I was watching the video with headphones while downloading and had volume to 80, when you said "hold your ears" and was like: "what? why?". I don't think I will be able to hear ever again. Very informative and entertaining video, really helped me out, keep it up!

I had a trouble with Darth after the last empire update when it changed to definitive edition, darth stopped working. Now with this guide I redownloaded it and it works perfect even my saved campaign worked. Thank you

Hey man. Thanks for the info. But I have a problem after I had the mod. And try to launch it on steam. There's no darthmod logo and it doesn't open at all.. it bring me back on steam. I try to reboot my pc and reinstall also redownload everything but the result it's still same. Hope u can help me out. I try to put auto on and off and also put dme ready and vanilla as well.. but still only allowed me to open just vanilla
hey whats up! I am having a problem and it is that at no time I get "insert the second disk" simply part 1 is installed completely and then (obviously) it does not start the mod skipping an error. this is happening multiple times and I dont know why exactly :(
There are times you will not get the second disk prompt if the "second disk" has the name that is being looked for. In my example, the names were different, so I had to make the adjustment. It's not always necessary. If you still can't get the mod running, let me know. I'm not an amazing troubleshooter, but sometimes I get lucky.

Every now and then, even in my current playthrough, the game doesn't load. 9 times out of ten I just need to reboot my computer and everything starts working again. Often times some minor item in windows, or some other program has updated and throws things temporarily out of wack. Usually the simple reboot takes care of that. I would try that first.
@@bhugh215 Glad to hear it's working now. Enjoy the mod. It's a touchy mod, and now you know the most basic way to keep it good when minor issues might occur. Rebooting is your friend. :-)
HELP ITS PLAYING FUNERAL MUSIC REALLY LOUD. i clicked the start button and it started blasting music and wont stop despite audio being turned off. how do i fix this?
LoL I hope you have recovered from the shock. Are your ears still ringing? I think I mentioned something about it in the video, but I’m sure I didn’t make a big enough deal about it. Hopefully your comment will save someone else the experience.
The launcher music keeps playing? That's weird. DM also has it's own in-game soundtrack. Is that what you're talking about? You can control that with the in-game volume controls.
Installer didn't work for me. It says "the operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer" even though I give the admin permission. Compatibility modes don't help.
You have gotten me the furthest but now a new problem arises. When I get into the launcher I have gear symbols instead of start. And when I try to start the game, it gets into the empire total war loading screen and immediately exits out. Rebooting the computer doesn't work, and I do keep the launcher open.
Thanks for the view and comment. Unfortunately I have not seen nor heard about gear symbols replacing the start button. Not sure what would cause that. I had a little time to google around, but have yet to find anything helpful on that issue.
I still haven't found the solution for your specific "Gear" problem on the launcher. Found another page posted by Darth that I hadn't seen before. Don't know if any of the solutions would work, but looking through the suggestions may ring a bell for you guys on something you may have overlooked. So you followed this path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War? You could have it on a different disc than C on your computer, but following this path and you don't find it?
If you're talking about the um...slightly loud...launcher music, you should just go to the settings tab on the launcher, then launcher audio and turn it off.
Did you rename it to what your PC was looking for? Not the specific rename that I used in my example? (Sorry for the slow reply, the holidays sort of got in the way for me)

I have one issue, I have the launcher and it works fine, however whenever I launch it from the darthmod launcher it crashes after the first loading screen, and whenever I launch it from the empire screen, it shows the darthmod intro and such but sends me into vanilla Empire. help?
Yeah, not using the launcher will often just get you into vanilla. I've had the game not load properly with the launcher, every now and then. Usually I just need to reboot my PC to get things flowing again. If that simple fix doesn't work, we'll have to dig into it a little further.
@@zigzagzoghistorical I tried rebooting my PC and trying both the game launcher they give you and the steam launcher, however, I have the same problem. I tried deleting then redownloading it but I'm running into the same problem. An inconsistency with my downloads however is that whenever I download the part 1 download it is not an exe file. @@zigzagzoghistorical I wasn't, however it seemed I fixed my issue in a very odd way. When I redownloaded and opened the launcher then closed out of it, I told it to make my empire steam launcher VAN ready rather than DME ready. I hopped onto the game, left, changed it back to DME ready and somehow it worked... really weird but now darthmod is working fine! Thank you!
having a problem where the game loads up fine, i can start a campaign but from what i can tell ive only got vanilla ai and units? anyone seen this before?
I'm using windows 10 trying to install Darthmod. I've followed your fairly close. Everytime I click on part 1 the install screen flashes and crashes to the desktop. No error message
If the second disc is labeled properly, it won't stop to ask for it, it will just continue the install. I purposely made them not match for my video, because it throws people when it DOES happen. I should have been more clear that it might NOT ask for the second disc if it's labeled properly when extracted. Glad it's working for you!
Please help me bro! I know the video is correct. I had Darthmod for a couple years, wipes my laptop and did a fresh install of Empire and the Empire Total War II mod. Didn’t like it, wiped all Empire stuff from the computer, reinstalled Empire. Now tried like three different videos to reinstall Darthmod and I crash after I see the initial Darthmod screen every time.
When I get to the disk 2 part, I encountered the issue of the file being the wrong name. However, when I change the name to what it is looking for as you did, it still could not find the file and it says "Setup can not open the following archive file" do you know why this may be?
Did you play the base Empire before installing Darthmod? It is a good practice to make sure the base game operates 100% before installation. Also, sometimes a simple computer reboot overcomes this issue. (But not always) Thanks for checking out the video and sorry for the slow response.
I have all the downloaded files were they are supposed to be, however when I click the start button it keep saying that the computer can not find the file E:Lir/steamapps/common/empire total war/data/DME/packs/msc_on. Please help thank you
Sounds like a missing file somewhere. Not sure why that would be. Maybe try redownloading to see if that might help. I'm not super sure on this error. Sorry. Didn't find anything helpful on a quick google search either. :-(
I accidently closed the launcher and then it wont work again I also re-installed so it can be fixed but it just gives me empire total war is not responding
Did you have the launcher working at all? Did you get into the Darthmod version of the game? Or did you just have the launcher open and now can not open it again without accessing the game? Sorry for the delayed response.
I know it's been a year, but DME just won't let me find disk 2. Like, it doesn't appear in the screen to select Disk 2 (DME Part 2) to play the game right, any help?
thanks for the great vid! for some reason i'm still having issues at the disk part. i've extracted it and put it into its own file, but once i try to use the directory that darthmod brings up, the extracted file doesn't show up. thanks again!
@@jaydendonofrio2487 The Rights Of Man isn’t a bad mod. If you want more focus with your mod, Imperial Splendor is one I like if planning to play as France or Great Britain. And if you don’t mind focusing just on the American Revolution, The American Revolution mod does a pretty good job there.
Thanks for watching the video and congrats on downloading the mod. So it sounds like you are manually launching from steam. Make sure your Darthmod launcher is open and set for Darthmod ready. When you are launching from steam you must also keep the Darthmod launcher open. If I still have problems, the first thing I do is reboot my computer. It's always the first thing I try and you'd be amazed at how often this helps. This is often all I have to do after a windows or driver update that throws things off. Did you play Empire before downloading the mod? Sometimes you must open the game in vanilla first (for some reason) then reset the Darthmod launcher to DM ready (sometimes when running on vanilla, the Darthmod settings reset to default, so if you want any custom settings you will have to reset those again) and try launching on Steam again with the DM launcher open and set to DM. If these more simple solutions don't help, try the following link (it's a lot to dig through, but there is some great troubleshooting ideas there). www.twcenter.net/forums/archive/index.php/f-1646-p-5.html
I can't guarantee any results for crack versions. I can't recommend these versions, but I also am not going to judge you if that what you have. I don't know your personal situation. But I do appreciate your view of this video. My video is designed for those using the Steam version of the game. And the Darthmod launcher is designed to work with Steam. I imagine you'd have to find and alternate way to launch.
Can I run on some way with pirate version I have downloaded etw 1.5 with Darth mod(pirat of course) and etw work fine I have few new units per nations but launcher for Darth make me prob with error
I cannot launch Empire unless I delete the "preferences.empire_script". However once I click launch on the Darthmod launcher it brings it back which doesn't let me launch the game with the mod. Anyone got a fix?
The auto launcher does not always work for everyone. So just keep it off and load manually from steam with while keeping the launcher open. Now if a save doesn't open, my first suggestion is to just reboot the PC. It's weird, but sometimes that simple move fixes things. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Can someone help me, so i installed darthmod but when i run it and go to custom battles the unit sizes are the vanilla ones and there are no new units, but darthmod background and intro is functioning so it means that my Empire is on Darthmod mode.
I've not heard of this issue, but then I am usually playing campaigns, not custom. Tried some searches, but I have limited time to search in too much detail. Hopefully someone else out there has some knowledge for custom battle issues.

Glad to hear you figured it out. Thanks for the reply. It may help someone else out. It's very easy to close the Darthmod launcher, instead of keeping it open. As you found out, the mod won't work properly without the launcher open.
I have tried installing this mod several times and have had no luck with it working. I fully have uninstalled empire and the mod and re downloaded them followed your steps to a T. I launch empire vanilla first play 2 turns works fine, then try Darthmod and it crashes at loading screen. Set at 4 TPY, English, etc.. I have shutdown and restarted my PC. Wondering if you have any advice. TIA.
If you try the 40 unit save version, it only works on 2TPY. But other versions should be fine with 4TPY. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Sounds like you are doing things properly.
I have downloaded the mod and have the thing unzipped think is undone, but I go to start up the mod and hit start, then open the game normally like I usually start it in vanilla, and opens the normal screen then crashes

You then installed the files. yes? You then opened the Darthmod launcher and messed with any settings you desired. yes? Then, keeping the launcher open, you went to steam to start Empire. yes? and while opening, it crashes? I just want to verify, and make sure we are on the same page here.

I know this will be late but i cant get it to work, tried installing it 12 times, redownloading all parts, removing any traces of mods or game before installing again. but everything i open the darthmod launcher it press play, it says its ready to be launched manually, i launch it manually and i see the darthmod logo only for the game to shutdown and send me back to steam

Heyy bro I saved my game in Drive F\Anand. I'm entering into the game through auto start but I receiving one pop-up which is "Windows cannot find 'f:\Anand\Empire.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try" What should I do???
Auto start will only work through Steam. Make sure your Steam account also has the correct path to the game. If you don't play through Steam, you would have to find a way to manually launch the game with the launcher open and DM ready.
I install the steam application. But in your video you already have Empire Total war folders and files in steamapps --- > common folder How it's possible without installing the game and you have folder in steam!!!!

On your Darthmod launcher, do you have auto launcher turned on or off under settings? If off, you should be going to start Empire manually from steam. Hope I'm understanding your issue properly.

When you look for a multiplayer experience under the multiplayer tab, you must make sure the exact same mods are installed. No more, no less. Most people I see show up in the multiplayer tab usually only have the base game. Hope that helps. Sorry for the delayed response and thanks for watching!
No text usually has to do with a language conflict. Since I play in English only, I have not had this problem and I'm not sure of the fix. I know I've read about this problem in the past, just can't remember the fix. I tried Googling for a Darthmod Empire language conflict, but so far haven't found the answer.
Might of found a way to fix that homie idk about you but I went into user script on the launcher and just deleted all of them there as a last screw it then laughed it no crash back to steam on start up it works now the user script can be found on the edit
So you are trying to play the 40 unit save version? And you are not getting 40 units allowed, only 20? Did you load the game from the 40 unit save version of the faction you chose? Is this the problem you are talking about?

mh.. try to reinstall the mod maybe there is a problem with the files, sometimes when you download from internet you can have some corrupted files.

Make sure you already installed *8.0* version before installing the 8.0.1 because that causes the bug.

There is a setting in the launcher that will turn off the launcher music. I also have mine turned off because it startles me every friggin time. LoL

I installed the DM mod but the units did very little damage . Was that because they were newly recruited ?

I still haven't found the solution for your specific "Gear" problem on the launcher. Found another page posted by Darth that I hadn't seen before. Hi I cannot find the folder of Empires inside the steam apps. but I proceed on installing anyway and so I am having problem with running the game.
So you followed this path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Empire Total War? You could have it on a different disc than C on your computer, but following this path and you don't find it?

If you're talking about the um...slightly loud...launcher music, you should just go to the settings tab on the launcher, then launcher audio and turn it off.

I have one issue, I have the launcher and it works fine, however whenever I launch it from the darthmod launcher it crashes after the first loading screen, and whenever I launch it from the empire screen, it shows the darthmod intro and such but sends me into vanilla Empire. help?
Yeah, not using the launcher will often just get you into vanilla. I've had the game not load properly with the launcher, every now and then. Usually I just need to reboot my PC to get things flowing again. If that simple fix doesn't work, we'll have to dig into it a little further.
@@zigzagzoghistorical I tried rebooting my PC and trying both the game launcher they give you and the steam launcher, however, I have the same problem. I tried deleting then redownloading it but I'm running into the same problem. An inconsistency with my downloads however is that whenever I download the part 1 download it is not an exe file. So when you download and then unzip the file you are not getting this file: DarthMod_Empire_v8.0_Platinum.exe?
@@zigzagzoghistorical I wasn't, however it seemed I fixed my issue in a very odd way. When I redownloaded and opened the launcher then closed out of it, I told it to make my empire steam launcher VAN ready rather than DME ready. I hopped onto the game, left, changed it back to DME ready and somehow it worked... really weird but now darthmod is working fine! Thank you!

I'm using windows 10 trying to install Darthmod. I've followed your fairly close. Everytime I click on part 1 the install screen flashes and crashes to the desktop. No error message

When i install it doesn’t ask me for the second disk, still works though its weird.
If the second disc is labeled properly, it won't stop to ask for it, it will just continue the install. I purposely made them not match for my video, because it throws people when it DOES happen. I should have been more clear that it might NOT ask for the second disc if it's labeled properly when extracted. Glad it's working for you!
Please help me bro! I know the video is correct. I had Darthmod for a couple years, wipes my laptop and did a fresh install of Empire and the Empire Total War II mod. Didn’t like it, wiped all Empire stuff from the computer, reinstalled Empire. Now tried like three different videos to reinstall Darthmod and I crash after I see the initial Darthmod screen every time.

When I get to the disk 2 part, I encountered the issue of the file being the wrong name. However, when I change the name to what it is looking for as you did, it still could not find the file and it says "Setup can not open the following archive file" do you know why this may be?

Did you play the base Empire before installing Darthmod? It is a good practice to make sure the base game operates 100% before installation. Also, sometimes a simple computer reboot overcomes this issue. (But not always)

Sounds like a missing file somewhere. Not sure why that would be. Maybe try redownloading to see if that might help. I'm not super sure on this error. Sorry. Didn't find anything helpful on a quick google search either. :-(

Did you have the launcher working at all? Did you get into the Darthmod version of the game? Or did you just have the launcher open and now can not open it again without accessing the game? Sorry for the delayed response.

You need to unzip the zip file. It's inside there. It's so stupid, but thats what you gotta do.

thanks for the great vid! for some reason i'm still having issues at the disk part. i've extracted it and put it into its own file, but once i try to use the directory that darthmod brings up, the extracted file doesn't show up. thanks again!

@@jaydendonofrio2487 The Rights Of Man isn’t a bad mod. If you want more focus with your mod, Imperial Splendor is one I like if planning to play as France or Great Britain. And if you don’t mind focusing just on the American Revolution, The American Revolution mod does a pretty good job there.

Don't know why it won't download for you. Hard drive space ok? Internet connection ok? Beyond that, not sure why it won't download.

Thanks for watching the video and congrats on downloading the mod. So it sounds like you are manually launching from steam. Make sure your Darthmod launcher is open and set for Darthmod ready. When you are launching from steam you must also keep the Darthmod launcher open. If I still have problems, the first thing I do is reboot my computer. It's always the first thing I try and you'd be amazed at how often this helps. This is often all I have to do after a windows or driver update that throws things off. Did you play Empire before downloading the mod? Sometimes you must open the game in vanilla first (for some reason) then reset the Darthmod launcher to DM ready (sometimes when running on vanilla, the Darthmod settings reset to default, so if you want any custom settings you will have to reset those again) and try launching on Steam again with the DM launcher open and set to DM. If these more simple solutions don't help, try the following link (it's a lot to dig through, but there is some great troubleshooting ideas there). www.twcenter.net/forums/archive/index.php/f-1646-p-5.html

I can't guarantee any results for crack versions. I can't recommend these versions, but I also am not going to judge you if that what you have. I don't know your personal situation. But I do appreciate your view of this video.
My video is designed for those using the Steam version of the game. And the Darthmod launcher is designed to work with Steam. I imagine you'd have to find and alternate way to launch.

I cannot launch Empire unless I delete the "preferences.empire_script". However once I click launch on the Darthmod launcher it brings it back which doesn't let me launch the game with the mod. Anyone got a fix?

Apparently. You need to start from Steam rather than the mod.
The auto launcher does not always work for everyone. So just keep it off and load manually from steam with while keeping the launcher open. Now if a save doesn't open, my first suggestion is to just reboot the PC. It's weird, but sometimes that simple move fixes things. Let me know if that doesn't work.

Can someone help me, so i installed darthmod but when i run it and go to custom battles the unit sizes are the vanilla ones and there are no new units, but darthmod background and intro is functioning so it means that my Empire is on Darthmod mode.
I've not heard of this issue, but then I am usually playing campaigns, not custom. Tried some searches, but I have limited time to search in too much detail. Hopefully someone else out there has some knowledge for custom battle issues.

Glad to hear you figured it out. Thanks for the reply. It may help someone else out. It's very easy to close the Darthmod launcher, instead of keeping it open. As you found out, the mod won't work properly without the launcher open.
I have tried installing this mod several times and have had no luck with it working. I fully have uninstalled empire and the mod and re downloaded them followed your steps to a T. I launch empire vanilla first play 2 turns works fine, then try Darthmod and it crashes at loading screen. Set at 4 TPY, English, etc.. I have shutdown and restarted my PC. Wondering if you have any advice. TIA.
If you try the 40 unit save version, it only works on 2TPY. But other versions should be fine with 4TPY. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Sounds like you are doing things properly.

For some reason my game is stuck on low and medium even though i already fixed the vanilla version
I have downloaded the mod and have the thing unzipped think is undone, but I go to start up the mod and hit start, then open the game normally like I usually start it in vanilla, and opens the normal screen then crashes

You then installed the files. yes? You then opened the Darthmod launcher and messed with any settings you desired. yes? Then, keeping the launcher open, you went to steam to start Empire. yes? and while opening, it crashes?
I just want to verify, and make sure we are on the same page here.

I know this will be late but i cant get it to work, tried installing it 12 times, redownloading all parts, removing any traces of mods or game before installing again. but everything i open the darthmod launcher it press play, it says its ready to be launched manually, i launch it manually and i see the darthmod logo only for the game to shutdown and send me back to steam

Heyy bro I saved my game in Drive F\Anand. I'm entering into the game through auto start but I receiving one pop-up which is
"Windows cannot find 'f:\Anand\Empire.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try"

Auto start will only work through Steam. Make sure your Steam account also has the correct path to the game. If you don't play through Steam, you would have to find a way to manually launch the game with the launcher open and DM ready.
I install the steam application. But in your video you already have Empire Total war folders and files in steamapps --- > common folder
How it's possible without installing the game and you have folder in steam!!!!
Once you install the game via steam, the folders should automatically appear with the installation of Empire.

On your Darthmod launcher, do you have auto launcher turned on or off under settings? If off, you should be going to start Empire manually from steam. Hope I'm understanding your issue properly.

How to play multiplayer campaign in Empire TW pls?
When you look for a multiplayer experience under the multiplayer tab, you must make sure the exact same mods are installed. No more, no less. Most people I see show up in the multiplayer tab usually only have the base game. Hope that helps. Sorry for the delayed response and thanks for watching!

No text usually has to do with a language conflict. Since I play in English only, I have not had this problem and I'm not sure of the fix. I know I've read about this problem in the past, just can't remember the fix. I tried Googling for a Darthmod Empire language conflict, but so far haven't found the answer.

Might of found a way to fix that homie idk about you but I went into user script on the launcher and just deleted all of them there as a last screw it then laughed it no crash back to steam on start up it works now the user script can be found on the edit
