This one hit me so hard the first time (and every time since) and “Can’t Remain Afraid” helped me decide that we needed to move closer to family to help them. I had been afraid of change and this song pushed me to get rid of the fear!!

This is one of my favorites from NF. It combines the lyrical ability, multisyllabic rhyme schemes, and a few slanted rhymes with the vibe of the music and instrumentals. His writing is poetic with allegory, metaphor, personification of emotions, alliteration, irony, and all the double and triple entendres. Much love for your reacts man.

Hey Cliff, so glad you got to this song! Great insight as always! I don't know if someone else has already suggested it, but I would vote for Hate Myself as the next song. But it's imperative to listen to Interlude before Hate Myself. It's like 40 secs long but it sets up the next song.
That ending reminds me of the arm coming out

Haven't started the video, and I'm excited because this and layers are my favorites. But, the entire Mixtape was transformational. Evolving, self-awareness, manifestation, battles the ego, talks with devil, self-love, taking control of the mind. Good God! I love the entire journey.

So I was re-listening to NF Drifting … and realized when he says "unknown SOUNDS" he might mean sounds in the nautical term: In nautical terms, the word sound is used to describe the process of determining the depth of water OR In geography, a sound is a smaller body of water typically connected to larger sea or ocean… especially since he says "drifting… watching the world go round" - amazing!

The way I see this song is he’s drifting though life kinda up in his head just kinda day dreaming and thinking and at the end before he goes off you hear that riser it’s like he’s coming back to reality the here and now and he has a sort of an Epiphany (another good NF song he does with futuristic) and he goes off.
This track isn't a song, it's a audio journey into the mind, faith and feelings, It stands out from his other works as a piece of artwork, a coliderscope of internal expression that we all experience, a jolt too our synaptic pathways, an opera of truely captured human emotion, it's very special.

Nate said when this track was "finished" it felt like it was missing something. That's when he added the humming and the last verse. I think it is to represent him snapping out of his Drifting... the last verse us my favorite abd whdn you break it down its just as thought provoking as the rest of the song.
