Thank you, my friend, I really appreciate your video, because it is my first CD4E transmission rebuild! Your instruction is thorough, informative, and step-by-step! Just what I needed and I am grateful for it...Thanks again!
Awesome work Brother. Having issue with my Daughters 06 Escape. Tried a few things myself but in over my head. Gonna see about a rebuild. Hopefully it works out well
I'm debating on if I should rebuild just for experience. The car for some reason will drive good if it sits for a week. No reverse. Once it warms up, the car stops working. Any idea what would cause the car to run when left to sit for a while?
This video is a godsend. I took my CD4E apart today, slipped so bad in drive and reverse car would barely move. I found a bearing on the sprag/sungear assembly that was just mauled. Looks like it took out a race also. There is also pitting on the shaft fromi it. Is there anything I should be looking for in particular that could have made this fail? I am not sure if this is the sole reason of the slippage, I havent taken apart the pump yet. Have not found any bad parts except this bearing (but this is also my first tranny build)
The Torrington bearings on the input shaft/sun gear sprag assembly always go bad. The sprag can roll and seize up. Make sure it spins correctly also. If it barely moves the filter could be plugged with converter clutch/metal.
Would you happen to know if both lip seals on the forward/reverse piston face down? I took the outer one off a month ago and didn’t pay attention but the inner one for sure was facing down.
@@andrewkoutlas Thank you for this video. I did the 2-4 band replacement. Only, my drum fell out. Now, after assembly, I can't get the vehicle started. It seems so simple. Put the drum back in place, install the pump, reassemble mounts, and go. Only, I can't get the drum to go back perfectly snug. Can I find some way to reinstall the drum without removing the transmission completely? Please advise.
Hi I have a Ford Escape with CD4E trany when I turn it on I can go forward or back but after 1 minute disengage wondering what is wrong with it please let me know if you can
Great video, but I need some help! For some reason when I start to bolt down my case, the differential is getting locked up. I tried to test it by attaching a transfer case off the car (spinning output shaft by hand) and it only spins with the case un-bolted, even if I just add one case bolt, she doesn't move. I can't figure this out for the life of me. I posted a video below. ua-cam.com/video/DviuenqlNZ4/v-deo.html

Excellent video
Where does the little orfice screen go? Great job btw.
I wish I could do this. My 2003 Ford Escape stopped going forward. Only reverse works. :(
Love the lesson, but brother you have to center the camera, other than that ur presentation was excellent 😂

Hey where R U located??
Can you use Transmax sonnix bearings instead of Torington?
So good video why quit man?
Do you have the OTC part number for the tool for the low/reverse piston
