Wanted to let you know that I did the LED lights upgrade on my gen 1 Tundra. I love the results. Does the radio install require any side spacers to fill in the opening in the dash?
I replaced my trucks radio with a CarPlay Sony. It’s such a awesome upgrade! Makes a huge difference over the junky aftermarket radio someone installed prior to me owning it! I love CarPlay and couldn’t live without it now! Luckily the previous owner who installed the radio didn’t bodge the factory hardness and had a proper adaptor in there. First off. Love all the 2002 Tundra videos. I have a 2002 also (only v6 2x2) and every video is something I have faced or wanted to look into. I bought a cheapie that is about the same depth as this head unit and tried to use my stock brackets and had to kind of force it in there. So I'm wondering if I will need to purchase an additional mounting bracket for the dash or if it comes with it
Hey man, the head unit does come with the side plates and it matched decently well with the factory brackets, I think I was able to use 3 out of 4 screws on either side, but it all feels solid and you wouldn't know once everything is reinstalled. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
