. Model Railroad stuff is great to mine for basing material. As a side note, watching their tutorials on UA-cam is also good to check out, as many of them have been doing this for decades and have become pretty good at creating little scenes.
More (albeit slightly older) pearls of wisdom. This is so helpful with doing a bark base I'm just pulling together. :)
Awesome, happy to help as always. :)
wow man finished product looks amazing. great paint job on the model too!
Thank you sir, much appreciated.
Vince Venturella would really like to know how you did the greens on the model
If you mean on the treeman, that is a combination of 3 greens out of Scale 75 Fantasy Unnatural Flesh set as well as white and black. Just glazes and layers blended over zenithal undershading.
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Thank you 👍
Beautiful
Thanks!
Around 11:33 you used Intense Wood from Scale 75 for the tree. Could you recommend an alternative to that from Vallejo or GW?
Sure, Daler Rowney FW ink Burnt Umber or Sepia, Game Color Sepia ink, both of those are close.
That was a really clever pose for the oval base. Curious if you aligned all your Treemen facing that side? Did you find that was the prominent foward direction you move them when playing? Epic base and tutorial Vince! 💚
I actually had them in different directions, just for variance. :)
Fantastic video!
Thank you sir, much appreciated!
Really great video, I got lots of tips out of this.
Thank you, glad I was able to help as always.
That's some cool stuff ! btw, what grey did you use for the first coat on the rocks?
The first grey is my standard zenithal, so Panzer Grey (a black/grey), cold grey and a little dead white.
@@VinceVenturella so you made 3 coat ? one of each of them?
Hey Vince, I’ve been wanting to use some deadwood on my own Sylvaneth bases like here and I was wondering if you did anything extra to prepare it like stripping off the bark or sealing it with something. Just slightly worried that it might start falling to pieces after a while
Thanks
Not really, but if you want to be safe, just give them a nice coat of varnish.
Quick question, will that real piece of tree not decay over time?
As long as it's completely dried out, it won't have any issue.
"want to make the tree feel more alive" and the tree is broken in half :D haha, anyways, great video, gave me a lot of tips!
Well, that poor tree was a little dead...but some might make it through. :)
yeah that's true! I've been watching some of your videos the last couple of days and they have given me some great tips! I'm currently waiting on my first army in warhammer AOS, going with Stormcast eternals. any last minute advice? :)
Hi Vince, have you see the new snow product of Green Stuff World to make incredible effect ,totally beautiful,GSW showed it on their UA-cam channel !👍❤❤
I did see it, I'd like to give it a try for sure.
Wooooooooah beautiful............... need to rebase my treeman!
Thank you, I have tried to go all the way with this army for sure :)
I can see that! The posing is awesome, too. I love the models and simply got a treeman because it is just sooo pretty and painted it up what I believe to be quite good, but I think my basing needs to step up a notch so it can really pop! Love the tips and tricks... going to paint my tufts!
Do you have a video about pinning? I think it’s super easy but, uh, a...friend 😏 is confused by how you do it and when.
You know, that has been on my list forever, I really should make a video about it. I will bring it up to the top.
aren't these out of scale
Natural stuff can be really varied, as you have such wide variance in nature.
Good to see that the Woodprix has new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
