The way he allows the conversation to flow without being too scripted and still being able to provide structure to the conversation is really really spot on. Very professional.

@@unbuckleddiscussions also noticed the interrupting but I think maybe he will get better at this in time. He definitely keeps the banter up and keeps it moving nicely without being stiff.

Haven’t been back to SA since 2019 and miss my old homeland. However, this show always cheers me up. Excellent.
Looks like we may be able to field two strategies based on each flyhalve. Pollard to start, front row to apply pressure and capitalise on points and build scoreboard pressure. Manie and fresh front row in 2nd half to make plays and open up the game.
You have the right idea, but wrong application. I think most of scrum penalties come when Ox Nche come off the bench to dominate a tired opposition starter, or a worse quality bench prop. In which case there would be more opportunity for Pollard to kick for poles in the last 30 minutes.
@@jameswyatt4443 I agree with what you're saying about Ox, but Manie's game will work better if we're already up by 5-7 and we're not chasing the game. We usually grind and then explode.
So a fresh front row will pick up penalties, but by that stage we should already be up on the score board.
when pollard plays INT THE PAST, it was all up and unders, id rather mannie start, and we apply fwd momentum with variation and ball in hand with backline and fwd play, and go for the line to apply pressure, then pollard on for last 20 IF THINGS ARE TIGHT
@@garthmanuel5701 Pollard is not all up and unders. I think Libbok should start, but people are being disrespectful about Pollard’s attacking game.
I agree with you but also, this is my opinion. The thing is, you need a kicker that put points on the board. If you go for the 3, it has to sit. It has been that way for ever and it`s never going to change. Manie gave away more to many points. Not even the, not so good teams do better. The 10 has to deliver. No yes or no or maybe. The 10 has to be a bank. If Namibia plays the All Blacks, 3 points is nothing but, when the Springbucks play a team like Ireland, 3 points can make a difference. YOU NEED a NUMBER 10 That makes the score board ticking over.

Manie was struggling with the kicking clock, on Saturday he seemed to have mastered the clock. Less looking at the clock and more eyes on the ball .

I thought he still cut it fine with the clock. But he kicked it including two difficult ones, very happy about that.

Did you just start watching rugby?? New Zealand are the best ever, and Ireland are the best at the moment... South Africa are good but in my lifetime they've never been "the best"

The guy is allowed an opinion. Boks have won the WC 3 times and haven't played in them all, as NZ have done. Ireland have yet to win just once. The guy's opinion is therefore not far out.

My favorite player of the tournement is definitely the little jackler from Uruguay. He has really impressed. I think he averages 4 - 5 turnovers a game, against all oppositions.

One of my biggest wishes for SA is that the way our boys play rugby for each other, is the way we do life together in general as South Afticans, but since 1994, NOTHING has changed and we still as divided as ever! It's soo soo sad

Guys, can I ask what you think about 1: side entry at the ruck seems as normal as the scrum put in (when did it become acceptable?) And 2: Your thoughts on Irish, Welsh, Scottish and yesterday French players appealing to the ref. I thought it was only the captain who could talk? The play acting and appealing - doing my head in
3: the ball, flies 10m further and is harder to handle (for northern/ defensive teams?)

QF France vs Springboks .... I was at Kings Park - semi finals on 17 June 1995. The home ground is on a different boot this time, but Awesome all the way. I still think the Bokke will win though.

I would love for the captions of the titles to change from “ex-springbok” to “former-springbok” as ex implies a bad relationship between the player and springboks rugby union 🙏 love this podcast

Awesome chatter, much of that coming from time on and off the field.Guys, we have 15 on the field playing against the country of France and the influenceable whistle, what is the "game plan" from kick off to post with an almost 100% belief in the squad that they will not lose. Calculated moves that build momentum from the moment the coin is tossed...Talking about the coin toss, how many people know the stats of what transpires only in that little action.. Getting it right, then making the call to kick off and immediately hand the opposition the ball, or do they? Getting the toss, and decide to receive the ball, or do they? What are the little "Rassie" moments that tells the players based on the statistical FACTS that when they achieve these "moments" or field gaining millimeter actions they will be inching their way closer to a kickable position when they play the "money game" or gunning for the corners with another stat that reads...Deep throws have scored 38% less than throwing in at the front of the line out.... Keep up the fun filled moments guys! Great contributions Shim.

N-o-o on the centres! Esterhuizen/Canan Moodie the best centre pair by a long shot. Manie also not negotiable, Pollard on the bench.
Guys, let's start the big Esterhuizen. That guy demolished the all blacks and Tonga. Start him against France, England and Ireland in the final.
I also rate Esterhuizen. Very imposing, busts through tackles, draws in defenders, has deft touches.
Esterhuizen best centre he has the moves and it took 3 or 4 Tongans to take him down and he still kept the ball alive.
Defensively De Allende will get the nod. He defends like a flank.
