Dave at the top of his game here. He's been great on CBS, but this was the golden age. The double-breasted suit, the Hal Gurnee jokes, another sardonic "gimmick" show ... just sublime.
This episode should've been called "Invasion of the RCA TK-47s" (which were the cameras NBC used at 30 Rock and in Burbank until about the early '90s)!
@monkeygriper31 No it wasnt... that was a fly through they did for the opening sequence for the show. Back then I had no idea what I was looking at. Hard to believe that brief footage was inside WTC.

dave is the king of late night
Dave has always been so stylish
I remember this. Also, that's the studio Conan broadcast from before the unpleasantness.

?? huh Letterman was on NBC originally??!! And I was old enough to know this and didn't!
Does anyone have the end credits to this episode, just to prove there were 13 camera people for this?
I always liked the part when they fly over the dog in the intro... sometimes he wasn't there, just his empty basket/bed
Dave was less boring than Carson, but Conan is the king.
hahah @ Camera #13
Paul has spent his entire career trying to be cool. Give it up, Paul
@hgates101 Agreed...I think Letterman is not only brilliant, but sexy as well!
I wish he still did crap like this.
