I put this in prior to my Stage 1 tune. I am on the paddles constantly and noticed the difference right away. After tune it was even more noticeable on the downshifts
I drove an S5 I am considering buying this week. It had the ZF transmission but I am used to VW DSG in my mk6 Golf R. When downshifting from say 5th to 2nd, it would take much longer than in my Golf before the engine rpms settled and the car felt 'in gear' and ready to go. I was off the power when shifting. Will your mod help with this or is it just a property of the 'auto' vs 'dsg'. Thanks!
A transmission mount will not increase shift speeds. It improves shifting feeling and drastically reduces transmission movement during shifts and under deceleration. I think I was disappointed that the stock gearbox felt like a DSG on upshifts under power, (great) but downshifts when decelerating felt like a typical auto torque converter (bad) - that is, slow, vague, and slushy. Would the tune make the biggest difference to get a more DSG feel than the mount upgrade? Cheers
