    Loved this, I was tripping off two tabs when watching the show and after it was over I spent the whole day outside in a tropical storm facing death in the face and taking it all in.
    Again I love this show

    i haven't watched the full show - i saw a clip from the mom & son episode, just a small bit of their conversation...i was absolutely demolished. i think "you cry! you cry..." all the time and still get overcome. i plan to watch the show, but i always worry i'm not emotionally prepared haha. this was encouraging. im reconciling death pretty heavily these days - i watched someone very dear to me take their last breath and then get taken away from the home to be cremated...I still haven't processed it over a year later. They're the second person in my life to turn into a heavy little sealed box, yet I'm still waiting for them both to come back one day. Grief and Death are those very strange distant cousins who look alike despite being barely related.

      It’s natural, every living thing must die. It’s as intrinsic to living as being born. Birth and death are very similar but we celebrate one and fear the other. Here’s a quote you may enjoy:
      “The child is out for trouble while the dead is out of it. Attachment to life is attachment to sorrow. We love what gives us pain. Such is our nature. For me the moment of death will be a moment of jubilation, not of fear. I cried when I was born and I shall die laughing.”

    • @rosesweetcharlotte
      @rosesweetcharlotte Рік тому +1

      It's OK to be afraid. I have a major death phobia and one thing which has always been really difficult is having everyone tell me that death isn't scary because it is inevitable, but that's exactly why it's scary. And it hurt me for a long time because in addition to being afraid, I also felt isolated, like I was experiencing life wrong. Why weren't other people obsessing and fear death like I was?
      But it is perfectly OK and normal to have a death phobia.

      I feel like I could share my experience with this cus i wanna. Back like 3 years ago I had the realisation that I do not know what happens when I die and this 'not knowing' ig gave me such existential panic and anxiety that I legit could not sleep properly for like a few weeks and this continued on for a bit. (Side note: it baffled me at the time how everybody i talked to could just be like 'oh death is normal dont worry about it you shouldnt be afraid of it' like m8 how does this shit not scare you??!) Anyway, I had to get my wisdom teeth taken out so this meant going under general anesthesia before my operation. THIS is what helped me accept death. My biggest fear about death i think was that there would be eternal darkness which is horrifying tbh. But when I went under the anesthesia everything legit just went black in an instant and then I woke up and the operation was done! I read up about the general anesthesia stuff as well and i think it says how it shuts down your CNS so you cant feel/remember anything. ANYWAY this must imply that if the CNS and brain is shut down then you literally cant feel/experience anything and this is how the medicine works. Same thing with death! When you are dead you no longer have a body thus it was like my experience under general anesthesia. That made me feel good cus 1 second is just like 6 hours which is just like eternity and honestly its aight. But yeah anyway I totally understand your fear of death its fucking terrifying. luckily for me i dont fear it anymore (or nowhere near as much as i used to) and i feel at peace with it. Hopefully you can find peace with it as well and anybody reading this really long fucking comment i wrote lol

    We all have a piece of "somthing" in us that is identical which allows a connection since all the pieces are part of the same larger thing.
    Your personality, your "you" is like a dense material that wraps around the "something". the "you" is unique to everyone which will get shed off when you die, just leaving the piece of "somthing" left.

    Episode one Weed

  • @Jinnai89
    @Jinnai89 Рік тому +3

    midnight gospel is the poor man's alan watts, the zoomer edition
    a western producer who got high on weed, dabbled in eastern philosophy, watered it down enough and added a juggler so western audiences can keep up and stay focused long enough to watch it and then added a sappy "i'm exercising for my husband who is fighting cancer" sticker to it so it would be improper to call them out for being hacks, the main character has the personality of a wet cardboard box, the topics they tackle are straight out of some alan watts tier musings about eastern philosophy shtick but somehow even more basic, they try so hard to be #2deep4u but end up seeming pretentious and artsy
    the best way to describe the show is a white dude with dreadlocks at a campus strumming a guitar singing about how deaths a bummer while being surrounded by dudes tripping on lsd nodding teary eyed whispering "truuu" under their breath

    • @2782Jack
      @2782Jack Рік тому +2

      I thought the exact same thing! even if I want to give him the benefit of the doubt each episode his guests just talk nonsense like what comes out of my mouth after I smoke too much weed and instead of questioning or clarifying their nonsense metaphors he just agrees and goes "wow that's so much to think about"
      Then they bring in his dead mom at the end for emotional bonus points but it doesn't matter because the series is so incoherent I couldn't become attached to the character.

    Just came to say, No, Big NO. It just recopile all the weirdest and "Want to be spiritual and profound" podcast and adapted them in a childish TV show. If you want to make sense of life that way then your missing the whole point of living.

  • @johnjack3578

    This show attempts to touch on those topics, approaching them from the wrong angle, being narrow minded and subjective, ultimately, completely missing the point and saying nothing coherent.
    It's like watching a child attempting to make sense of the world.

    The part from the mother is better, if a bit voyeuristic perhaps on the show's part eh, because even if kind of lapalissian it has value because even a simple and banal truth like that is extremely tought to swallow if you are actually about to have to deal with it and not just talking theoretically, but for the rest...
