- We all know the door hinges on the k1 series printers are not a great design. So watch this video where I show you how to fix that issue. I also include the files you need to print the same hinges that i install in this video. with a list of everything you need below. In this video I walk you through step by step on how to install the 270 degree door hinge mod that allows you to fully open the door on the creality K1 Max 3D Printer.

4x M3 H6 heat inserts
2x M3x16mm (one for top, one for bottom bracket)
5x M3x12mm (door arms & door latch)
2x M3x20mm (one for top, one for bottom bracket)
rubber inserts from stock hinges (to center the glass panel on arms properly)

NOTICE: I showed installing m2 bolts on part the hinges and M3 on other parts in the video. I later changed them ALL to M3 as listed above. Its a tighter fit, but stronger bolt. Either I think will be ok. Use your own judgement here.

Thanks for your video. The fix looks fantastic. Just one niggling doubt in my mind, does the door eventually sag out of alignment with the new hinges?
No. I’ve had mine for a long time. So have tons of other people. Just use good filament and you’re fine.

Thanks! You could always go on Fiverr and get a designer to create it for you. I have a guy that is very good. And cheap. He’ll design it for you for around 20-$30 I think.
Never had any issues with the doors. I own 9 of these.
Well that’s great. 😃 But there’s a portion of people out there who don’t like the fact that the doors don’t open up all the way, like me lol. And why’d you stop at 9? Buy one more, make it an even 10 lmao. 🤣 Hey thanks for watching!

I’m not 100% sure. Maybe someone will comment here. If you want to send me some measurements I can check it for you
How wide is your door glass. And measure from the front left to the back and key me know what those are. Also measure the distance between the two hinges on your k1. We can figure this out together. No worries

Well not everyone needs this. My printer is close to the wall so I can't open like that. But I changed my door to acrylic door because I made a cut on the top so I can mount my usb creality camera. I hate the one that came with the printer.
