- I'll teach you the entire tune from start to finish. I play each part, including the solo, and then break it down and go slowly to show you the parts calling out the majority of the notes so you can get it under your fingers.
As always thanks for watching. Subscribe if you have not yet. And look out for many more tutorial videos on my channel.
My band has this scheduled for next rehearsal. Couldn’t have done it without this excellent tutorial. Thanks Mike. Greatly appreciated!
Very cool James! Good luck with the tune in the band and check back here and let me know how it's going. ~Mike
this song is A BURNER in the set list - the audience will love it, believe me ;-)
One of the best tutorials I've ever watched....thanks!
Thanks that really means a lot to me!! Regards, Mike
I was never a big fan of this song. My bass player wanted to cover it and this is years ago, so we did . It was one of my favs to play . The crowd loves it and I just got to dance around a play it. Well 8 or 10years go by and hear I am trying to learn it for a reunion gig. Most excellent video. Looking at this video I dont know if I ever really played it right but I feel like you are and since the gig is tomorrow I'm using this.haha thanks
Have a great reunion gig David and thanks a lot for the commentary!
@@crazyb3fan I'm practicing this song right now. Pretty week.I thought this was going to be a 10 min. Song to learn but a hours gone by and....thanks to you I'll get it. I dont think I would have off the recording.
Thank you very much Michael, great lesson!!!!
I’m dutch and saw Golden Earring live about 10 times, they were incredible.
Unfortunately George has got the illness A.L.S, so this greatest Dutch rock band had to stop their performances 2 years ago.
George (Kooymans) was not only the guitarplayer but also a very good singer.
With Barry Hay, he sung most of the songs. It is so sad for him and the band.
Could you please, please, please help me with the tab of the song?
I’m very willing to pay for it.
Thanks in advance Michael!
Thanks Mike-I have been looking for a good tutorial on this song for years and you have answered my prayers! A very accurate and clear explanation on the various sections of the song. Cheers!
Thanks Keef! This was a really fun one to do. ~Mike

Great Mike! Good tutorial!
Jens thank you! That means a lot coming from you - Take care, Mike
this helped fill some missing pieces for me, thank you
absolutely TOP lesson - THANKS SO MUCH!!
I love the tutorial. One question is: during the chorus, the lead guitarist plays a little lick, which I would guess is around the 14th fret. Can you do a quick lesson for that lick?
Thanks for the tutorial it was extremely helpful. I have always wanted to play this song
Thanks buddy.Standing in for a band playing this at the weekend. Great help.
This makes me very happy to hear that I'm able to help you out for a gig. Have a great gig and take care!

You left out the F#m in the prechorus.......E....B....F#m, E....B....C# etc......"When I get lonely and I'm sure I've had e-NOUGH".... F#m right where he sings "NOUGH"..Just a teeny FYI............Great job breaking down the guitar parts for the verses and middle section ....Thank you!!!!
The pre-chorus part is not quite right.
Thank you very much !!!
You are very welcome thanks a lot for checking out the channel!
Well done, great tone, thnx...
Thanks man! Appreciate it
You're welcome!
Hey thanks for the lesson but you missed a whole part of the solo you played. You skipped over the first part in position two when you transition into position two of the pentatonic in case you want to fix it.
Amazing job & so well put over.. 5* & thank you :)
Thanks very much for your kind words!
once again you include those little subtleties that make the difference when learning this song, sweet!
when did you get the Suhr, and do you still have the music man? Sounding good bro
Hi David hope you are good. Thanks for watching. I'm back into making videos after a few years hiatus due to the business of my schedule. Yeah so I've had the Suhr for maybe 3 years. Love that guitar. It has a third pickup in the middle to get some strat style tones with a 5 way switch. I don't have either MM guitar. Sold them off years ago. I went back to Gibsons mostly and the Suhr. And I still have my Stratocaster which I bought new in 1989. I used that to make some of the early videos back from the VB days. Wow that was a long time ago!
yea, ages ago it seems. The suhr sounds great, but its all in the hands isn't it. ha ha. Enjoying the vids, working on the pullofts/speed other that I got it. still a hack but sometimes I can make ya tap your foot.
Not really the whole tune, there's a slide guitar part throughout the song, any chance you could post that?
What guitar did you use in this video, i'm am curious in buying a guitar and this sounded very good
It is a Suhr Classic T-style guitar. Check them out at www.suhr.com. Mine has 3 pickups which is not the standard Tele configuration. But I'm sure I'm on the treble pickup for this whole tutorial.
@@crazyb3fan thanks, sure will check them out
Did you do the riff for "no more speed Im almost there"? killer little notes!!
I watched it and hope I didn't miss it!!
Excellent tutorial! Sub'd!!!!
Thank you for the comment and the sub! You know I don't think I specifically put those couple of riffs in the tutorial. Do you want me to figure them out and get a quick video of them up? ~Mike
Sure if you want to...I'd love it!
What are you using for effect?
Hi and thanks for watching. There are no effects in this signal chain at all. The guitar is a T-Style from Suhr. I'm plugging straight into a Fuchs ODS-30 head. From there I'm using a Suhr Reactive Load box and then direct into the audio interface and into an audio track in Logic Pro X. I have the Two Notes WOSIII plug-in loaded with their Colorado cabinet which is a Bludotone® open back 1x12 loaded with a Scumback® H75. So it's a D-Style tone with the Tele. No delay or any pedals at all. A touch of reverb from the amp is it.
Sounds like you have the tone nailed for that song, I would have expected some fuzz pedal and maybe a tad of delay. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the lesson. Please mic yourself closer so that we can hear your commentary better. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback. My setup continues to evolve and hopefully get better with time and I appreciate the feedback about a better balance of volume between voice-over and guitar. ~Mike
