How do I get a FQDN ? Can't find directions to connect one. Everyone says don't do it. Or don't know how to do it without.
Good info. Please no music in future videos.
I know not the type of video for that music.
Thanks for posting your comments, i will improve my background music in my next videos
Does it work without buying a domain name?
Yes. if you have Dynamic DNS address, it's works
I'm getting the cert was already issued to the domain. Still get the message even if I try a different sub domain.
Hello. If you figure out that issu?
So this only works if you use a dns name to reach pfsense? What if you try to use the ip? Will it show as secure?
whether accessing pfSense via IP address results in a secure connection depends on how pfSense is configured and the security settings of the browser being used. It's generally recommended to access network devices using DNS names or domain name with valid SSL certificates to ensure a secure and seamless browsing experience
Can you please update this video for Pfsense 2.7.2?
I appreciate your request! It's great to know that you're interested in an updated video for Pfsense 2.7.2. I'll make sure to prioritize it and work on it as soon as possible.
Can I use this for SSL Man in the Middle CA?
Thanks for checking out the video! Yes, you can definitely use this for SSL Man in the Middle CA.
I'm trying to reproduce the process on my pfsense 2.7.0.
The option "stanalone http server" for my pfsense not working.
I only managed with the manual dns entry
I encountered a similar issue with the 'standalone HTTP server' option in pfSense 2.7 In my case, it wasn't working either. However, I found a workaround by manually configuring DNS entries. If you'd like, I can walk you through the steps I followed to set it up manually
I am having the same issue and it appears then when I select my cert under System > Advanced it doesnt actually save. It also appears the cert was actually never issued either.@@cybernetwold
@@cybernetwold usind DNS manual work but ther is an other problem: automatic renewal does not work.
During automatic renewal appear this message:
The dns manual mode can not renew automatically, you must issue it again manually. You'd better use the other modes instead.
@@cybernetwold Hi can you please share the manual DNS entry? thanks
hi noobs here..this does secure also captive portal page to avoid https certificate warning?
Yes, no problem. We avoid this only until we install the SSL Certificate
@@cybernetwold wow, thank you finally hopes this will be the solution im looking for this captive portal issue of pfsense..feedback you once i test.
