- Sometimes seashells aren't just found near the waters edge. If you dig a hole further inland on the beach, chances are you might dig right into a nice pocket of shells. Brought my shell hunting buddy Colleen with me on another adventure of seashell hunting. Boy did we find some good ones, including my personal best bonnet shell find!

It’s hard enough for me to not jump in my car and head back down there without y’all adding to the urge showing the fun of hunting for shells. Yes, I’m a shell addict too. Thanks for sharing your fun.
I jumped into my vehicle 6 years ago, drove down here, and never left.
#WILDKYLE Coleen is killing it.
Once I find a spot, she ends up finding all the good shells
I LOVE Scotch Bonnets! I found so, sooo many in Portsmouth, NC!
Recently took someone out last week that was wanting to find one of these as it was on their shell bucket list.. happy to say we crossed that off for them :)
Colleen was fun!
She's one of my favorite human beings
#wildkyle. Looks like so much fun!
It was a fun day. This spot no longer exists and the tide came and swept it away, but sure am glad I found it prior.

Modern kinds of currency are mostly paper notes and coins, but seashells were also used as currency once. Not all types, but a little white cowry shell was the kind that became an important monetary unit in some areas. Its scientific name is the Cypraeamoneta, and it was deemed valuable in East Asia, Africa, and South Asia at a certain point.

There really was a Captain Morgan. He was a Welsh pirate who later became the lieutenant governor of Jamaica.
Woah, That was a lot of shells!
Too many to count!
Great haul,I will have to try that method on Sanibel.I don’t think the sand is that soft there though.Thx for taking us along
So when I get into a pocket of shells the sand is normally very hard..... comparable to concrete, but I do think with what I've seen that there could be a strong chance for a ton of shells if you dig a hole there.

You dont say?
Hi
...new subscriber....luv ur shell hunting ....Curious what u do with all ur shells u find??
Hey there! Thanks for the sub! I generally end up giving my shells away to random folk that walk the beach. I have a video on my channel where I do just that. Although if I deem it big or really special, I will keep it... but I've only kept about 5 shells so far.
The shell u just found that’s never been opened is a kittens paw
Cool! Thanks!
#WOLDKYLE April 1st is my wife’s birthday and it will be a great birthday gift
might wanna edit this one... you were so close.
What is that thing she is digging with? Does it have a name? I'm going next month and hope to find lots of shells!
No idea what the name of the tool she is using.
I would love to do this! #wildkyle
