  • Byron Allen hit it big in show business. Then he decided he wanted more. Once a star comedian and a joke writer, Allen gave it up more than 25 years ago when he launched Entertainment Studios Inc. Today, the production company counts seven TV networks to its name. On top of that, Allen made waves this year when he acquired the Weather Channel for $300 million. He's here to talk about how he turned his talent into an enterprise. Plus, he'll help us make sense of an entertainment industry in flux.

    Bravo for speaking your truth without allowing anyone to cut you off. Its rude not to allow someone to finish their thought.

    Andy tried to frame the conversation with irrelevant talking points like with questions about politics to no avail. Byron didn't allow Andy to control the narrative. Bryon is a brilliant man!

    I love the way Byron Allen controlled the interview. Andy Serwer attempted to cut him off several times and he did not allow it. Once again, a black man in power speaking the truth.

      More than cut him off, he wanted him to talk politics too

      @Burninmyleather watch this guys interview with Warren Buffett. He did not attempt to interrupt him one time. Racism is real white people and undermining black people is a common thing that white people have learned to do over generations.

    • @kavistone6951
      @kavistone6951 4 роки тому

      @Burninmyleather When will you blinded idiots realize It's Real! Because it's not you experiencing it, you tell people it doesn't exist. "It's not working" We don't need anything to work with people who are obviously self centered, and bias. It's not his style. He waited patiently while Warren Buffett, continued spilling dribble, without interruption. Trust me, I've experienced this in business with white people. It's subconscious behaviour passed down from generations, that say that the black man should be subservient, regardless his accomplishments. That is what Byron is talking about, how he is being treated by other white businessmen, it's real.

      Burninnyleather....everyone in my comment came with respect but you are choosing to tell someone to shutup because you dont agree. How about you get off my comment.

    • @kavistone6951
      @kavistone6951 4 роки тому

      @Burninmyleather Guy, racism is real. I don't know about your accomplishments or what you do. Here this man telling you that he is basically being boxed out of opportunities as a black business man. While Comcast is spending 70 billion a year in marketing dollars. Little to nothing is being spent with black owned business. They didn't even want to do business with him! With a all white male board! You dont realize what I'm saying. When white people are the top gatekeepers of all the opportunities, and black people have to always go through them to do anything worth wild, you don't realize black people is tired of this. That is not equality. No disrespect to white people, black people just want their own, and not giving the African American slaves anything after slavery, sealed black people's fate as 2nd class citizens. As well as integration, with no possible way to compete with white resources. You haven't been in this position for 400 years so you don't understand the problem.

      All white people are uncomfortable when race is the topic but kudos for having the conversation. Being uncomfortable is not a bad thing, avoiding people of color to avoid uncomfortable conversation is the bad thing.

    This man is the most incredible man that I have seen since Martin Luther King ofcourse I am 67 white woman who has worked mostly our entire life and cannot get ahead. I’ve always feel like I’m my wheels are getting stuck and what you said about the poor white people is so true, even though I’m white, and we do have still the upper hand when it comes to low-paying jobs than Black people but I have to say Byron you are an incredible man. And I am going to be with you in spirit every single day and hope you get the courts to change their mind. It is about time that the American people are included in the American Way,. God bless you.
