Nice job, but at 5:50 use that switch only when the motor turning

Festool USA have done an episode on the Domino as well - no 1.
Their advice differs from this in at least two respects:
    1. Sedge disconnects the power before putting his hand near the cutters and doing other adjustments
    2. He also says to adjust the width of the hole with the motor on not off.
    So who's correct?

This is an excellent video, but my Canadian 2017 D500 strictly says to only change cutting widths while the machine is running, and to only make fence adjustments when unplugged.
One thing that would make this video even better than it already is would be if Gordon spoke a little more about domino size choice.
But still , this is more great material from Festool

Sedge is correct on both counts: first safety, and second, the owner’s manual specifically says to adjust the width only with the machine running.

Thanks very helpful I just bought one. Question, I noticed you turn the knob that adjust the width of the cut when the machine was off. I thought the machine had to be running when you did that?

I recently bought one and yes the instructions do say that specifically. Hopefully he’ll respond or make a response to our comments to clarify so people aren’t damaging their Domino machines.

I thought you weren't supposed to change the width of the hole unless the machine is running. Kind of weird to see a Festool employee doing this incorrectly.

I was wondering that same thing. The manual and most all the official company-sponsored training videos make a point to say to change the width setting only when the machine still is running. I've never heard anyone explain what happens if the width is changed while the machine is not running. I suppose it's possible that "running" might include where the main shaft is still briefly turning right after the power is turned off. Perhaps Gordon will (if he has not already done so) clarify that in subsequent video.

Well here's a good example of me not "RTFMing" (Read the f manual) I was on a tight deadline a couple years ago, decided I was ready for a Festool Domino, bought it and jumped right into using it. I use it on nearly every project, so a couple times a week - for about 3 years. Not once have I changed that width setting while the machine is running! And guess what folks, it works perfectly well. Furthermore, I was working quickly the other day and was about to switch the setting while the machine was running and thought I had better not... I just imagined gears grinding etc. I thought, calm down to a panic, wait for the machine to stop before changing settings so that I don't break something.
So imagine my surprise now to learn that I'm actually supposed to be switching that width setting while the machine is running!
Therefore, I probably will try to remember to change it while it's running, but I can also confirm that if you do change it while the machine is off, you and the machine will probably survive.

+1, how the gap is calculated? if I set space between next Domino dowel 32 mm this size will be from left edge of the mortise to the next left edge? or this will be the gap between the holes, I mean from right edge to left edge?

I can not make those stops work for me whatsoever. Nothing ever lines up with the corresponding piece.
Not even the ends based on the tabs line up😂🤬

I like Sedge's videos, but I do enjoy Gordon's as well. I think he did a fine job showing a different style and approach.
