I didn't talk about what sort of computer you need 🤦🏾♀️You can use any computer or tablet with a decent camera and mic. If using a tablet I don't suggest using a "mini" try to get something with at least an 10inch screen. I honestly think a Chromebook is the best option if you don't have a computer at all.
I had to go out and buy a laptop with a 16GB RAM processor to ensure I didn't have problems with performing RON. I ran into problems using typical 8GB RAM laptops for RON transactions.

I really needed to hear the "Just get started" part. I have everything for RON work and Signing Agent work but I am sooooo scared that I did all this work and I'll end up hating it. Thank you for taking the time out to put all of the information together and giving it us.

Your presentation was Excellent and the missing piece for me. I have everything I need to get started but was not quite clear as to how to utilize my Identrust Digital Certificate. Finally received state approval for RONs and E-Signs 3 days ago (after waiting over 2 months), called Identrust for help with the certificate. My question to the rep who assisted me was where or what platform I could use the certificate on? His answer was I will email you some resources with will answer that. I received the email and it did not answer my question. But you did! You were Great! Thank you for the clarification of the digital certificate.

I am just seeing this video where can I get the spreadsheet from that has the RON platforms?
Quick question im in FL and I would like to use Notarize as my platform but they are saying I have to become a signing agent first. My whole thing is I will eventually become one but I cannot seem to get a straight answer on this.....Do I need to fully be signed up with the platform I would like to use before I list them on my application? Or is it ok to just list a provider I would like to use?
So with Notarize they do in fact require you to be a signing agent because you may get assigned a notarization related to a real estate transaction. In the state I live in they don’t care if you’re actually signed up they just want you to tell them what platforms you may use.

What's your favorite RON platform to use?
I am in the state of Missouri and just received my commission and now in the stages to progress towards getting RON certified. In the meantime I've been reaching out to the various platforms that Missouri has approved and some few ideas where I may like to start, but I was curious if anyone might have some insight on which ones would be the better choices to start with for someone who has no notary experience. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @Xoph Cal Have you done many traditional, paper, notarizations yet? If not, this would be an excellent place to start. Building your confidence as a Notary Public is actually what will allow you to be great in whatever direction you decide to go in. Understanding what your State allows and expects, from their website, is the best place to start. Especially if they should have sample documents of Acknowledgements and Jurats or any other types that they allow. Understanding what the Notarial block should look like, knowing when and what you will say when administering an oath, are important. Doing this in person will be less pressure than on camera and allows you to become much more comfortable. If you don't have any clients, you could offer/volunteer your services to experience working with the public. (Agencies such as shelters, women's shelters, senior centers, etc would appreciate your help) Then, when you choose your platform, you can concentrate on learning what needs to be done with the platform to properly complete the online notarization. My best to you as you launch your business. I am sure you'll do well. 😊
Does my digital certificate (I'm in Washington) need to match the name on my notary commission? I use only my first and middle initial on my actual stamp and signature, so I'm not sure if it's okay for me to apply for the digital certificate with my full legal name, but that's what IdenTrust is requiring me to do.

The pay is LOUSY on platforms that give you clients.
Pay may not be great on the platforms that give you clients, but you gain the experience needed to go independent. Remember going independent will require you to market yourself to gain your own clients, you pay for access to a platform, you keep the whole fees, but you need to market yourself appropriately to make paying for a platform viable.
What platforms provide clients for you?
