So in this case a digital certificate instead of a pre-shared key is used for authenication, right?
Hm, not sure if this question makes sense. In this video we cover SSL/TLS in the context encryption of data exchanged between a web browser and a server.
@Sematext I am referring to digital SSL certificate. Since an SSL certificate contains a server's domain name, certificate authority and public key, it seems to be used for authentication before the encryption is started.
Congratulations, by the way!
You should use SSL (TLS) all the time. Without it you run the risk of someone adding their own files, images, or whatever they want to send to your site without your knowledge. If you don't use it you might get google saying that your site has a virus or (worst) some law enforcement entity wanting to charge you with kitty porn.
You know the switching in and out (zoom-in - Zoom-out) is really irritating and distracting. Otherwise a really helpful and informative video. Thanks
4:38 Was the infographic suppose to say Client instead of "Cleint"?
@@Sematext No worries, thank you for the video. It really helped break things down to be more easily understood.
Dude..... you are destroying the tech romance when you downgrade the sexy cloud into "someone else's computer"...... :-)
The most comprehensive explanation of SSL & TLS I've seen so far. Thank you!
Oh, that's great to hear, thanks @loveafinni !
