Love the way you treated Ray! He is awesome and I hope he gets a job because of your interview. Jeez, he would be great working for a church or assisting with a homeless program. Giving him lunch money was great, giving him the opportunity to interview people and be treated with value was priceless.
“Houston isn’t dangerous”….Well I lived in NY my whole life, no issues. 5 years almost on the dot and I was robbed at gunpoint and assaulted with a deadly weapon last week at my “secure and safe luxury” high rise. Stay safe H-Town
Houston is a shithole waiting to implode and everyone knows this. Beryl barely even grazed us on our balls and the whole grid went to shit. It only took 7 days before people started attacking Centerpoint trucks on the highway and in neighborhoods. Rich neighborhoods getting caught diverting all the funds to theirs from poor hoods, building the low income housing on toxic land, got rid of the public bikes for the city in a state that has the highest rates of obesity. With the way zoning is and lack of pay (no protections either working in 100 degree heat) for increased prices that shove you out of the city towards even shittier areas, I wouldn't be surprised this place or you are getting robbed in your "luxury" apartments. This place was decent once upon a time, ghetto, but decent. Been back a year and definitely the whites sub groups of yuppies, conservatives from other states have claimed it and are trying to push others out, while the middle eastern dudes help push out businesses or competition. People that don't have kids or aren't married, don't have property, like not feeling like a criminal for smoking weed, go somewhere else for a reason. Everyone else is just stuck.
Hello Nick. I moved from Chicago to Huston and I absolutely hate it here. The heat, cold rude people. Very boring no culture. I will be moving back. They got problems but al arts point fingers at other states. They got ton of issues here. I don’t care what they say. I prefer Midwest any day over the South.
Glad you took that from just living in one city when Texas is a HUGE ass state with may diffirent places and people. Its like people saying Washington sucks because they dont like living in Seattle.
Here in my area of Texas...about an hr north west of Victoria TX... I just saw a sign put up at the entrance to the parking lot of my kids' elementary/high school, staying and warning THAT THE STAFF AT AND ON SCHOOL GROUNDS ARE LEGALLY CARRYING.
At this time day everyone in downtown is at work right now, you wont see much people hangout unless there event nearby or maybe lunch time lol. At night everything closes. Try midtown, museum district, galleria, The Woodlands area for more interactions. Better yet come during the Rodeo! Oh how I miss home. lol
Go in the real hood of Houston not downtown. Go sunnyside. Any place on the north side go get a real taste of Houston Greenspoint area 45 New York go over there not crummy downtown
Let’s get Ray a job!! Tmrw we will be in NEW ORLEANS!!
W Ray!

Maybe try working 5 days a week 10 hour days in a trade. You’ll meet the best people around down here.
