If it doesn't bleed, then it isn't really living. The music of Maladjusted is about coming to terms with your own self dissonance, and the often harsh acceptance of one's own flaws. Whether accompanied by subtle soaring rhythms, or seemingly masked by brazen screams and grinding guitars the passionate intensity of the lyric soak through with the yearning honesty of a deathbed confessional.
From the beginnings in nowhere U.S.A. when (singer/guitarist) Chris Andrus and (drummer) Jason Chynoweth crossed paths in their mid teens, to their relocation to Salt Lake City where they banded with (bassist) Clark Taylor and later (guitarist) Brian Grella, the music of Maladjusted rings genuine over genre. Two previous albums, 1998's "maladjusted." and 2000's "mud in it" have earned the band a well deserved spotlight in and around its Salt Lake domicile. After years of growing into their four-piece mold the band is eager to take their art abroad with the release of 2003's "laugh track."
As of current Maladjusted is laying the tracks for a full length follow up due out 2004 and is seeking industry support, all the while maintaining a DIY attitude. Plans are underway for touring throughout the summer and fall of 2003. Maladjusted believes in their music and are ready to pour it to the masses. In a drowning pool of pseudo macho-ism and a get up and mosh mentality, the world of hard rock needs an outlet, that outlet is Maladjusted.
