the new one i think is nicer... when someone in asia gets the inspiration and drive to make some out of strictly nitinol and or mixtures of super materials like carbon nano materials , borophene ..and so one .. we will surely see something very impressive.. my most awaited anticipation is of an extending via compressed gass or mercury that can than be magnetic/electrically vibrated at extremely high frequency that will make a solid extended plasma rod of the tech.. i.e , a light saber... once more, , nitinol and carbon nano and borophene threads in a telescoping webbed arrangement, that can be compressed into extension by pressurizing, , similarly to the air bag lift fake hydraulic pumps on cars,, but not exactly the same, not nearly, .. actually much more like the inflatable deflatable garden hoses that somebody made somewhere whenever

This reply may be out of date already! Did you get one? I still use mine occasionally although the focus has become more and more on the Japanese weapons. Certainly the only part that needs replacing is the tassel, so in terms of quality it's been going just fine!
im pretty sure actually, that stainless steel does NoT stick w magnets.. your going to make me Google it again now, but from what i can remember from scraping metal the times i had done so....
Haha yeah, I might have heard it somewhere. I wonder how to test it then? I was more worried about carrying it in public here and having a problem as the officials use a magnet to test it.
and so... the answer is... BOTH..!!! .. when it has nickel, which is used to be able to add more carbon to make the metal stronger, it is nOt MagnetiC.. when in other cases it can be magnetic... in my own experience though, i remember being told it was not, otherwise REAL stainless was nOt magnetic.. so, there ya go.. your sword is strong stainless
Oh wow I used to have the 2nd one many years ago! That brings back memories 😃
Very cool ones
Nice!

How’s your training coming along with the new stainless extendable sword? Is it holding up or falling apart? I’m thinking of getting one also

Magnets don't stick to some grades of stainless steel.
At the airport here they check the swords with magnets. I don't know much about the different grades of steel though, maybe it is then! :)

You probably know this by know, stainless steel is not magnetic. Great sword.

@@sarahhelena1333 What is the reason swords need to be tested at the airport?

Stainless steel is not magnetic. 😁
Ah, it looks like someone already said that 🙂
I don't know, but they use the magnet at the airport in Japan to test of the sword is a nihonto or an iaito. Maybe it's not a good test?
