I agree with you 100%......I have been so upset with HGTV for listing people as Interior Designers.....when they are clearly Interior decorators.....
Thanks for telling the difference between decorator and design
Yes, an interior decorator can consult with architects or structural engineers to discuss the possibility of making structural changes like moving walls. Through this consultation, they can explore feasible options and ensure that the changes meet building codes and regulations. While the interior decorator may not be directly responsible for making the changes themselves, their collaboration with architects or structural engineers can indirectly lead to modifications to the space. The professionals involved will work together to create a design plan that addresses both the aesthetic and functional requirements of the project while taking into account any necessary structural considerations.
I feel your pain! Went to school 5 years to be an RN. Yet EVERY girl who walks you to an exam room or is wearing scrubs is referred to as a “Nurse”. Even by the Physicians…. It’s actually illegal to call yourself a “Nurse” if you don’t hold a nursing degree…but apparently no one is worried about it. Rant over. 😊
My sister in law is an RN... I feel your pain!! Super frustrating!!
Where did you study? Thoughts on the online interior design institute?
I'm a designer that studied architecture. Architects can't do what we do without training. Don't give them that much credit!
Amen
Thank you for the video, very insightful.
Getting the facts straight for the masses! love it 😁thanks for another very teachable video :)
Thank you!!!
Im curious to know, what would you call a certified interior decorator who has over 20 years of practical experience with construction , design and building codes and many large projects under their belt but does not have designer certification?
The exception, not the norm.
It's likening nurses and doctors
Or Nurses and PSWs
Great comparisons!
@@InteriorDesignHub i like your contents. Thank you.
@@InteriorDesignHub i have a hub that was ill in the last 30 years, so I have firsthand, deep knowledge of both nurses and doctors.
Omg so 💯
But for some of us can’t afford a “interior designer” and all we need it’s a little taste direction to fit our pocket
Aesthetic not assedic. You’re mispronouncing it. Good description on the differences. One of my friends who is an Interior Designer calls Interior Decorator “Cushion plumpers”
All I've heard from interior designers is that it sucks so I'm looking into interior decorating more now. Kinda glad I learnt that now before i went off and spent years and money studying to get into an industry that everyone in it seems to hate lol.
I love my work, but it's not for everyone
Why do they hate it?
@@Keepthemsafela apparently there's very little creative work involved and they rarely ever even get to see their finished projects in person.
