Sprucewood...I also partake in the “burger and beer ride” on my KTM 300 starting at Rainbow Falls. It’s a fun ride for something less challenging and laid back, 60 miles total. Not much for great single track in that area, but some fun riding that’s close to home with some more technical sections if you know where to look. I'll do that shootout once I have both. One of my friends bin Canada already has both. He prefers the T7 for tight technical stuff and the 790 for faster flowy stuff and longer rides
Love the sound of the exhaust. Its like my old 990R. Was the install plug and play with the decat? Or was there some mapping needed? Any change to power? Great Vid
It was just bolt it in and go. It doesn't need a tune but ROTTWEILER will be doing a Power Commander in it in a couple weeks when I'm home with one of their custom maps
What tires did you say are on that bad boy? Looking at tires like the motoz dessert ht but i want some more wet weather oriented tire due to living in a rainforest lol
I'm running the Dunlop 908RR front and rear right now. Much softer rubber than the MZ tires... But much quicker wear as well Slippery in mud still as it has a big adv block out back
If you want a good wet weather tire... You're going to have to get a MX Style tire instead of a ADV tire. It won't be DOT legal or meet the weigh / power requirements of what a tire should be for a bike this size I like the 140 IRC M5B out back and a GT 217aa up front in the 90/90 size. Both aren't recommend for the bike.... But are awesome Rear knobbs will rip off if you race desert with them and are on the gas all the time
Hi I wish you had time to show your buddy on his 790s with the R suspension. It is what I need. When I asked the two KTM Dealer's near me they said it can't be done .. I'm in the UK
How is your camera mounted? I thought on a helmet mount, but I can see your helmet moving around in the frame, which wouldn't happen if it was rigidly mounted to the helmet. Also, what did you do to the suspension? I have a 790R and I'm just setting it up.
@@EverySingleSunday Well the good news is the local guys from the BB club hang out on .38 to watch the carnage...no way they don't give you some help....once they are over the shock of a 790 giving it a go... Pulling for you....you got this....I finished 9th a few years ago...I was blowing snot bubbles by the end riding a 350xcf....you are a madman....in the good way hahahaha...
Yep, AXP on all of my bikes. I think they are the best on the business for people that actually ride offroad I'm not a fan of crash bars. They hang up on rocks and are heavy.
Stock KTM handguards with the ROTTWEILER Performance mirror mounts and mirrors I plan on switching to the Cycra handguards but keeping this mirror setup. I love it
I know its a weird question to put over here but did you have any experience with the 950/990 bikes ? Would you recommend one for someone who cant afford a 700 or 790?
Ya, the 950/990 is an amazing bike for sure. If you can find ne in good shape I would jump on it. The 990 is the fuel injected version of the 950/990 if you weren't aware. The 950SE Was the top model for off-road if you are looking for one. I think there was an erzburg Edition as well one year
#1 goal is to ride for me. Chest mount is too low for an ADV bike and isn't stabilized enough. I usually Mount off my chin instead of the side of my helmet but having issues making it work on this helmet with a microphone
yeah for sure, that's not at all single track lol..but it does seem perfect for big ADV bikes that want to have some trail fun.. The 770 would be a bit much for those big bikes, although certainly doable..TRUE mountain/woods single track would be impractical if not impossible for those machines.
Just finished filming some real single track up at gold creek lodge in Idaho. Not sure if the video will be posted here or on the BikeBandit Page but I should have it up in the next week or two.
Sounds like a solid plan. I'm running narrower wheels as well and have Dunlop 908RRS on the bike front and rear currently. Super impressed with the rear but want to try the golden 273 front next
@@EverySingleSunday Yea this is my problem I ride an XR400R and love it and plan to make it street legal... But I think it will only be for short trips around town and stuff... Maybe ill like it for longer trips but I doubt it... I basically like to ride hwy till i get to a sweet spot and then ride back country!
Impressive! Over here in Europe you would have a hard time finding ANY legal single trail riding, especially here in Scandinavia. At the other hand we can roam freely without motorcycle (=on foot, skis, bicycle) and even set up a tent wherever we like, even on private land. So my trail riding / single trail experience: zero. If I should ever make it to Colorado again I need to find some tour operator and have try. On a veeeeeeery easy single trail! Would not like to do that with a "heavy" 790, something lighter maybe like a 350... ? ;-)
All depends on the Rider and how capable they are. The right guy can take a Harley Davidson up these trails if he was committed enough A smaller single cylinder bike is always easier
@@EverySingleSunday does it get buzzy? maybe the tenere is a better option even if I have to wait on it. I have 2 hours of freeway to reach any sort of riding unfortunately so that's part of the puzzle.
The tenere with stock gearing is worse on the freeway than the KTM with 1 smaller CS Sprocket. The KTM in my choice for higher speed stuff for sure, even geared down a bit

@@EverySingleSunday I looked at the tenere to so I would appreciate what you feel is most comfortable for longer rides and then still easiest to throw around in the back country... Now that would be sweetvideo to compare the two...
I'll do that shootout once I have both. One of my friends bin Canada already has both. He prefers the T7 for tight technical stuff and the 790 for faster flowy stuff and longer rides
Great riding.Thks.
You bet
Love the sound of the exhaust. Its like my old 990R. Was the install plug and play with the decat? Or was there some mapping needed? Any change to power?
Great Vid
It was just bolt it in and go. It doesn't need a tune but ROTTWEILER will be doing a Power Commander in it in a couple weeks when I'm home with one of their custom maps
Ho lee shit. You were here? Looks like you were at Rampart Range....my front door. BTW: Man, that bike sounds great.
Yes it was. My sister lives in Morrison so I try for 1 trip a year. First time bringing my bikes
What tires did you say are on that bad boy? Looking at tires like the motoz dessert ht but i want some more wet weather oriented tire due to living in a rainforest lol
I'm running the Dunlop 908RR front and rear right now. Much softer rubber than the MZ tires... But much quicker wear as well
Slippery in mud still as it has a big adv block out back
If you want a good wet weather tire... You're going to have to get a MX Style tire instead of a ADV tire.
It won't be DOT legal or meet the weigh / power requirements of what a tire should be for a bike this size
I like the 140 IRC M5B out back and a GT 217aa up front in the 90/90 size.
Both aren't recommend for the bike.... But are awesome
Rear knobbs will rip off if you race desert with them and are on the gas all the time
Exhaust sound very nice💥💥💥💥💥
The ROTTWEILER performance Guys sell some good stuff
I'd like a lighter bike on those trails, but the 790 seemed to do really well. Nice trails.
To each their own. For me, a smaller bike would be boring on this terrain
Super videos
I see you installed the Camel ADV 1-Finger Clutch... How's that working out for you? 😁
It is something I should have added on Day 1
sick ride / sick trailll !!!
So much fun. Absolutely love my 790 🤘
Where in Colorado is this?
Perfect example when it's right to use the word "Epic".
Thanks Chris. It does get tossed around a bit too much
Right after a storm like that is best time to ride Rampart
Dirt was epic this day. My dumb California ass just wasn't prepared for it
Hi I wish you had time to show your buddy on his 790s with the R suspension. It is what I need. When I asked the two KTM Dealer's near me they said it can't be done .. I'm in the UK
you can message him on instagram. I don't really know hm all that well but he's a good guy and will tell you what all you need
How is your camera mounted? I thought on a helmet mount, but I can see your helmet moving around in the frame, which wouldn't happen if it was rigidly mounted to the helmet.
Also, what did you do to the suspension? I have a 790R and I'm just setting it up.
On the helmet. Image stabilizer on go.pro
epic ride dude
Glad you enjoyed it. Ao much fun
You ready for the Big Bear ride?...did the 790 get to the top of .38 special yet?
Have not tried 38 Special. Just a quick trip up gold mtn and John Bull. Guess we'll see how it goes in a few weeks
Are you running an AXP skid plate? Would you recommend crash bars as well for newer, average rider off-road?
Yep, AXP on all of my bikes. I think they are the best on the business for people that actually ride offroad
I'm not a fan of crash bars. They hang up on rocks and are heavy.
Does your 790 have a power Commander unit on it with a rottweiler tune?
Yes it does. I run the race map without the 02’s. That’s why I have a CEL on the dash. Bike runs fantastic
Man that looks like fun.
It was an epic day for sure
Wow, the voice clip is super clear. Mind to share vlogging setup?
Purple Panda mic from Amazon. I have a video on how to set it all up if you go back a few months
What Kind of handguard mirrior combi is this ? Nice Video
Stock KTM handguards with the ROTTWEILER Performance mirror mounts and mirrors
I plan on switching to the Cycra handguards but keeping this mirror setup. I love it
Sick ride dude!
Thanks so much. Place was awesome 👌
Sorry, missed the video. I was busy having sexy time with that fucking exhaust....
I can't blame you on that. Wish you could hear it in person
How is bike compared to ktm 500 exc.
Love the 790.
Big and heavy. Nothing like a 500 at all
I know its a weird question to put over here but did you have any experience with the 950/990 bikes ? Would you recommend one for someone who cant afford a 700 or 790?
Ya, the 950/990 is an amazing bike for sure. If you can find ne in good shape I would jump on it. The 990 is the fuel injected version of the 950/990 if you weren't aware.
The 950SE Was the top model for off-road if you are looking for one. I think there was an erzburg Edition as well one year
I wonder how an 850 gs would respond to this . any thoughts ? love the vid by the way DAAUUUUUMMMMM !!
Those bikes are better suited to the street. You can do it, just not as easily. The new Yamaha Tenere 700 is going to be awesome
@@EverySingleSunday I don't know, I like the T7, but I think the 790R will kick its ass in the dirt!
Hearing the T7 is better in tech stuff but the 790 is better at high speed. But, we'll find out soon
How have you fixed the mirror? Can I have the link for buy?
Quick Flip mirror from ROTTWEILER Performance
Some other POV camera angles would be nice though, have you tried a chest mount?
#1 goal is to ride for me. Chest mount is too low for an ADV bike and isn't stabilized enough. I usually Mount off my chin instead of the side of my helmet but having issues making it work on this helmet with a microphone
@@EverySingleSunday Nice riding and your bike sounds awesome. What is your camera and mic setup by the way?
Unless I’m mistaken, this all looks like the -50” trails there. I’d be curious how it handled on any of the true single track (770 etc.)
yeah for sure, that's not at all single track lol..but it does seem perfect for big ADV bikes that want to have some trail fun.. The 770 would be a bit much for those big bikes, although certainly doable..TRUE mountain/woods single track would be impractical if not impossible for those machines.
@@coBandy69 I've been hitting all the trails in Rampart on my 790 r, but I haven't mustered the courage to tackle 770.
Just finished filming some real single track up at gold creek lodge in Idaho. Not sure if the video will be posted here or on the BikeBandit Page but I should have it up in the next week or two.
Snagged the bike and just sent Rotwieler the rest of my 401k. What kind of tires are you running? Have you changed rim sizes to run a more Moto tire?
Sounds like a solid plan. I'm running narrower wheels as well and have Dunlop 908RRS on the bike front and rear currently. Super impressed with the rear but want to try the golden 273 front next
So what’s your main reason for not choosing a 690 instead? Given the trails you seem to ride?
Can't go to the KTM Rally with a 690
Do you find it to heavy in the single track after a few hours??
I definitely feel a lot more tired at the end of the day on this bike. Nothing like riding a 300
@@EverySingleSunday Yea this is my problem I ride an XR400R and love it and plan to make it street legal...
I think it would be a bit boring on a regular sized dirt bike. Trail was very calm and would have been too easy
SAMCROW on dirt bikes!
We didn't sell gums, I didn't burn anything down, I didn't have my best friend killed.... At least in video
Nothing like SAMCRO :)
Bro...is that 790 s capable/enough for doing these kind of offroad??i m short legs about 79cm that why asked.
All depends on the Rider and how capable they are. The right guy can take a Harley Davidson up these trails if he was committed enough
A smaller single cylinder bike is always easier
I can't remember how long you are in town but if you want to drown your 300 again I have some spots!
Heading back to Idaho tomorrow morning. Thanks 😊
Very interested in your buddys bike, S model with R package suspension and rims, how much did it cost??
I don't know him that well. I think the bike was a demo and he bought nthe suspension used.
@@EverySingleSunday Thank you for the reply!
Le paradis sur terre.
🤷🏻♂️
have you regeared the 790 yet by this video? if so, how does she do on the highway afterwards?
I was 1 tooth down on the front here, 15 instead of 16
Still cruises at 70-75 without too high of rpm
Unless you're always on the freeway, do it
@@EverySingleSunday does it get buzzy? maybe the tenere is a better option even if I have to wait on it.
@@EverySingleSunday thanks, now that's unexpected.
The best 790 videos someone can find, why don't you use a proper MX helmet with goggles on?
I do on some rides. I don't use a mic with my MX helmet and the air coming off the windshield sounds Terrible. Plus, I really like the Klim Krios ADV helmet. Fits great, light, no dust in my eyes. They did great
How is the deceleration with new sproc ?
I honestly didn't notice a difference in decel with it
@@EverySingleSunday fantastic news !!
Adventure S with the R package susspension? Is it possible? Could you tell me where can I buy it? Thanks
Well, he bought a demo S bike for cheap and found someone who upgraded their R suspension to Come Valves.
Saved a ton of money
@@EverySingleSunday Thanks
A friend and I just ponied up for a 790. Do you have any GPS tracks or info where we could get some for the Voyager Pro.
Where are you trying to ride, There's a few sites that share tracks but I've never used them. My friends usually just send me stuff before a ride but I'm pretty terrible about going out to get them
@@EverySingleSunday Would like to ride the trail you rode in Colorado on the 790.
@@wfodavid a locals guy took me out. Place was called rampart range. I don't behave any tracks from that ride
@@EverySingleSunday I'll find it Thanks!
Impressive.
Thanks P. So much fun
What kind of suspension in on the Adventure S?
He has standard R suspension on it front and rear.
