  • In this video we remove the plastic trim that is at the bottom of the windscreen. This is needed if you want to replace the wiper motor or paint the plastic panel.

    Well done - I could watch your video's all day - whilst technically at times open to criticism, I find them down to earth, "real life" and representative of the guys at home fixing their own stuff. I would be happy to be on your team any day!!

    Seen several of your L322 videos over the years that have helped me (have since subscribed and seen many other great vids!)
    Happy new year and Keep up the good work.

    I used the open end of a box end wrench and a hammer to pop those wiper grommets off. Worked pretty well.

    Thanks, useful. i had to repair the likage on the passenger side wiper. Arm had come apart and wouldn't stay on as joint worn. Whole assembly out, drilled through damaged linkage joint and secured with split pin and washers on both sides.

    Did you ever get round to replacing cowl? Have you by any chance encountered a vibration noise? As mine appears to have developed a noise from windscreen area when travelling 50 mph + since cowl removal/replacement

      I only took out that plastik peace in the video to fit a larger battery. I also have wind noise now but only on one side. Think some of this clips are broken. Have to take it out again to check

    Thanks for this video. I am getting wind noise and I tried everything else. I removed the cowl and now I can try sealing up and checking for windscreen sealant for gaps. Any ideas are welcome also.

      Glad the video was of use... not sure on the wind noise - my guess would be the A pillars would see more "buffeting" than the windscreen cowl area ?

    Very interesting, it may be time to invest in a copper/hide mallet rather than using a carpenters claw hammer to thump things with, also a good idea to use the air line to blast all the junk off the channel before it all drops into the scuttle. Thanks for posting this operation.

      Good points - as you can probably tell i am not properly workshop trained...more of a "have a go office boy" really. I will get a copper hide mallet on order !
      Are you English living in France..... if so i am jealous !

      @@L663 "Have a go office boy ", well, you are really giving a lot of encouragement to others with the videos you produce, with modern cars using the multitude of hidden plastic clips and screws it is all too easy to ruin a part just finding out how it comes apart, the old way was to go to the nearest breakers yard and tear one apart there, armed with this knowledge you could then attempt a dismantling on your own vehicle with a chance of success, but now we have UA-cam to show us what is under the plastic trim, your door mirror video was particularly helpful as this is a job I have to do on mine, you will find the copper/ hide mallet a huge benefit as it does not damage whatever you are striking. Living in France yes, t is very nice, just like England was 50 years ago.

    Great video. My wipers work properly but the don’t park in the “home” position, do you have any idea on how to fix that?

      MRriky97 did you ever solve your issue? I have the same problem and suspect the wiper motor .

    My god, that’s exactly how not to remove wiper arms. Ever heard of a wiper arm puller? You’re likely to break the cowl cover (which you did), or the windshield. Irresponsible to post an instructional video with such poor methodology.

  • @DrAAgon21
    @DrAAgon21 4 роки тому

    Don’t EVER hit the wiper post with a hammer. If you don’t know how to properly remove the wiper arm then you shouldn’t be making “how to” videos.
