"Epica" comes from one of Kamelot's earlier albums of the same name from 2003. Kamelot are an amazing band with a ton of cool features from super well known artists, overall very influential within the genre. They underwent a fairly controversial vocalist change back in 2012 but the new singer, Tommy, has been getting better and better, though admittedly a lot of fans still miss the "glory days" when Roy Khan was there. The official live video for "Sacrimony" with Alissa (from Arch Enemy) and Elize Ryd (from Amaranthe) would be a good one for their newer style, and then anything from One Cold Winter's Night (live) for Roy's era.
The European symphonic metal bands are all interconnected in insane ways, Kamelot was on tour with Nightwish when Floor flew in to replace Anette and Alissa/Elize who sang for Nightwish at the infamous Denver concert were on the tour accompanying Kamelot. There's a fun fancam of Tommy/Alissa/Elize coming out on stage with the final Last Ride of the Day on the Imaginaerum tour to sing with Floor and Marco
Roy Khan is Kamelot's original singer. He is Thai and Norwegian. He has such an amazing voice. One of my favorite male singers. He was replaced by Tommy Karevik who is also an amazing singer. I prefer Roy but Tommy is an appropriate replacement.

You should check out Kamelot - Memento Mori when you get a chance. It's the first song that got me hooked on the band, from their 2005 album The Black Halo. It really demonstrates Roy's vocal range and versatility, and has a lot of progressive elements and transitions. A banger and a ballad both. Amazing lyrics too. 👍🏻 Fun fact: Roy Khan (shortened from Khantatat) studied opera for three years after high school. I just found that out, but it really explains the theatrical quality and technique in his voice. Beast of a singer. Crazy talented band as well. You're gonna really dig their stuff. 🤘🏻 Extra tidbit: Roy's resumed a progressive metal project named Conception that I have yet to check out. Bout to do that rrright now. lol

Great song. They made two conceptual albums telling a story inspired by Faust and this is the part where he is tempted by a woman who looks exactly like the women he loves. I love this band, I would recommend some old tracks like Glory, Sailorman's Hymn or Don't You Cry. I would also recommend some other bands like Sonata Arctica, they are from Finland, like Nightwish, and his singer is a close friend with Tuomas, they have really dark and powerfull songs. Stratovarius, Rhapsody of Fire and you have to listen to Dream Theater. They are nothing like all this bands you been reacting to but I'm sure you will like them. Thanks for this reaction.

Tampa, Florida, is often connected with metal, because of the Morrisound Studios. Kamelot recorded there, but also Savatage, Sepultura Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Iced Earth and many more.
Roy had to leave because he was burnt out physically and emotionally but he does have Conception. Tommy Karivek is now the lead singer you saw him in the Ayreon video Tommy was at the beginning. Tommy is theatrical and his voice is amazing.
There's a live version of this floating around with their new vocalist featuring Floor, as well, which I almost as good as the original, haha. Otherwise, I'll just repeat what everyone else has said - Liar Liar, Sacrimony, March of Mephisto, Under Grey Skies - they collab A LOT.

I never really listened to Kamelot either, but this song I've heard once or twice because I'm a huge Epica fan. It's a bit too slow for power metal in my opinion but otherwise it's fine.
I wasn't sure. Charlotte Wessels is great but she changes her hair color and style so often it's sometimes difficult for me to tell since I don't see her that often. I think she was blonde in the last video I saw. At least with Simone that hair is distinctive... LOL
