Hey just saw your video thanks for keeping it real and showing it all in one take. I have the SXP Defender and I’m thinking of getting this side saddle. I was thinking the same thing you were with the nylon washer. I’m going to try and find some thin rubber sheathing to put behind it too as well. Thanks.
Great vid. So glad you made the video. I have the SXP and there really is nothing out there regarding accessories for the SXP and even less out there of videos of people talking about some of the stuff. I ordered quite a few shell carriers but the holes never lined up anywhere on the gun. I was thinking of getting this particular saddle. I would have liked to see it installed on the SXP but you showing it next to the receiver did help make it look like it would fit fine. You also mentioned two of my concerns one being the scuffing up of the finish on the gun and the second being the risk of it pivoting downward because there's only one screw holding it in place. Now I've got something to think about. Thanks again.
It will definitely fit the SXP Defender. Consider replacing the included steel washer with a nylon washer of the same size. I haven’t done it, but you could probably put a thin piece of plastic between the Side Saddle and receiver, like from a spiral-bound school notebook, that if you cut precisely and used thin double-sided tape, would stay in place. Just a thought.
@@willhancock1992 Good suggestion on the washer. I thought about finding something very thin to put between the receiver and the side saddle to avoid any scuffs, scratches or marks. I know they're made to get banged up but I still try to keep it good, It's such a nice looking gun. It even annoys me that by putting the side saddle on I'm blocking out the Winchester name that's in red on that side. Trade offs with everything I guess. Thanks for the reply.
Got mine today. Soon found out that the Winchester 1300 Ducks Unlimited model has a longer forend. It won't fit my gun unless I put another one like yours or the defender on.
I have a defender sxp and I tried the tacstar but it wouldn't fit. That curved flang piece kept it from meshing up against the side of the shotgun. It pushed against the shotgun frame and kept it from even coming close to flush. How did you get your's to flush up.
If you are referring to the curved piece on the bottom, note that it goes inside the loading port. It should not get in the way of loading shells when installed correctly.
Hey, where did you purchase yours? I have been trying to find a side saddle like such for my Winchester 1300 hundred for a very long time, but without any success... Anyways, great video!
Mine runs great. Haven’t had a single issue. Main differences are that is that It’s heavier than the 1300, has less capacity, and is made in Turkey versus the U.S. (Don’t worry about that.) I’ve kept the trigger buried and run the slide as fast as possible many times with no jams. The SXP is a great value, IMHO.
This will NOT fit the SXP. The bracket that goes in the loading chamber is not wide enough to let the part lay flat on the side of the shotgun. If you have the SXP, don’t waste your money.
Thanks for your comment! You are correct that the TacStar Side Saddle for the Winchester 1200/1300 will NOT fit, out of the box, on the SXP. However, it can be modified to fit. Your comment led me to create another video showing that. That video can be seen here: ua-cam.com/video/ITlXn2N4n4k/v-deo.html

Thanks for posting. My husband threw away the packaging and instructions before I could read it lol

Yo so this fits good on the Winchester
1300 defender
thank you for this video showing that it possibly could work on the SXP so I’m going to buy it for my SXP LOL
It will definitely work on the SXP Defender!
Will this work on a savage Steven 320 security shotgun?!!

Did you ever figure it out?
@@Sweetdude13 No. I eventually switched shotguns.
12 gauge or 20 gauge?
12 gauge!

There's a bunch of them on ebay right now. Search "Tacstar 1081161" or "Tacstar Winchester" and they should come up.
How does the SXP run?

good vid!!! thank you!!!
“Er, uhm, er uhm. And that is alright”
