Picked up a 750 swapped js550 this winter and had alot of little problems, found your guys channel and just watching your vids has helped alot. I work on cars so marine is all new to me
Shweet vid on an odd engine swap. Loved the fab work on the coupler on the driveshaft, and she sounds like she rips it up!!! Great work bud, and I am looking forward to more of the standup vids.
There is a reason the 550 is so loved. It’s hard starting , rotten on gas and has just enough room in the tray for a 4 year old. But for the armature you could throw it around and do really neat tricks. Once you master the sub and a 40 MPH power slide they leave you wanting more, a lot more. Sure, you can throw a bunch of time and money at the 550 and end up with an expensive ski that leaves you wanting more…..I’ve owned everything Kawasaki has ever made to stand on and the 550 was the one ski I was truly glad to see go…..
my first two skis, a 440 and a 550sx that was completely tricked out and raced about a gazillion years ago. the motor went up to 660, I blew it up twice, and it even had a runaway on me. I sunk the boat twice, doing submarines and then the hat would pop off. it had sponsons on the back like yours, I would freak people out because I could take that ski and slide it sideways on smooth water, I s*** you not, at 40 mph sideways. completely freaking sideways. a friend of mine raced a couple of Kawasaki 650, we swapped one day and he tried to slide sideways like I do, let's just say he ate s*** hard.. I love that 550 ski that was my favorite, although it did cut my pinky toe off. you got to watch getting that pinky toe in that weep hole in the back. felt like I stubbed my toe until I got out of the water and folded my toe all the way back and looked into my foot. good times my friend good times. 🥴👍⚓❤️💯
Excellent video. I love the build. Obviously a lot more work than you showed, but it was a cool build vid. You guys do lots of detailed builds, so you can get away with this, haha.
Yeah I had to do a bit of messing around. Wasn't hard but with everything else I got going at the same time, I was a bit divided. It turned out good in the end.
@@Jacobskibros It's kinda been too hot here to do much. I've been playing around and making a mess in the garage, but not making much progress. It's been around 100F here all week and we are not used to that. We don't have AC so there's no escaping it at night... Great riding weather, but BJ sent me a text on Monday to go riding, (I was done work early) but I didn't see his message till 7pm haha.
This is sad seeing the stickers being removed of this thing cause I’ve restored 2 and on my way to number 3 and I’ve had a hard time finding these stickers
@@Jacobskibros new job I'm in middle of calving on a dairy farm I'm still your biggest fan 🤩 Just been flat out adulting .no days off sux being a Boss sometimes
Great lil ski. I was building bikes/jetskis for Burnaby Kawasaki in BC Canada those years. Thanks for the memories.
You guys inspired me to make my own channel, I love how you work on all different types of skis and not just one.

I Second everything you said except the last part, they’re still the most fun ski to ride and I’ll always own at least one
I started out on a 87 Js550. Had a big bore kit and a pipe.

Nice build! also loved the intro!
I just got a 87’ JS today for free with title! I’m going to keep her stock, but she will be a fun project!
This was a great video, I would have liked to seen more about how to hook your exhaust up though, but man what a sweet ride!
I like the swap.
finished up a 640 swap last month, great swap, rips to
great video to watch during lunch time👍🏽
I did the same thing.

Whats up Jacob. Whats the update on robs freestyle surf ski?
could you tell me how you had to modify the gas tank, would appreciate
What happened to the finger throttle ? Is it not worth having , i was thinking of puttong one on my 550sx
are u on the Puget Sound?
Depends
Running it a little close to the shore ? Water looked Awfully low in the beginning
It's a bigger deal if you are worried about messing up the ski that's for sure.
Wheres the 300sx swap?
Anybody know what wheel he is using to remove the stock decals?
The cheapest one on ebay. It was around 10 bucks.
@@Jacobskibros awesome thx for the tip. Oem decals are a B%#$%!
