My first time in Croke Park, a day I’ll always look back on and smile !!! Got a coach from Achill Island up as down the same day!!! 🌴🌴 Mayo could have snatched the final, imagine there was no booking in that 89 Final v Cork 🏐🏐
Innocent times alright. It's mad nowadays to look back and see corner backs kicking the ball up the field just to "clear their lines". I miss that. Now it's all about keeping possession at all costs, which makes it a bit uninspiring at times. I would ban all hand passing inside your won 45 and all backwards passing inside your own half. I would welcome anybody's opinion on those suggestions.
The modern Kerry/Mayo/Dublin teams would tear apart any of the 'great' teams of the past. No disrespect to the players of the time but the standards today are professional level. I'd say a good few of these fellas had a few pints and smokes in the days leading up to their matches.
Mayos footballing history is absolutely diabolical defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat after defeat trying to win Sam maguire since the 1950s definitely the greatest comedy show in gaa history
