  • Andrew Strom was invited to speak with a bunch of other holiness preachers
at a Revival conference in Canada. What he said was not taken too well by a number of them. But why on earth would they protest such a message? (-Preached in Victoria, Canada in June 2010).

My pastor has been preaching this same word for several years. Almost everyone has left our gathering. Those who left were not rejecting the pastor or the word - they rejected the Truth, the Word Himself - Jesus Christ.

Wonderful to hear this teaching, Andrew! I feel clean, hallelujah! Watchman Nee’s book and Charles Finney’s book were the first books the Holy Spirit led me to after my sanctification experience. I long for the body of Christ to experience this as a reality. The whole of creation is groaning waiting for the sons of God to be revealed! Preach it brother!

I have experienced this brother!! It was soooo amazing. First he convicted me of my hipocricy. As I was wailing in repentance, I saw myself before a bright light that I knew to be the Father and I was so afraid and wanted to hide from His Holy presence because I would die. Then the Holy Spirit brought Gal. 2:20 I was crucified with Christ and it is no longer I that live but Christ liveth in me...!!! I started repeating it and I felt I died and Christ filled me. I could be in the presence of the Father in complete peace. I walked in this peace for days and nothing could disturb it. Another time I just looked up and said in prayer "Jesus, you are the door", and down came the presence of Christ like a heat and holy love. All desire or consciousness of sin was removed and I could not sin. I was listening to a conversation that had critical comments and couldn't fathom how they could say such things. It was practically impossible for me to sin in that state.

This is amazing & timely. Thank you Andrew. Amen, Its not a secondary optional/elite Christianity ... There is not another Christianity. I began early in my salvation trying to clean up 1st man Adam and put on Christ. The weakness that fasting brought seemed to help for a while and so followed regular 3 day fasts, when that no longer seemed to cut it and sin seemed to ascend again, I began the 7 day fasts, then necessity & desperation meant 10 day fasts. Still I could not maintain a clean walk in my mind before my Lord. So I fasted 16 days & believed I found the secret ... Exhaustion and weakness! What an awful victory of sorts that was!
On the 16th day when the fast ended I was heading home for a single orange juice, I was so excited about that.. On my way the town darling passed me and gave me the biggest smile. Right there and then I could tell that I had just wasted 16 days of suffering. So, i felt I had to step it up again and later began a 21 day fast in desperation for an abiding, victorious & resurrection life... It was misery everyday. It was good for about one week after it, then Adam reappeared in my heart. I was still desperate even in my discouragement so I began to spend entire days lying on my face before the Lord, pleading for the secret of a holy life... Then one day as I read "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee, revelation flooded my soul, that the work was done already, I wept for joy. I was dead indeed unto sin ALREADY and buried with Christ in Baptism, AND risen with Him by faith - HALLELUJAH! What a day that was when Gal 2:20 became a living reality. I believe that I can honestly testify to walking in revival victory, abiding in Christs power over sin for decades. Its not an improved, determined life. Its a rest in the exchanged life of Christ. . Great is the mystery of Godliness,

    Hebrews 4:10 KJVS
[10] For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
    1 Peter 4:1
    [1] Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

Much needed teaching Andrew. Not understanding our holiness in Christ has been a stumbling block to the Church 1 Cor 1;30 says "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who is of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption" Christ IS our sanctification. "as He is, so are we in this world" 1 John 4:17. The work of Christ is a finished work and this is the truth that is will cause the Church to rise up in these end of the age days. The Accuser of the brethren keeps up the barrage of accusation to keep us under. The last generation will rise up knowing that the accuser has no legal right to accuse us. This is seen in Revelation 12 as the Manchild, [the last generation] rises up to Kingdom authority and Satan is cast down. Again, in the Types we are coming to River Jordan. Moses [the Law, self effort] is dead.but Joshua [Jesus] will 'cause us to inherit'. coming to the Cross we are justified by faith, sanctified because our sins are buried in His grave, and baptised by the Spirit into Christ. We are now one with Him. there is much more I could say but I just wanted to say you are right on track. It requires revelation and this is where I found the types of Israel invaluable. blessings Val

When I was in the Army, I preached a sermon that challenged the group (including myself ) to make "holiness your goal." I got lambasted, like you, I couldn't understand how such a message would cause such controversy. I finally realized that as a clergy, we are not humble enough to apply the this truth to ourselves. And yet it's probably one of the most important. So, rejoice that you hit them where they needed to be hit: in their hearts. The protest shows you this. Clergy are sometimes the hardest to reach!

Bang on Point Brother Andrew. The Number one thing thats NOT BEING TAUGHT from the Pulpit is this, the SIGNIFICANCE of WHO JESUS WAS, WHY JESUS CAME, WHAT JESUS ACHIEVED at the CROSS. When the Holy Spirit reveals this truth, Clarity/Conviction begins to take hold of ones heart therefore Repentance leading to Sanctification leading to Holiness Starts to Transform you into Christ's Likeness...
The Number one problem in the Church today is at the core of what Brother Strom is talking about; the People are Biblically illiterate due to the infiltration of technology and the Cares of this Life therefore falling prey to being Spoonfed halftruths Heretical fables from the Pulpit...

You are not alone. That's why our Heavenly Father sent His Son because He wanted to redeem us. He knows we're clay and in need of a Shepherd. Because you continue to see your need of Him, He will continue to love and change you into His image. He is the author and finisher of your faith. Transform and renew your mind by the washing of the Word. You don't always have to get a "revelation" or a warm fuzzy feeling when reading His Word. Just read it. It may seem like 1 verse a day will not do anything even if that's all you can do, but I promise His Word is living and active and a 2 edged sword that will transform you. He hastens to perform it. It will not return to Him void. It will spring up when needed and transform your life. Just keep running the race and fight the good fight of faith.

"The prodigal son was resolved to come, yet he was half afraid. But we read that his father ran. Slow are the steps of repentance, but swift are the feet of forgiveness." (C. Spurgeon)
It's not about me, or how I feel... (Don't trust my feelings! Today I'm on top, tomorrow is another day...) It's ALL about Christ and facts, not feelings! 31:27 wait WHAT?!?!
This is AWESOME news!!! What you basically are saying, is that Adam had the righteousness of Christ, and LEFT it
And Christ brought THAT relationship BACK!
I've always thought Adam had no fault and therefore was righteous by his own and through design, and BECAME a sinner
HOOOLY SMOKES this makes sooo much sense!!!
MAN WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO LIVE OUTSIDE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST, WHICH WE WERE BORN INTO! HE BROUGHT IT BAAAACK!!!
Now the idea of the "fallen state" makes so much sense... wooooooow
Oh I am so happy. BEING IN CHRIST IS OUR NATURAL STATE!!
We were never meant to live without God, we were never meant to live in a state outside GRACE
GRACE is normal for a human being to live in, walking with GOD is how it's suppose to be
AND CHRIST BOUGHT THE RELATIONSHIP THAT ADAM HAD WITH GOD, TO US!! WE CAN WALK WITH GOD AGAIN AS ADAM DID!!!
And the tree of good and evil, of course, it makes sense why there was only "One sin". There must be a way out from the relationship to God, HE IS NOT A PRISON!
Adam was so filled with Christ's righteousness, there was only one thing Adam could do wrong because he wouldn't be tempted by anything else,
and that would be to LEAVE the relationship... which he didn't want either because he was tricked...
It all makes so much sense! Oh the joy, GOD and MAN is can now be united once more, Heaven is accessable again through CHRIST!

So does that mean a Christian should live with out the consciousness of sin at all and just believe that He is saved by grace and so his works or lifestyle does not matter. Is there no need of any introspection or self examination for a Christian as to how he is living or conducting himself in this world? God has already saved us but are we walking faithfully as per His will and commandments? Are we really obeying the Holy Spirit and honoring our bodies as the temples of the Holy Spirit? Faith with out works is Dead. Our works are a kind proof to whom do we belong I believe and whom we are honoring or obeying..!!? We are no more sinners but saints but are our lives indicating that saintliness. Thank you and God Bless ..!! Thank you Brother though the beginning was confusing the ending was good..!! 🙏💐🙌

I had a vision a long while back about being before G_d's throne and Jesus/Yeshua was by my side and covered his cloak over my naked body aka Jesus/Yeshua covered my sin nature, so G_d the Father no longer saw the sin since Jesus/Yeshua covered it.
Was also given a parable called the Vase....
There was this beautiful antique vase that shattered on the floor. A certain person walks up to it and picks up all the pieces and tediously glues the pieces of that vase back together, then puts a lacquer/shellac over it and puts in under a glass frame, and onto a pedestal where it is then put on display for all to see. The vase was beautiful before but now it is even more special, tho it had many cracks in it still. The glue that was used is love/compassion' and the person who did the gluing is Jesus/Yeshua the Messiah, mankind is the vase.
Also another recollecton of a dream from a while back... Was in the desert with Jesus on the righthand side and my friend on the lefthand side who is chinese btw. I was sitting on a donkey and we were in a barren place that was totally backwards. The sun was high in they sky and the sky was blue and all one could see was the desert dunes of sand. I was thirsty so I asked for a drink of water but what I got was a glass of sand. I was repulsed by this so I didn't drink it. Not knowing that everything here in this barren place is opposite and backwards. I was then told to try the glass of sand and it turned out to be water infact. We went a ways in this crazy place and eventually, on the horizon was a mountain of a city of gold and purple, which was shiny in nature. That was our destination.
verses that come to mind...isaiah 5....20Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
    who turn darkness to light
    and light to darkness,
    who replace bitter with sweet
    and sweet with bitter.
the mountain of the city of gold and purple symbolizes the Kingdom of G_d, purple is the colour of royalty and gold...symbolizing purity, rarity, reference to kings and kingdom, wealth/riches too, G_d's love and divinity...
    reasonsforhopejesus.com/the-meaning-of-colors-in-the-bible/
    GOLD
We always start with God. If we add the letter “l” (for love) to the word “God” we get the word “gold.” Gold is a precious metal, of great value, that is highly desired. Jesus is precious and His promises are precious (1 Peter 2:7). He is highly desired (Psalm 42:2, 63:1, Philippians 3:10) and His value exceeds everything and everyone.
Gold represents God’s love because His love is more precious and more valuable than all the gold in the world. Love is the gold of God.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The color gold points to God’s deity. In ancient days, kings, pharaohs, and noblemen were adorned with gold to signify their high position. They were also given gifts of gold to pay homage to their position. And of course, they surrounded themselves with items of gold to proclaim their wealth.
King Solomon had an ivory throne overlaid with the best gold (1 Kings 10:18). When instructions were given for building the furniture in the Tabernacle, God was very specific about the use of gold. Every piece of furniture pointed to Christ and to His deity. For example, in the Holy of Holies, the Ark of the Covenant was constructed of acacia wood (symbolic of Jesus’ humanity) and overlaid with pure gold (symbolic of His divinity). The mercy seat was pure gold as well as the two cherubim, one on each side with wings outstretched (Exodus 25:10-21). The lampstand was constructed of pure gold, and the table of shewbread and the altar of incense were constructed of acacia wood (Christ’s humanity) and overlaid with gold (Christ’s divinity).
Since gold represents God’s love and divinity, it is no surprise that in ancient times many idols and false gods were also created of gold. When Moses was on Mt. Sinai, the Israelites created and worshipped a calf made of gold. Nebuchadnezzar had a statue made that represented kingdoms, and his kingdom Babylon was represented by the head of gold.
Another example of gold representing Jesus’ divinity was at His birth. One of the Wise Men presented Him with a gift of gold, a gift befitting the King of kings that pointed to Jesus being the begotten Son of God.
The wealth of this world will never satisfy:
Ezekiel 7:19 …their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they [silver and gold] shall not satisfy their souls…
Forsaking the gold of this world, our desire should always be for the golden riches of God’s love:
1 John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us…
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
    .....
    www.dentonpbc.org/color_gold.htm
Gold is both a color and a metal and as both color and metal it is associated with Kings, things pertaining to kings, and kingdoms. This correlation will be presented in both the color section of this work and in the metal section of this work.
The first time the word, gold appears in the scriptures is found in Genesis 2:11, 12: "The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone." According to the law of first occurrence, gold is said to be good. Gold is both precious (rare) and valuable. Often throughout history it has been the basis of money exchange. Also, gold is not easily corruptible. Gold is a standard by which other things worth is judged.
Often, gold points us to King Jesus and to his bride, the church. According to Rev. 1:5, 6 Christ has made his children both kings and priests: "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
The things that we learn studying the color gold and its corresponding subject of kings and kingdoms often point us to characteristics, qualities, and works of King Jesus and to characteristics, qualities, and works that we should possess as kings and priests unto God.

I tried to say something. And it blipped away before I could send it.
The Bible speaks of a saved person returning to sin like a dog returning to its vomit. But how many of us have never experienced leaving that vomit?
Can anyone leave that vomit without asking, "Is it me?"
It is me? Will I let Jesus cleanse me of all unrighteousness? 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
For a moment, forget the other church, the other sinner, the other preacher, the other hypocrite, the other cult member or cult leader. Forget about them because you and I cannot reach them for Christ or bring them to cleanliness without being washed ourselves.
Are we free? Or are we filling our nostrils and stomachs with the stench of vomit? Have we given up our love for sin? Is Jesus our Lord?
Have we asked, "Is it me?"

Feeling clean? Feelings are like the wind, they are subject to change and unpredictable. Fact: There are 2 of me; the old flesh-man and the new, born-again me. To say that I stopped sinning when I became born-again is ridiculous. Just because I am a Christian doesn't mean I have resigned from humanity. I am still (also) flesh. Here is what the Apostle Paul said: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." (Rom.7:15) Paul still messed up. He knew and "felt" it . But of course, he also understood that it was NOT the new, born-again Paul who messed up, instead, it was the old man of the flesh. "As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me." (Rom.7:17) He also made clear: "For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want." (Gal.5:17) This inner battle will go on as long as we do not yet have our glorified bodies. Fact: We are born with a sin-gene, inherited from Adam. You don't have to teach little children how to be naughty, it comes quite natural. "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (Ps.51:5) "For all have sinned..." (Rom.3:23) As long as I live with this sinful, inherited nature (Jesus didn't have it, because He was conceived by the Holy Spirit instead of a man), I am a sinner, saved by Grace. (According to Jesus, even a sinful thought condemns me.) However knowing that it's NOT about me but all about Jesus, I have confidence and peace.
As Charles Spurgeon said: "You stand before God as if you were Christ, because Christ stood before God as if He were you." AMEN! YES, there is no more condemnation (Rom.8:1), but, O how sweet is the Holy Spirit's conviction, helping us to change and grow.

@@OneWayTruthLife Would you suggest God lied when He said, "My grace is sufficient?" or that He cleanses us from all unrighteousness in the book of James? Did He hardwire our mortal bodies to deprive us from all ability to avoid sin while blaming us for our sin like a crazy man who throws his dog into the fire for failing to recite Chaucer accurately on command?
Do you worship a dishonest and unreasonable tyrant? Or do you worship an honorable God worthy of worship?
Do you read Romans 7 for an example of how to live the Christian life? Or do you read chapters 6 and 8 and see 7 presented as a contrast to the Chrisitan life as I believe it was intended?
Do you look to the languishing cries of a murderous and adulterous man spewing words of self-condemnation in agony over his sin for doctrine (Ps. 51:5) or to the words about the condition of every sinner (Rom 3:23) as an example of how we are supposed to live in sin if we want to be a true Christian? Can't you see that it is all a statement about our willful, intentional, calculated, chosen, internally driven, weighed, choice to look directly at what it takes to be faithful to God and to His honorable principles and to do violence to those principles as a whore would cheat on her husband or a whoremonger on his wife?
Where did all this sanctimonious nonsense come from defending our unfaithfulness to God as though it were unavoidable as if God failed to give us sufficient grace or as if His salvation were so anemic that it lacked what was needed to give us permission not to sin? And why do we call all that "humility", for goodness sake, casting in a backhanded way the gravest of blame and insults back into God's own face asking Him, "Who resists Your hand?"
How many times would you permit your spouse to sleep with other lovers and violate your wedding vows? Once? Twice? Once a year? Once a month or week or once a day? Or a thousand times per day in thought word and deed?
Do you feel you are more worthy of faithfulness than God? And would you turn away from God and look to man to ask, "What about you?" to use their unfaithfulness as an excuse for your own against God?
Let me be a liar, a hypocrite, a whoremonger, a murderer, a thief, a scoundrel, or the worst of the devils on the planet. Would that give you permission to be the same? Would that justify unfaithfulness to God?
Would you justify your spouse cheating on you because you can see prostitutes walking the street or hear the grotesque boasting of men over their sexual conquests to cover their moral ineptness at conquering their own morality?
Do you test the integrity of God's Word by the unfaithfulness of man? Or do you take God's Word as truth declaring you can let every man be a liar and God will still be holy and honorable to His Word?
No. He does not have to set aside the principles of justice to save man through the blood of Christ. He does not have to lie and pretend He saves from all unrighteousness. He can actually do it in fact. He does not have to lie and declare the guilty innocent when they have not turned their hearts against the sin they once loved. He does not have to call that lying "grace". His grace is more than winking at sin or excusing it for some. And His Son's death on the cross is not for the love of sin or to buy a license to sin without consequence.
He is still and will always be a God of principle, justice, holiness, and love, a God of utmost integrity.

Spiritual Schizophrenia is to believe I am clean, pure and holy inside because if Christ in me but the outer man/ body / flesh still sins or is dirty. Out of the inner man comes his works. What is done outside shows what is inside. Jesus: Out of the heart comes good or bad. The good man brings out of his good heart good things. The bad man ....
If the body still sins, the heart is still sinful and needs cleansing and deliverance. Jesus is mighty to do it and to keep us from stumbling Jude 24

Please look up Union Lodge of St Patrick no. 367 for evidence of John Wesley being a Freemason. From my research, most if not all of these "great Reformers of the church" were. They've done a 'divide and conquer' from the beginning: Methodism, Calvinism, etc.
What happened to the simplicity of the Gospel? What happened to being "like-minded" and not concerned with doctrines of men, as Paul preached?
I heard you mention and praise John Wesley more in this sermon than Jesus.

We must confess to a priest to be absolved. Christ gave the power to forgive sins to his apostles. The Roman Catholic Church and Orthodox alone descended from the apostles.

A conversation I had with someone: part 1 of 3
Do we go to Men to Confess our Sins or go straight to Christ Jesus?

      Sacred Cowtipper,
If you don’t believe people should go to priests for Confession, read John 20:21, where the resurrected Jesus (the veil has already been torn at this point) breathes the Holy Spirit into the Apostles and tells them that whichever sins they retain are retain, and whichever sins they forgive are forgiven. Jesus wanted us to seek forgiveness from God and from the Apostolic line - why would it be different now?
      Hi AP,
Here are the verses you are talking about. Let’s read them and go through this step by step and stay in CONTEXT of what this is teaching. It is actually easier to understand than it would appear. I will break it down for us.
Joh 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Jesus has already resurrected and has now come to the disciples.
Joh 20:20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
So He says PEACE BE UNTO YOU in the previous verse. “Hey guys, it is really me. Look at my hands and side. Here is the proof. You saw me nailed to the cross and you saw me get stabbed into my side.”
Joh 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
Jesus is now commissioning the boys he trained for 3 ½ years to go out and preach the gospel. Do you see anything in this passage’s context that says anything about confessional? You don’t. All this passage is about is Jesus sending out the apostles to preach the gospel of grace and that the Messiah had already come and died and paid the penalty of mankind’s sins thus fulfilling prophetic passages such as Isaiah 52:13 - 15 thru Isaiah 53: 1-12; Psalm 22 and best of all Daniel 9:24-27 which proves the Messiah had to come before the 2nd temple in Jerusalem was destroyed. Let’s go on.
Joh 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
This further shows what is going on here and that Jesus is commissioning the disciples to go and preach the gospel (good news). It’s good news because you can be forgiven because of what Jesus DID and not what you are trying to DO. He is giving them the Holy Spirit which they will need to be born again. Notice Jesus says RECEIVE and not go DO. It’s (salvation that is) is a free gift.
Joh 20:23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
This is the verse you are bringing up. But did you notice that you ignored the previous four verses? Context is everything. The Bible already tells us to go straight to Jesus for forgiveness and calls Jesus our Mediator and Advocate.
Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
This is all this passage means:
If they, the disciples, go preach and someone repents and believes upon the Lord Jesus and His work on the cross, their sins will be remitted (forgiven). If they reject that gospel of grace, their sins are retained.

      part 2:
This is the same as when Jesus SENT the disciples out two by two into the towns before the crucifixion. If the people they preached to in that town rejected the gospel, they were to shake the dust off of their feet as a symbol that their sins were unforgiven in that town and as a testimony against them. Their sins were RETAINED (unforgiven). Here it is.
Mar 6:10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place.
Mar 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.
It is through the preaching of the gospel of grace that people are either saved or condemned on judgment day. If you are trying to earn your salvation by doing this or that, your sins will be retained (unforgiven). If you received what Jesus did for you FREELY on the cross, your sins will be remitted. Your sins are actually remitted the moment you believe on the Lord Jesus in FAITH unless you forsake Him and deny Him later in life and go back under the Jewish laws to try to be saved or if you are even trying to be partially saved by your good works. You either come to Jesus humbly and totally naked in your sins and ask Him for mercy, forgiveness, and to cleanse you or you come to Him proud like the Pharisees boasting about how great you are and all the good works you done and are cast out into outer darkness forever. God only accepts the sacrifice Jesus did on the cross- only that. Any boasting on our part is a mockery of what Jesus did. Look at this story Jesus gave in one of the gospels. It says it all.
The Pharisee and the Tax Collector
Luk 18:9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Understand grace now? Grace isn’t so you can go and live a life of sin after being forgiven as some think they can do but that because you see what it cost Jesus to die and pay your sin-debt for you and offers you freely God’s forgiveness you want to please Him in return by doing what is right AFTER you enter that relationship with Him.
Would you like to give all your sin over to Jesus now and repent of trying to be saved by YOUR works? Did you notice how many times that Pharisee said “I” in the story? What an arrogant man. He is so blind that he can’t see that he has the worst sin of all - pride. Pride is what got Satan and a third of the angels kicked out of Heaven. It’s the worst of all. Not forgiving someone who has done you wrong is a form of pride too because you ignore the countless times you sinned against God or justified your own sin by comparing yourself to someone who may have lived more wickedly than you. Example: How many times have you kept God first place in your life? The first commandment is to love God with all thy heart, soul, strength and mind. That means every thought, word or deed subjected to God’s pre-eminence over you. Have you kept that one every day of your life or has your focus been on yourself 99% of the time like most of us? Everyone on this planet has broken that one thousands of times. Hate someone? Jesus said you are guilty of murder if you hate someone. John brings this out in one of his epistles.

      part 3:
1Jn_3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Have you ever lusted after someone in your heart? Jesus said you are guilty of adultery even if you didn’t physically commit it.
Mat 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
Mat 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
This is probably why Jesus told all those Pharisees who brought the woman caught in the very act of adultery, “Let him who hath no sin cast the first stone.”
They all had lust-filled hearts yet on the outward did all kinds of good works and boasting of their good works but had no Saviour to wash their sins away.
Did you know 68% of church-going men in America right now admit to looking at pornography regularly and up to 50% of all Catholic priests are homosexuals now? These pornography addicted souls all have committed adultery thousands if not millions of times in their heart. Most people have lusted in their heart at least somewhat so they are even guilty as God is perfectly holy, holy, holy. God’s standard is perfection. You are no longer perfect if you committed ONE sin in your entire life. And if a person is intellectually honest with themselves and others they will admit they broke God’s commands countless times throughout their life. They need a Saviour. Without a Saviour, they are lost forever and will go to hell. There is no purgatory. That is not in the Bible. The Catholic Church made that up to get money to build Saint Peter’s basilica centuries ago. Yes, your hierarchy has been conning you for years. Research some of this stuff instead of going on in life blindly hoping you are right. Purgatory is making God’s Word a lie because it contradicts so many other passages. It brings your religion back to a “works-based” salvation and not grace at all. And no works can save. That is the ONE thing that sets apart true Biblical Christianity with all other religions and cults in the world- they try to be saved by works but true Christianity says you CANNOT BE SAVED BY WORKS. Here are some verses that prove that. And remember God’s Word never contradicts itself so if something seems to contradict, either your understanding of that passage is wrong or someone is adding to the word of God what it isn’t teaching.
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Grace in the original Greek this was written in means UNMERITED FAVOR. This means no works will save you. You can’t buy a gift. Gifts are free. I don’t know why so many want to try to purchase forgiveness instead of just being happy that they don’t have to. It cannot be earned. It is always freely given. Even when you tell someone you forgive them for what they did wrong to you, you gave it freely. If you didn’t give it freely, you really didn’t forgive them. You are harboring unforgiveness toward them.
That Pharisee in Luke 18 boasted on himself instead of Christ Jesus.
Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
      Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
      Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Good works is what all Christians should do AFTER they have come to know Christ Jesus personally if they have been truly born again but not to be saved by them but out of love for Jesus and for loving thy neighbor as thyself. Any other gospel is another gospel, a corrupted gospel, a false gospel and as Paul taught if someone comes to you with any other gospel, let him be anathema (accursed).
You are welcome to a Microsoft Word document of this entire teaching just for the asking---FREE OF CHARGE. It’s a gift. There is much more I can say here but I will keep it short.
The Sacred Cowtipper is a teaching ministry to help others understand God’s Word more clearly and to hopefully bring people to God’s grace and faith in Christ and a personal relationship with the Lord through the Holy Spirit. If you would like to donate to this ministry, it is much appreciated. God Bless!
