    3:55 fill! nice feel for what a groovy human drummer would do.

    You look great in every light 😊

    Video image quality is good, light is little too bright in face - maybe combination of multiple lights, camera ISO value or add back light then camera lit image in balance like it is in detail shots? Thanks for music updates, always nice.

      I'm trying to create more separation with my background as it's quite a small space. Are you saying the face is too bright, or the background should be darker still?

    • @hotlineoperator
      @hotlineoperator 8 місяців тому +1

      @@DanKeenMusic It's a subtle balance, the background can be darker but then the face doesn't need as much light. The camera balances the exposure over the entire image area, if the background is dark, the light falling on the face is emphasized. It is easier to balance the exposure if there is light in the background.

      @@hotlineoperatorThat's assuming the camera is set to auto iso/f stop/shutter speed etc. Dan if you simply lowered the iso by a few hundred there would be more contrast on your face (less blow out) and there would still be enough detail in the background for it to be interesting but dark enough to not be distracting. The issue with soft boxes is that if it's lighting from the same direction as the camera, then it flattens out an image. A better practice would be to place the light slightly off center of the frame, and in that way more contrast will reappear on your face. Great video as always. Truly inspiring see you jam it out like this. Keep em coming sir

      I think the thing is that the face is too evenly lit. Even if you light it from both sides you’d still want a light side and a shadow side. Or alternatively a warm and a cold light.

      I’d also lower the main camera so that your face is in-between the upper and middle third, rather than vertically centered.

    Happy new year Dan, you wanna watch out though that Gary Barlow fella will have that little jam off you in a second. It’s catchy alright, on your way to a second No.1

    on a unrelated note, is that a sphere mic I see before you? I just recently got into the UA universe and at the same time bought myself the DLX (and I have a second one coming). Works great! sometimes I will put it up and leave my tubemics in their cases just cause it's so versatile

      It is! Townsend Labs sent me a Sphere just before they were acquired by UAD. Great mic!

    Good to see new videos and hear new sounds from you. What was that UJAM drum plugin you’re using? I recently gotten the Dope 2 plugin from them. Glad you showed it off so that I can work on using mine. Thanks, sir!

    If you could angle the new side angle so that we can also see your hands in a more angled down POV that would be awesome. Also, cheers on getting contact lenses.
