That was so satisfying seeing it roll for the first time. I can only imagine how great it must've felt for you. Quality work, man!
@Ronald Finger I love your channel big fan here is cool to see that you comment on other UA-cam channels thnx for great content 🚗 🚘
Me too
Ronald when you updating us on the fiero build
When is your next episode coming Ronald?? Been waiting for it.
Hey man we're waiting on the fiero video
As he said he's learning as he goes. Not many people would take on such a task, but when you have the will to make your dream come true... that is true talent
Inspiring stuff right here!
I completely agree.
Definitely going to have a few setbacks when you are learning or trying something new its a part of the process.
he has a shop most people don't
I think this is definitely much harder without a CAD model but it seems to be coming together nevertheless. Impressive, but I say he needs to get some CAD skills before taking on something much more complicated.
Hey Ben - Though out car building, the body is always bolted to the supports on the frame, never welded in case you need to separate the body from the frame. For example; painting all surface areas on the frame, painting undercarriage components separate from the body, and painting the body when damaged. Check out Chip Foose's work, he has been building show cars for a very long time, and not once would he ever weld the frame to the body before it's completed.
He made a unibody full frame... not what I would have done.
Don’t listen to the negative remarks about cutting up a “classic”, Ford made millions of them. You are on the right path and with your skills it’s going to be incredible when completed.
I agree, hell I'd been thinking looking at that tube frame chassis. It would make for a killer electric conversion. Slide a 75kwh entire tesla pack right in. 😋
Has no one noticed the better quality videos? So happy seeing better visuals and more crisp videos. Great work!!
Keep working on that portrait Rembrandt, it's shaping up nicely. Thanks for a clean family oriented channel. Something I can let my grands watch. Some channels I watch with the volume muted. Thanks, and Go bless.
Love the improve in quality mate! Cheers
That's one way to challenge your skills build something from the ground up doing an excellent job
I watched this build religiously since day 1, love this build which is my favourite on UA-cam at the moment. Amazing effort and work ethic!
Other UA-camrs- "watch me fix my 66 mustang!"
Vtuned- "Watch me build a 66 mustang from scratch!"
Real talk.
What about that mustang is '66 at this point?
@@IggyM the headlight panel is still from 66
"like 5 times because I keep fucking it up and having to redo it" 😂
Time to go to the steel store, buy some stock and build an engine and transmission.. Until then VTuned is just pretending to 'fix' this mustang.
This is great work. Always challenge yourself. If your dreams do not scare you then you haven't started dreaming.
First ones always the hardest, now you can pop off more of these things. Good Job on sticking with it and showing the world the learning curve, and listening to all the "experts".
give this man a hand he has my respect working on those old school cars its a dieing trade not too many guys in the generation doing this type of work
Except it's not really an "old school car". Apart from the headlight surround, it's a new build, with a "nearly new" engine.
I guess I am older but, I get tears in my eyes seeing these kids cut fenders and quarters
Ehh its not even an og body.
Im. Younger and i damn near cried when started cutting up the 66 that he started with
I get it man but its his project,i hated to see the old coupe cut in half and not used,i'm a old cougar" the car" lover but my second favorite is mustangs.
Man! The Stang is looking awesome. Vtuned might not be grooming his newly purchased property on the Tennessee country side with a fantastic view but he is getting his hands dirty making bad ass cars from scratch. That ladies and gentlemen is VERY respectable.
The major point in any build, the rolling chassis! Congratulations.
The position you are in, do a few more quality builds like this and you’ll find yourself among the top 10 builders on utube.... you tackle every project with confidence that you will win
I mean just look at B is for Basura(Trash)
Who would be ahead of him?
@@fungleinfection6998 I think vtuned since he doesn't need someone like oscar to do all the work
Best comment so far. I completely agree with you, this man has some serious talent and skills, even in front of the camera. It’s only a matter of time before Discovery or History channel gets VTUNED a contract for his own show. Keep up the amazing work and videos coming.
Alan Hauch who are the other 9?
I always like a fastback, however, I was looking forward to seeing a coupe converted. Great build.
The camera man got better with the angels, editing and music.... Goood job
This is my tonic. Hurry up and get her running!! Mustang 2018 owner in Australia
Thank you for being SAFE and using the face shield. NOW GO TELL VLAD AND YOUR BRO TO USE IT ALSO!
Vtuned this build reminds me of an allegory.
2 lumberjacks where sitting back having smoko and paddy looks at his axe and says, you know Pat this has been a wonderful axe, I have only had to replace the handle 6 times and the head twice.
Your car seems to be simular!
Tony from Western Australia
Coming along very nicely! Your biggest challenge is keeping with all your measurements.... Really good fabrications, and really good your not rushing anything. I know how you may feel and want to hurry to a certain point. I have to say I like your videos, not everyone is so detailed.
Once you finish the frame, are you going to sandblast it and paint it before attaching the body? Whatever you do, DO NOT CUT those two main frame rails - you will take all the strength out of the frame and cause it to flex in the middle.
Looking forward to more videos on this unusual one of a kind build. Stay safe and all the best from Queensland Australia.
"My coyote swapped body swapped frame swapped something rolls off the lift."
Very interesting project!!!
DIY '66 Coyote Mustang!!
Keep it up VTUNED team!!!!!
Looking good. Amazing talant and very humble. The kid is not afraid to say I screwed up, but I'm learning as I go.
way back in 1966 i was walking to school and i passed a park where a young guy was waxing his new mustang. You gave me a memory flashback from 54 years ag, thanks
You need to make that transmission mount removable
yep that is thinking ahead
Yup I was thinking the same thing
the exhaust system lines must also be considered
The mount is removable. The crossmember isnt.
Whaddya mean? It *IS* removable. 40 seconds with an angle grinder, and voila!.
Wow awesome! Just excellent and entertaining! VTunned you remind me of my younger self. I’d tackle projects like this when I was in college like it was nothing! I wish I still had enough time to do stuff like this!
P.S: there are so many keyboard engineers here pointing out all the mistakes! Relax people, he’s building, making some mistakes, learning, that’s part of the process! He’s having a great time and entertaining us! Just sit back and enjoy!
🙏🏽❤️
HUGE milestone!! Such and incredible job, Congratulations! Great to see all of your hard work paying off, looking forward to seeing more!
Nice work. Damn good to see younger people working on this old car. Can't wait to see the finished product keep it up.
the Mustang you started with is gone 3 Mustangs ago
have a look at Vehcors mustang its even better
Amazing to see how the car is coming together ❤ now it's looking more like a car amazing work the best build on UA-cam keep it up💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great Progress. It was a milestone to see it roll off the lift. You are doing excellent work.
I'm sad to see the new look you went with isn't widened 2 iches but you're still doing an awesome job building this mustang. Over the past few weeks you have became one of my favorite UA-camrs. Keep working hard and you'll get ahead in life.
When you put all the body panels on that car and that car came alive man you're doing a good job buddy great job keep up the great work👍🏻👍🏻
HAHAHAHA! Muskota Mike and Reckless Regal are leaving some FUNNY COMMENTS! Y'all should be sure to read them and comment to each one of them to show your support.
VERY ENTERTAINING! 👍😂👍
I noticed You on doing frame work for Goonzquad.
Your skills are mazing. This will be a special "Pony".
I've been excited about this build from the beginning. Sometimes you go one step back to go two steps forward but it's coming together. Great to see a rolling chassis. Very talented family and impressive work.
I can see frame rail revision 4 or is 5 coming in the near future. You will see what I mean when you "try" to put in the interior. I enjoy watching your channel.
This kid was born with an amazing internal motivational speaker..
@Gossip Heart To us older guys he will always be our little vTuned.
the car is coming along great. this will be a great learning experience and a very rewarding car for you to be able to drive, ive seen several body swapped mustangs to late model chassis. and yours is turning into one of the best ones yet,
YAY! It rolled of the rack! Good job! You're doing a great job! Keep up the good work!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Can you make a shirt that says: Y'all are the professionals
you sure do have a lot of faith in those welds to hold all the stress they're going to be taking. why not have the shock plates under the subframe tubes so that the stress is on the subframe and not the welds?
Yeah I was going to point out that he should look how the force from the rear axle is going to be applied to the whole vehicle. The pieces winged out to the body should have been diagonal. He's 100% relying on his welds to hold the body in place. The force isn't being applied to the side rails via the tubing, it's all on the welds.
I tried to explain to him about triangles, even sent him images of professionally built frames to no avail.
Come on guys give the kid a break keep learning here he'll figure it out he's doing a great job try explaining to him. Don't just knock him or maybe you guys are I just didn't see it anyway the kids doing a great job more power to him
@@petercan1020 they just try to show him how it needs to be, so he would not have problems in the future, I think
@@petercan1020 It's frustration. To see him waste so much time and energy and materials.
If you fail at first, try again. 🤞
V-tuned-Been waiting for this epic moment. Really shaping up! Off the frame rack is a huge step taken. Lookin real good mate! Love the wheels and tires protruding outward with the right amount of clearance too!
Awesome getting more progress done, looking forward to it being welded up and the floor being made 👍🏾👍🏾🤙🏼
Gloves man, you should use gloves when using the grinder...we need your hands for future projects, cheers!
official 💯 .. camera/editor is a1 too.. good ish 👍
Very inspirational, well done. I'm sure you are responsible for motivating many people to get on with their projects. 😀
Awesome job, so far, as I'm a "MUSTANG FAN SINCE BIRTH"!!!
I am enjoying watching you create this "Mod Mustang". I wish I could afford your services, as I'm currently restoring a '67 Mustang coupe.
Great work, however i do see a few issues.
How are you ever going to remove the body from the chassis? How will you be able to paint the chassis rails going behind the rocker panels?
4:32 gotta love rust on that bracket. makes u wonder how much more hidden rust is on that new factory body...
Good for business to sell that piece again in 5-10 years.
Yep, Ford up to their old tricks ...
@@pip5461 pretty sure he said that body was made by some custom made place aka not made by ford
Yay! You finally got the frame correct. My only other suggestion would be tu use a weld through paint like Steel-it so you could have pre painted the frame prior to permanently connecting it to the body. Years down the road, rust will be an issue. Nice progress!
Wow. Best job I’ve seen on any of the conversion swaps. Genius.
From someone that has done a lot of welding in the past, I don't know how anyone can do ANY welding without gloves and long sleeves and not get their skin burned. If I did that, I would be burned. But you seem to pull it off.
Haha same iam always confused how his arms aren't burnt up
I do hot asphalt roofing without gloves and I get asked the same thing. I think you just get used to the heat and adjust how you work to avoid getting burned.
@@tonymurphy5995 its t.v man probably takes a week to make a video and edited it hes probably wearing something off t.v
ua-cam.com/video/uaee8vpFTCQ/v-deo.html
Probably the exposure time. He's not production welding.
You’re killing it bro 🔥
Vtuned awesome work! Can’t wait for the Mustang to be done! Congrats to your brothers! Love Pops! Tell Paul is he is great at his job as well!😀
Cool dude!....looks like you got most of the Kinks out and fixed ....cool to see the sheet metal too!
*vtuned 2021:*
we've decided to completely scrap the frame and body again and will also be scrapping the drivetrain so lets get more steel and start cutting and welding
"gas monkey garage builds cars"
vtuned - "hold my redbull"
A lot of people think they could do better or faster. He does have to do something for money. He can't spend all his time only on the build and he admits that he is learning as he goes. Great job.
You are great and the best, what a job you are doing, love your chanel, cannot wait to see more of that build. Take a lot of pictures and note all the measurments, labour and cost, you might get some orders.
1:58 It's only me thinking this way or the car without the rear parts mounted looks so awesome - like a Porsche rear.
Certainly didn't look like a Mustang - I thought old style VW.
I'll be interested in how he handles the head room with the floor being that much higher than stock
I was wondering about that too. I'm guessing the seat base will literally be mounted to the floor.
From what Vtuned was saying, I think he’s going to cut the long straight rail now that he has a perimeter frame going.
Great job looks fantastic! Can't wait to see the finished product.
you are quite the artist, mathematician and technician. It all comes together....craft master.
Is it just me or the quality of his videos are getting better? With the new build came a new camera?
They started with a new camera after the hiatus a month or so ago. Took a few vids but seems like they finally have the handling of those cameras dialled.
that trans crossmember isnt going to hold up being straight it will twist.
I think it's in its beginning stages to get it rolling I doubt it will stay that way as many changes as I've seen so far . He also talked about running a inner frame rail for the seats wich will change the cross member . It needs to be removable as many problems ford is having with there Manuel transmissions lol
@@kevinfrye1822 he can get a Chevy transmission. 😁
jamewakk Chevy transmission on my 2012 camaro is made in japan
I’m amazed at the knowledge and skills you have at your age, very impressive!
Great, the first drive to school will be an epic feeling! It's looking great.
anyone else worried its a solid frame with no crash/crush points?
I wouldn't worry unless I was in the other car in an accident.
this car could be no Air Bags, so a solid frame is the only way to protect him.
i don’t you guys understand, with a solid frame if he gets hit it transfers that hit to him on the far instead of absorbing it in a crush point.....
How you gonna paint the frame that is inside the body, lookin good so far .
No doubt it will be redisigned and stripped at least 50 more times! 😂 Have patience man!
Recall, he was not welding the body to the rails yet in order to build the roll cage. Then he will paint the frame, and I'd imagine the unexposed surfaces where it meets the body would get weld-through primer.
Big moment Ben! The rest is knocking off about 1000 small jobs to get to finish. Awesome, just awesome! Glad your edit left all the rest of the Tuned gang in the picture- ya'll run a team sport!
Coming along good bud,Great to see u guys pushing yourself to learn more.👍🏼👍🏼
If you want my advice? I'm not a frame guy or an engineer but I've been involved in the industry and engineers for the better part of 40 years: do NOT cut and remove those two main frame rails running from the rear axle to the front. Modify your seats if you have to, but do not remove them.
Notch them? maybe, but please for all that is holy do not remove them.
Seems like there has to be a better way to connect the body to the frame than the 90 degree method.
I AM a chassis guy and on this car, all those rails are doing is adding weight. They can, and should, go.
@@RecklessRegal and mr frame guy, what's going to keep the frame from twisting when he gets on it?
What company do you work for? Just so people know not to go there since every other frame company does the opposite of what you're saying.
@@RecklessRegal This was built by a "deck guy" who supposedly knew what to do too.
cdn.abcotvs.com/dip/images/5541388_091519-wpvi-wildwood-deck-collapse-6pm-CC-vid.jpg
@@muskokamike127 It's a little thing called rectangle tubing, the requirements are different when you don't use round tube or C channel. Every chassis I build has to pass an SFI inspection BTW
At this point, the only thing left that’s a 1966 mustangs is the vin number and that’s if the plate wasn’t tossed in the scrap pile with the rest of the car.
You here for likes I gave you a dislike
Amazing moment. Great episode. Waiting for first start up !
Great work V....so satisfying to see the progress...we only see a small bit of how hard you work. It's like you're a nephew and I'm the proud uncle. Very proud of all our youth showing their quality work ethic on you tube.
That shock towers are mess to me. Hope they will work.
I don't think it's strong enough. The undersite of the plate, welding is also needed to be done. The same for de brackets in the back of the car. That's my point of view. P.s.I have great respect for this dude! 👏
@@tjebbeveenstra454 yep, the welding has to be done on the underside as well, not only for strength, but have to be made at the same time to not mess with the geometry of what are you building...
I'd say the mounts are not in correct angle, but maybe it will work
@@jojxo The Angle? It is the strength of the connection that we are talking about here.
ua-cam.com/video/uaee8vpFTCQ/v-deo.html
You're doing pretty good work, but the design and material choice is WAAAAAAAAY overkill, all it's doing is adding weight to the car.
I agree, and the main frame rails could be cut out between those outriggers to the outer rails. Might need to do that anyways if there is no headroom. Check that, those rails are up quite a bit higher than the original floor which is almost flush with the bottom of the rockers.
The smile you had when you rolled down the chassis ❤️❤️ cheers bro
Incredible outstanding workmanship
Why didn't you at least use 'weld-thru' primer on bare steel before welding in rockers?
The top is not attached yet, he can pull the sides off the frame.
im just curious is that single welded plate good enough to take the entire shock tower for both sides?
Yeah i was thinking the same thing. I would box it.
Ive also never built a car though. Or even welded. So...
@@brentmwil same im not gonna be a pretend comment section expert lol
I was thinking the same thing. Looks a bit weak, but I am no expert either.
He mentioned in the previous shock tower attempt that it would be gusseted significantly for strength. Id imagine he'll do that on this design also. We hope 🙏
Always looking forward to see your updates and follow the eminent work your are doing.
Goonzquad where ya at? This build is coming along just fine better then anyone would have guessed looks good that tube front support looks modern custom

@@jackjones7504 yep
Definitely an upgrade
So basically at this point the auction car was for the vin number. A totally saveble car in the shredder
Doubt he could even use that it was for a coupe.
It does seem like a waste. It wasn't planned that way though.
As for the vin; surely, there's *no way* he can use that?
Wow! Great job guy. Just here in V-Tune a Mustang from scratch!
So cool to see everything from start to a roller great work
You sure that plate for the suspension will hold with all that power and it bouncing around all the time?🤔 seems sketchy
I was just thinking and this guy destroyed an old mustang for absolutely nothing 😂😂😂
it had been on fire before he got it, i dont think it got its feelings hurt when they cut in in half, LOL
warren michael yes ofc i know, just it was really easy to rebuild, still feels bad tho
@@klintoncekani4051 well, that was a pretty decent rust bucket as well. And a hack job, as Vtuned said they found a splice point in the original body. So not the biggest loss I'd say...
kain0m yes i get it, just not everyone tries to rebuild things as perfect as those guys do.For us iif it drives straight nd looks good it works
@@kain0m I'm pretty sure that the "spice point" was the lead-filled seam where the roof was attached to the car from the factory. That's the way that the manufacturers attached the roof panels back then. I learned about those leaded seams as a teen doing some work on my uncle's 68 Camaro project car. I hit the upper A-pillar with a little too much heat and the lead in the joint melted and started to flow.
I agree with Klinton, that real 66 Mustang was basically destroyed for nothing. The fire it was involved in was minor enough, and Mustang parts are readily available enough to where it could have been repaired. V-Tuned basically destroyed the car. I agree, it'll look great hanging on a wall but would have looked a lot better on the road as a working, driving classic Mustang.
Man, this building has no comparation. congratulations for your hard work!
Way good work and enjoy every episode of your channel. This car has a place in my heart and I was surprised you chose that model yr. My first new car when I was 23 yrs old was a 66 Mustang 2 + 2 fastback with the solid lifter 289 and top loader 4 spd. Wood rim steering wheel and Seafoam Green color inside and out. I bought it without tires cause I wanted Dunlops on it and had a friend who was a Dunlop dealer, and the Ford dealer had no problem with that. I just dropped off my tires and they put them on before I picked up the car. It was a dream come true for me then, and believe it or not, I paid like $2700 for it. Can't remember how much I paid down on it, but my payments were about $62 a month. Gives you some perspective on inflation.
This series is so amazing🙏 you inspired me to do build vids. Blessed subs grow fast😃
Me too, I was thinking of making a PUMA GTI TUBARÃO, (FROM BRAZIL) with tubular chassis, Subaru engine, with the subtlety of Ken Block cars, watches and carbon fiber interior, cool
Subbed
@@airenesivad2975 thanks man 😃🙌
I noticed you weren't putting a good bevel on the frame rails or 1/4" flat plates. I question the weld quality and weld penetration.
Ye, is that not important? I use to, it make it harder to weld but it hold better😀 I guess V-tune know, his is the weld King🚗👍
Brilliant vtuned looking great to roll off the lift and seeing that this will be an awesome build 👍🏾👏🏾
In this pipe that you put in the threshold, I suggest you make a series of holes from the side of the threshold. it will be almost as stiff and much lighter. Great project. Greetings from a fan from Poland.
