On November 6, 2011 at a competition in Verona Italy Hickstead collapsed shortly after finishing a round an died from a aortic rupture. At the time,he was paired with Eric Lamaze the number one rider in the world. Eric Lamaze praised hickstead in 2006:.he was a awsome horse everybody will remember him 🐴 😇
Waiting for part 2. Please post it. The end is known, but everything before is spectacular. Does anyone know if Hickstead produced any foals? He was a stallion after all. Would be nice to know if there are any little Hickstead's around. Thank you for this, so much great information about a great horse. And to Eric and his crew my deepest condolences on your loss.
Get a medium port bit. With a brass roller bead on it. It really calms a nervous or fake nervous horse. Like a horse fidget. This bit might be making him nervous foam at the mouth
G’day y’all. Spewing didn’t get to see part 2. On the 6th November 2011 while bleeding internally this great champion finish the round. Sadly his heart gave way passing away, falling down from his feet sideways into the grass of the competition in Verona Italy. The vision of the day, what happened to him & everybody that saw it happen live or watched it on a screen remembers it to this day. I know I do. RIP: Sir Hickstead. 😢🐴 You left a legacy. Gone to soon. 🐴 God bless 🙏🏼🐴 Cheers from my Great Southern Land Stralya 🇦🇺❤️🐴😢 Peace ✌🏽 Anita.S 😔👏🏽💯❤️🐴🙏🏼🇦🇺😎
N importe qui peut mourir d un problème cardiaque sa aurait pu arriver aussi bien dans un champs les chevaux sont fragiles de nature laisser se très grand champions en paix
The only value this horse had to these people is how high he could jump and if he "could get the job done." Zero compassion whatsoever. I don't understand why half of people who work with horses have chosen this career path in the first place, as they seem to not love horses at all. And the sappy music makes it even more disgusting, knowing he died for being pushed to the breaking point and injected with steroids. Eric Lamazes (his rider interviewed here) showed him no compassion when he died in front of him and was slapping him with his crop to make him get back up. This "experienced professional rider" who owns stables didn't seem to understand that if a healthy and athletic 15 years old horse collapses all of a sudden it means something is seriously wrong.
Would be nice to see part 2!! We all know it’s a sad ending but it’s be nice to see it

All living creatures can have collapsed arteries, a heart attack all of a sudden. It could also hit you…
So, your accusations make no ground
