I love how much respect Bernard gives the Boks and his incredible insight. What a guy. If the Boks can't do it this year, it has to be Ireland, well deserved.
We Springbok supporters learned more from Bernard about our own team than from any other UA-cam channel. Much appreciated. Thank's for giving our much loved team a chance on Saturday.
Same, I'm pretty new to rugby...and analysis of this quality is definitely what new fans need to have a better understanding of the sport outside of the obvious stuff like penalties, free kicks, scrums. But technical analysis like this really helps. I mean I've heard alot about the ""gain line"" but I didn't really understand what they were on about or where to look
As a Springboks supporter I so appreciated this analysis. So many so called experts these days who pose as analysts are just glorified fan boys. They offer no insight into the different nuances of the game at all that can educate the average fan and help the public get a better appreciation of how teams approach a game. I personally feel that some are more interested in pushing a certain narrative as opposed to giving some objective analysis as has been so well done here. Those leading the charge in pushing a narrative that suits them are those guys on the Breakdown. I have lost so much respect for them and do not watch them anymore. The only credible Kiwi commentator/analyst is Justin Marshall in my opinion. The rest are simply entitled fan boys who cannot come to grips with how average the All Blacks currently are. No disrespect to the All Black team whatsoever. As a Boks supporter we have been on the receiving end of some humbling defeats over the years against them. And as a team and rugby nation I have huge respect respect and admiration towards them. So thank you for this amazing insight and appreciation given to the way my beloved Boks play the game. 🙏

Some great insights from the gentlemen. What a match it will be in France with the fans making that noise, but we backing the Springboks as Bernard has alluded
THIS is analysis. So tired of other pundits who repeat their biased clichés (“which will win, French flair or South African physicality?” nonsense). Well done. 🇿🇦 World Rugby: this is how to grow the game, by teaching fans the finer technicalities that these teams are performing.
I've been watching this team and this style of defence (and then finally offence) develop for the past 8 years. It's beautiful. Honestly, having lived from coach to coach every 4 years, or sometimes 2 years, since 95, this has been blissful. It clearly shows when the right players are picked and developed and game plans implemented one season at a time, with a masterful coach that connects with the players and understands the game. There has never been a Springbok team with this kind of skill.
@@carterpaul2688 You replied to is just 1 person, and they were talking about beating South Africa. How did you arrive at "you people", "hating" and the whole of Africa?
Awesome anaylsis. France have some great individual players with amazing skill. But south africa are the complete team. Dupoint question. Will he play or not. He is the clock that makes france tick
Wow so refreshing to hear positive things about the Springboks. It will definitely be a tough game because France is playing some incredible rugby in this World Cup. We obviously hope to come out on top but overall looking forward to what will be a game for the ages 😂😂 low-key bricking it tbh but Go Bokke!!!!!!🎉

@@plutoniumnitrate1201 Looking at Ben O'Keefe 's performance just in the ZA/Ireland game, you could hardly call him world class. He is half blind and he most definitely has a bias against South Africa, because he is a New Zealander after all.
Let's see what happens on Sunday then. Ireland beating SA in the pool game has no bearing on the the elimation rounds. As such, they never showed their hand. Sunday will be different. They've got a few tricks u their sleeve no doubt. But that doesn't mean France cannot win. They're quality.
I am just so proud we have the boys we have in our Bok team. Wouldn't want any other player from any other team no matter how much better they may be💚💛🇿🇦
When Jacques Nienaber goes year end it would not be a bad thing to court Bernard to come in as coach.. he understands this game at probably the same level as Rassie..
I rewatched the Ireland v Springboks game today for the first time and I felt so much better about how the Boks played than I did immediately after the event. The Boks dominated swathes of that game and they played really well. It made me think if we were to meet Ireland in the final, we'd win.
See I was secretly hoping we'd lose that game as I'd prefer to face Ireland in the final than any of the other teams, and Ireland had a better chance of knocking NZ out than France imo. As such I was in full agreement with giving the guys the opportunity to kick at posts, when realistically if they wanted to make sure they won, they'd be using their dominant line-out maul every time when lacking a reliable goal kicker. If the kickers happened to kick over, then great, they gain confidence and we win, not end of the world.
@@Chris_Rugby You have little chance of winning without a good penalty kicker. You can't play in touch every time. At the start of the match against the Irish, the Boks tried without success. Then they tried penalties... also without success. During a match you have to manage the physicality of the forwards. You can't ask them to defend and play all the balls in touch and then ask them again for attacks. Taking penalties allows you to take points while giving the forwards a little breathing space. Then, you will play against Danty and Aldritt who are the 2 best in the world at contesting balls in the ruks. So here too your forwards will have to arrive very quickly, otherwise like all the teams playing against France you will take around 10 penalties against you during the match. And Ramos is an excellent kicker. I believe you see yourself as more beautiful than you really are. Your team has many shortcomings. Being forced to bring a player in mid-competition shows the mistakes of your coaches, and now many of your supporters see him as the savior. I hope for your sake he can handle the pressure. Especially since I understood that with him it's all good or all bad. Finally, having 15 days without matches is not necessarily an advantage, your team may take a little time to get into the right tempo. You see, things might be a lot less easy than you seem to think. Your analyzes of the game are focused on your players and your knowledge of your opponents seems very limited. ah and I forgot, it's a knockout match, pray that your players handle the pressure and finish the match without taking too many yellow and red cards because they often confuse aggressivity with aggression and the referees no longer tolerate the slightest contact . Good match 😉
@@LeSaffwe have Pollard who is a reliable goal kicker? We are also the only team still in the competition to not receive a card? So both your points are pretty redundant, everything else is just biased ramblings. We’re a top side, so is France, best team will win on the day.
@@LeSaff I appreciate the detailed response, and I love seeing the passion from the other side. No doubt you are correct, I see things in a favourable light because they are my team. And if they weren't, I would undoubtedly want to believe what you are saying about their weaknesses- as you clearly do. It does go a bit deeper than that though, because Pollard was always going to be coming in mid-way through the tournament...that was planned, they said as much. He was never going to be starting in this game though- Rassie has been planning this since 2018. You've been seeing throughout this tounament two completely different SA teams playing each game. One attacking, the other strangling/defensive. All set up for this game, where one half is attacking, and with Pollard, the 2nd half is strangling and where we take out penalty kicks... Doesn't mean you're not right about the weaknesses. I guess we'll just have to wait to find out if they're significant enough to make a difference.
@@ballistix9275 Okay, I'll clarify my point of view: Since the start of the competition, I've been reading a lot of comments from Boks fans who are very arrogant and disrespectful towards their opponents. In short, nobody can beat South Africa, and the match against France will be a formality. In the final, revenge against Ireland will be an easy win. Following the Kiwis' results against Namibia, Uruguay and Italy (!), you're finally happy, because you're going to meet your Kiwi friends in the final. Sometimes I feel like I'm reading the comments of football fans, a far cry from the much more respectful rugby mentality. I have a lot of respect for southern hemisphere rugby and I'm not at all sure that France will win. What I wanted to point out is that you don't seem to know your opponents' strengths. Secondly, regarding Pollard, I've only reported something I've read from (non-French) journalists: He has good days and bad days. If that's not true, good for you. But in any case, he's not arriving in ideal conditions, and a striker needs confidence. Not to mention the pressure of the public on every one of his kicks. I don't think he often plays in a stadium with 80,000 spectators against him. A lot of players can be destabilized.
