FIRE Stellantis CEO, Carlos Tavares !!! NOW !!! Tavares made $39 million in 2023 !!! Why? CEOs are to be rewarded when companies are making profits, not going bankrupt !!! Firing working and buying back stocks isn't growth. It's fake !!! The stock market is not an indicator of the economy. The stock market reflects shareholder profits. Workers be damned. Carlos Tavares drove Stellantis into the ground. While Japan is making Kei cars for $10,000 and Stellantis sells Jeeps at $80,000, it's abhorrent. The oligarchy is destroying the world economy for their own greedy profit at the expense of lives.

The Chinese bought the GE brand of appliances a few years ago. They have brought that brand back from the dead. I manage apartments and find the GE brand of refrigerators and window A/C best in class. I wish whatever Chinese company well in the car market. What I see wrong with Stellantis as well as many companies is they are run by hedge fund managers that are not in the business of making good cars or products but in making as much profit as they can while lining their pockets. In other words "Corporate Greed" is killing off legacy companies.

But It's also to be expected when these companies try to run ANYTHING. If a hedge fund is running something -- you best believe it is going to be bean counted into the ground. Realistically, if you exclude regulatory credits, Stellantis did better in their latest financial reporting than Tesla. Tesla's net profit for the quarter when excluding regulatory credits was down over 75% YoY. Most of Tesla's net income last quarter was regulatory credits. As Tesla sales are down, they likely pulled some of those credit sales forward to inflate quarterly numbers. Subsidies made them profitable, and Tesla is far more vulnerable to political shifts than Stellantis. Neither one is growing, but Stelantis has a forward P/E ratio of around 3, while Tesla is around 100. In other words, for the each dollar of profit they make this year, you have to pay ~33 times more for Tesla shares.

@@manu.yt25 It is all too bloody late. The Chinese understood way back in the 2000s that EVs will replace petrol cars and have been developing EVs ever since. This explains why apart from Tesla the Chinese EVs are the world’s leading EVs with their superior performance, features as value.
There is no way that the Japanese, European and American legacy car marques can ever catch up as the Chinese have been hard at work for the past 20 years. Moreover, the legacy auto is obviously legally committed to existing petrol car owners for essentially forever, which is massive drag on company finances, resources and energy. The Chinese car marques do not have these lingering encumbrances, especially for those who only make EVs.
In Japan, Mazda and Nissan will be the first to fail. Dodge and Chrysler in the United States are on the way out as well as no one wants their large and inefficient petrol guzzling cars.

@@user-kc1tf7zm3b We will see but Stellantis at least the PSA side is much better placed than manufacturers like Toyota or others, they are still some of the best sellers of EVs in Europe (e208/eCorsa, then coming soon eC3/Panda, thay also have the 500e, 600, Jeep Avenger, e308, e3008, etc....). So far the e208 alone is one of the most sold car in Europe despite not having a dedicated platform for EV. I'm curious to see how their new affordable small cars (eC3/Panda) will do as they will be the cheapest option on the European market along the old and shabby Dacia Spring. For me he's a bit too alarmist about Stellantis, as long as Tesla is not building smaller cars in Europe and while the Chinese are not manufacturing in Europe yet and Chinese imports are being made difficult by tariffs, I don't see an immediate threat for Stellantis, and the eC3 and Panda laucnhing this year shows that they are ready to make mass market affordable EVs.... so yeah let's see how it will go from there, I'm pretty sure that Stellantis has more to offer and will unveil more appealing EVs in a near future.

      Lie..
Dodge was with Chrysler since 1926 or 1928 as the Dodge Brothers passed away..Dodge was always Chrysler..
Chrysler bought Jeep in 1988 and made huge profits on Dodge and Jeep and Chrysler!
Only reason Dodge wasnt making profits as much in 2024 they only have the Durango and Hornet..Dodge made huge profits on Caravans,Journey,Charger and Challenger but they quit them all...
Dodge also produced 2023 models until midnight Dec 31 2023 so they could have enough prtoduct for 2024,albeit dealers scammed people by adding $20,000 on a RT and $200,000 for a Hellcat last call..Yes,Demons were $300k thats $200k more than the sticker..Even a $80,000 hellcat dealers want $150,000! Thus you can understand sales dropped,,,Now,a lot of dealers are selling the cars at or even below msrp..I bought a 717 hp Hellcat Challenger for $68,000 thats $3k under msrp..Love the car!
Dodge also had RAM and they always made a profit, Chrysler was the most profitable car company in the 80's and 90's until Eaton screwed Chrysler shareholders and forced a merger..Even in the 00's and 10's Chrysler group was the cash cow they always made a profit..
Today Chrysler is the best selling minivan they just need more products same with Dodge the Challenger even out sold the Mustang and the Charger left the Mustang in the dust in sales, doubling and nearly tripling their sales some years!
The problem is the 2023 Last Call models Dodge dealers are asking double for the cars, thus sales slowed to a crawl...Started in 2022 prices sky rocketed RAM trucks also jumped in price $50,000 for a plain stripper model and $80,000 on average for a decent model.Jeep still sells good, but they dropped the Cherokee and the sales numbers they are down is exactly what the good selling Cherokee were doing.Remember RAM also stopped production of the Classic 1500 thats 50% of sales they were doing!! Lots of people prefered that truck, nice truck, better price and V8.
It is bad management at Stellantis, too many cooks in the kitchen deal and infighting screwed them over!
RAM 1500 now with only a 6 cyl no V8 will hurt sales and Dodge Charger whenever it comes out again no V8 only electric anbd 6 cyl sales wont be as good as the previous Charger..But I could be wrong, but they need product NOW

Surely the future for Stellantis is as a contract manufacturer for the Chinese along the lines of Magna Steyr. The Chinese can use Stellantis brands as labels for their own developed models and avoid the tariffs that are going to be levied on their exports to Europe. They may cost more to make than in China but if the EU and US are going to move to more protectionism this would mean the Chinese would still benefit from amortising development costs over a larger number of vehicles without the cost of setting up overseas operations. There is already over capacity in more mature markets so even more efficient new entrants are going to struggle to see a return on their investment. This would also overcome the anti Chinese sentiment in many markets and preserve most jobs - or at least allow for a more managed decline of the traditional manufacturers. Politicians would be happier with such a strategy as this would be more palatable than a manufacturer selling out and giving full control to Chinese ownership. the auto industry. As legacy manufacturers and individual plants have to start competing with each other for assembly contracts prices will start falling in real terms. The assemblers will also not be taking as much risk and could actually perhaps take the Chinese platforms to develop their own more niche or premium vehicles. In some ways this would be a reversal of the situation that has developed since VW and GM first ventured into China in the 1980s.

Stellantis backed out of building a 2 billion dollar battery plant here which shows that it is not going to persue seriously making EVs in North America.

I highly doubt the French government will let them sell off Citroen and Peugeot to Chinese firms. Too much French pride in them, and rightfully so. Citroen has a humongous legacy!

BYD might come and restore Chrysler Corporation back to Chrysler Corporation and hand them the tools needed.

This is not going to happen. The legacy American auto companies are totally structured and focussed on petrol cars.

Ignoring customer feedback and lack of meaningful investments in products people want, at prices their willing to pay. Leads to closing factories, selling off your struggling brands. Carlos is an ineffective leader.

I guess it should sell Italian brand to DR Automobiles. Better than sell Italian brand to Chinese company directly.

Coming out with new gasoline cars isn’t gonna work that’s the long in the short of it. I think people are tired of going in and spending $200-$1000 to change the oil and listen to somebody hustle them about something that might be wrong with their car, build a good electric car and your problems will go away

I can't see any benefit to the bigger Chinese manufacturers buying the DS brand. It's never really created any individual value. It might work for a smaller manufacturer looking for a foot in the door.

american should allow chinese car battery imported to facilitate their ev industry competition.
and keeps 100% tariffs(i am not agree) on chinese ev car.

Stellantis business model was to purchase brands and then remove from the market place. But got the story wrong its not Stellantis threatening its the Italian government because the Italian government own the rights to names of many of the FCA products. Now due to where car are made Italy is saying if they are not made in Italy then the name will be sold to chinese.
As for the American brand they where given a set time to turn things around and produce new models they failed.
Don't forget stellantis parent compony is still peugeot steel , parts and kitchen ware. Peugeot societies are is the top if tree.
They will end brands and close factories to protect core french company don't forget chrysler dodge this is a second time for Peugeot.
