What blinds are you using that can be controlled by a wall switch?

New to smart home. When I have a block of 3 switches , do have to replace all with smart devices or can I just change one switch and leave the other 2 as regular switches.

You can just change one if you’d like.

I went with Meross wifi switches in my house. After getting rid of my Netgear wifi (2x WAX630e 2x WAX610Y) and moving over to Ubiquity, I've been exceptionally happy with the ~65ish Meross switches and outlets.

My only quibble with Meross is I wish the rocker worked on top and the bottom. Still prefer it largely to these button switches.

@@TimFitzGeraldca I’d never noticed/thought about that. It is rocker shaped but you’re right it’s just a single push button.

So I am in a Reno of my kitchen and replaced all the can lights with Philips wiz lights. I have 3 separate circuits they r in. 1 over sink. 5 over kitchen and 1 over front entry. Also sake room I replaced a chandelier with a Philips wiz 100 watt multi color. And the dining room table has the mini Philips not color wiz bulbs. I like the wiz remote control great accessory. But the Philips wiz motion detector is crap I think. Cool off time is ok but very limited in the app for example I set a automation for night light mode for the entire room at 5am when I go to work then off well the motion sensor overrides it and it puts lights to full brightness. I’m
Thinking on getting the thread $39 motion sensor / light sensor u recommended. Instead. Is that a smart choice also did I make the right choice on bulbs I want to have them in HomeKit Prob need a hub right. ? I also have the Cabnient under lighting Philips wiz and island led strips in this same system. What’s the best reliable choice for my setup. We use Alexa and HomeKit. Also should I update my switches in this room to smart switches so kids don’t turn off lights and they don’t work. Thanks for all the help

Do the switches work with fans that already have a remote control? Do you need a certain kind of fan?

    • @ShaneCreates

You just need a fan that has its own light switch (with neutral wire). Doesn’t matter which fan.

@@ByrdNick if your fan has a remote that probably means it can be speed controlled from the remote so in order for the Lutron controller in the wall to work properly, you will need to set your fan to 100% all the time on the remote and then only adjust the speed via Lutron, etc.

@@ShaneCreates actually it does. The lutron fan control switches only work with AC fans, not DC. This is becoming an issue as more and more fans are DC these days because they are better and quiter fans.

Do you need a certain type of ceiling fan and/or lights? I’m looking into getting my ceiling fan/light connected to HomeKit.

Do these work natively with HomeKit?
