This video made me realize just how long I’ve been watching you and your trees. Thank you for the many years. I’ve learned so much. Keep doing what you do Nigel, and I will be right there with you.
All I can say is Wow, that was amazing. You have inspired so much and so many over the years. I’ve only recently found your videos but enjoy every one. Keep it up mate. From wales 🏴 UK.
That was really cool!! To see a tree from start to present! WOW!! What a journey! Thank you so much for that! Too bad you can't put your Canada arm in the greenhouse.
Wow...i was born in june 1991 and i was 1 year old when the ficus sprouted. And here we are in 2024. I've been following you since the third season of the bonsai zone and this is my first comment, just to tell you how much i love your zen attitude and the "green art" as well. Thank you for keeping up the spreading of this wonderful and life saving mastery to the world! Ciao Nigel, from Italy
It almost hard for me to understand i 6 years old when your startet the tree. It's amazing to see the progress , and learn from it too. Thank you for amazing video ,down memory lane. And merry Christmas
Amazing! I was thinking back from the beginnings of this tree, and remembering what seems like a tremendous amount of life I have experienced since then! Wow! It's been very exciting and chock full of experiences I never imagined I would have! What a ride it has been to date, and the same goes for your Microcarpa. I think the "Covid years" aged all of us so quickly in those two years, and it really took its toll on our hair and skin. It did for me, and of course, you've turned into a grey pineapple! LOL! Seriously Nigel! This was such a wonderful video! I love history, and it was fascinating to follow the history of the life of this tree so far! Thank you! Lisa
A great trip down memory lane, short hair, blue jeans and long teeth on the root rake. Thanks for sharing your trees and your expertise!! Here’s to another 10 years!! 🎉🎉🎉
Nigel, the love & pride you have for this tree shines through on your video, it was brilliant to share the progress over the years ... thankyou my friend , greetings from England !.
Wish I could hit the like button more than once! I love the story of this tree and it was so much fun to see clips from videos I watched when I first found your channel in 2018. 💖
So fascinating and cool to see the years of progress. Also inspiring that maybe little me can achieve something and we all been beginners and some are more talented - but hey just enjoy the journey cause there is no finite goal in bonsai! 😊
I was looking forward to this video ever since I saw the thumbnail. Now I finally caught up! Your 1st Bonsai - the Ficus Microcarpa - surely came a long way. I feel like it picked up in vigor in recent years. The roots etc. became thicker, too. Incredible how much it grows back in after defoliation. Awesome tree. I'm looking forward to seeing what it'll turn in to! The video also made me wonder when I found you and your Bonsai Zone. It surely was more than five years ago - and I'm so glad I found your channel! Congratulations to 10 successful years on UA-cam, and I'm looking forward to many more years in the Bonsai Zone 🌲 By the way, I think it might also be interesting to see how the Bonsai Zone area itself changed over the years, in case you have photos of it!
This is actually the tree that made me find your channel in 2016. I lived in Hong Kong back then and i had a microcarpa tree in my street and i took a cutting off of it and i started looking for information about how to grow it as a bonsai tree 😊
@@TheBonsaiZoneWell.... Unfortunately, I got in a very deep depression during a heat wave and all my trees died. Haven't got any trees back ever since. One day, I hope to go back to enjoy bonsai again, but not where I live right now. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and others
In a world so bent on instant gratification this video is a master class of the beauty of connecting to patience and nature. Keep posting montage videos like these of other projects for inspiration. I would rather watch your works over watching any crap on streaming services. Thank you “Zen Master Saunders”.
I've been so busy lately Nigel. I hope you and your family had an amazing Christmas. Great video, you could do many of these now with all the footage. Thanks as always sir. ❤
@@TheBonsaiZone Merry Christmas Nigel, after all you are my guru and I have collected a large amount of bonsai trees.Lessons from you helped me a lot I am not killing anymore trees 😊 all credits goes to you.
Actually, one of the videos about this ficus I've watched during the "covid season" inspired me to try ficus as bonsai. So glad, that I found your channel ❤❤
I like that you use your Horticultural skills to style your trees. It always amazes me that you are able to do well without wiring. Good for you. PS- I like your Haircut in all the older videos. That clean cut style looks good on you
Thank you Nigel. The progression of this tree really puts into perspective how to follow through with a design idea you invisage when first starting out a tree. Very beautiful.
Evolution of a tree, evolution of a youtube channel, evoulution of an artist. Just want to say thank you Nigel. Keep on going Best regards Jens from Vienna
Wow, almost a decade of the Bonsai Zone already, time really flies. It's such a pleasure to see the developmental process of your very first bonsai, it's amazing how the tree transitioned over the last 3 decades. I'm sure picking up a camera and recording the progress of your plants was one of the best choices you've made so far. Picturing and documenting plants in any collection is such an enjoyable process as in the future, you can look back at what the plant once was, and since you can't turn back time, those pictures enforce your memories of those individual specimens. I can't wait to see how this tree develops into the future, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Very interesting to see the development of this amazing tree and your channel over many years. You and your concept of creating bonsai are a huge inspiration for me! I really like to see the progression of the tree and your thoughts over a long time in one video. This is an excellent blueprint for other trees, I hope 🙏😉. Thanks, Nigel!
What a great complilation of the ficus progress over time. Really great. Congratulations. Maybe, compiling in the same way the Avatar Grove, the Larch forest... the small leaf linden.... should be awesome...
My first 3 tree's were a ficus microcarpa, chinese elm, and a satsuki azalea. Working with the ficus and some of the flowering species is what I enjoy working with most.
Ooooh, it's so cool we can actually see the progress of the same tree over that many years! It gives me some hope, since mine is on the thin stick level, two years old I guess xD
such a beautiful tree, and a wonderful video. i would love to see one like this on the serissa tree. i know its not as old, but it would still be amazing to watch. you have so many trees that would be amazing to watch....lol
a tree making it to a grand old age is something to celebrate. Heres to another 10 years of the bonsai zone!
This is an incredible video documenting its journey through the years. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.
It’s so funny to see the different hairstyles you have lol
I love the concept of this video! Please more of this!
