My wife and I bought a used 2018 Atlas with 130,000km (yeah a lot lol) however I looked over the service records and after test driving it, it drives wonderfully and way better than our 2016 Equinox LTZ with slightly less mileage. We got Volkswagens 5 star warranty for 5 years or 50,000km so im not overly worried about major issues right now anyways. Now talking about the issues you've had with the engine. I was a mechanic for 6 years, those issues are common on I have to assume everything. I've work at Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda and Toyota dealers during that career path and every single one (including my Chevy) have had the same issues. And yeah even Toyota, despite how insanely reliable they are I did see my fair share of drive train issues and headgaskets going on their V6 engines. So I stopped worrying about "whats best, what's not gonna break" and we bought the Atlas after admiring it for a few years. Never thought I'd buy a VW but it has been an amazing change from only driving North American brands and working on Japanese brands. Despite the nasty reviews online, you're always going to find more negative than positive. People are quick to throw out an angry review but not always going to put out a nice review. These massive SUVs are definitely worth looking into
I own a 2018 vw Atlas, SEL AWD. Got it at the end of 2017. Currently has about 38k miles. With 2 kids and moving to a new state at the end of 2020. This thing has been awesome for all our family needs. Especially on road trips, it is the best family vehicle. Never had any issues with the vehicle, ours has been very realiable. Only had recalls, but luckily nothing that affected us directly, just had them attended to when we went in for maintenance checks or oil changes. Only real complain I have with the vehicle is the gas mileage. This thing drinks gas, especially if you do a lot of city driving. It is more tolerable for highway driving from a mpg standpoint.
You’ll love it. We actually just replaced the 2018 with a 2021.5 because the lease was up and they gave us a horrible rate to purchase ours. So I’ll probably make a video on the new one too. Love it just as much if not more!
I have one it’s a 2018, all leather interior I love everything about it. And we are an older couple now so no children no pets . 🥰 I love my 2018 VW ATLAS
I just bought one of these with 96k on the clock - having no experience with AWD systems. The 8 speed has some weird shift points, but it drives pretty well.
Thanks for the review! We’ve owned our 2021.5 R line for a few weeks now and absolutely love it! We needed something to fit our two kids and three adults comfortably with the ability to keep a jogging stroller in the back at all times and the Atlas was perfect. I’ve been very nervous because of all the bad things I’ve heard, but after coming from a 2012 Chevy Equinox... it can’t be worse than that. Plus, we have a 7 year, 100k mile warranty for free through our insurance company that covers pretty much everything that’s not routine maintenance. At that point the vehicle will be paid off completely and if it has had a lot of issues, we’ll just trade it in for something else.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. The thing for me is even looking at Honda and Toyota, they’re not perfect and they have issues as well. I was happy with our 2018 but we just traded up to a 21.5 and love it even more.
@@DJwessling I looked at every other SUV in this class and didn’t like the look of any of them. That was big deal to me! If I’m paying $40k for a vehicle, I better love the way it looks and drives! I originally was stuck on Toyota or Subaru, but the Highlander is (in my opinion) ugly and I don’t like the interior at all. The Ascent was decent, but still not my favorite.. it looked very dated to me. I did look at a Honda Pilot too, but the front seats reminded me of a minivan and I did not like that at all. Plus, you’re right! They all have their issues. I’m just glad to be first owner, knowing it’ll be treated well and maintained properly. I’m not anticipating any major issues we can’t handle.
Hey just out of curiosity, what insurance company covers the 7 year, 100k mile warranty. I ask b/c we are about the pull the trigger on the same one. Thank you.
@@AMan-cr9wq we have full coverage through Geico and they said it’s included with the purchase of a new vehicle! I don’t know if it truly is included, maybe we are paying some hidden fees for it somewhere, but our rate didn’t increase so we were very happy with it.
Good review . I have a 2019 S model with front drive and zero issues ( just a couple of minor recalls , software and a suspension check). I have the 4 cylinder and it's totally adequate. Most people balk at the 4 cylinder but forget that it's essentially detuned GTI motor on it's 3rd generation. They keep finding ways to improve it and the mpg's. I average 27/28 overall and have hit 29/31 on trips.. I've had 5 adults with full luggage on long road trips as well as towing over #2000 and it handles it fine. It's nice having a full size vehicle that isn't a gas hog.
Our second atlas was a 2.0t 4motion and I actually preferred the 4 cyl. As you said, slightly better mpg, the low end torque due to the turbo made it a way more effortless driving experience. I buy and sell cars a lot so I’m on my 3rd atlas now. Also a vr6. Next one will probably be another turbo. Lol.
One issue i have with this vehicle is that the gas tank is tiny and requires frequent fill ups on a road trip. Its gas tank is even smaller than a cars gas tank. It should have been around 24 gallons, 18 gallons is not acceptable.
Valid complaint! I was surprised to find that it actually bugs me how often I need to stop for gas. I wish it was just a little bit bigger... especially since I’m the type who doesn’t like it below 1/4 tank of gas.
This is how they manipulate gas mileage numbers. Less fuel, less weight. But the worst is that start stop crap that many companies are now installing. Just turn that shit off. Toyota canceled the Sequioia, so they can show their overall fuel economy numbers being better.
I agree with this complaint I was surprised when I first started filling mine up like wtf? This takes less gas than my car does lol. With an average of about 20-21 mpg for me and I drive fast so that I’d actually good mpg, I have to fill up often and it gets annoying but on the other side of it it doesn’t cost as much to fill each trip lol
Does driving in sport mode burn more gas? I’ve had my 2023 atlas V 6 all wheel drive for one week now. According to the dashboard calculation , I’m only getting 16 miles per gallon. That’s below the city Mileage it’s supposed to get.
Great review! I have a 2018 SEL. We love it too, though I see you recently went with a 2021.5. We too had the suspension noise that the dealer took care of. No other issues. We’re currently at 32k miles.
we have a 2018 atlas, it's been 6 years with 74k miles on the clock, the only issue we had was the water pump and got fixed under warranty, the main problem for us are the brakes and rotors. the size of the brakes and the rotors are not meant for a car this big and heavy. other than that we've been driving it to all the way to south of FL from NOVA on road trips and other states that at least 16 hours long trips. no problems so far.
Hello, I am wondering if there is any issues running 265/65R18 on the OEM wheels? Many people didn’t recommend me doing it. But I really like the look. *Note I don’t have a lifting kit. 10:28 Thank you!
Should have bought a Toyota. Toyota brakes NEVER WEAR OFF. They defy laws of physics and batteries NEVER EVER degrade when they're in a Toyota. That's what Scotty Kilmer would tell you.
Dude 52k miles and head gaskets, cat, radiator… those are huge red flags for reliability. These kind of issues should not be relevant until 200k+ miles and that would still suck as other drivetrains have been known to not have here issues at all. I love VWs, have had the 2.5l and 2.0 TDI that have been rock solid. but they really need to work out these things with their new drivetrains if they want to be competitive in this market
@@mrrobotobrains it was a manufacturing defect in the early production 2018s that only affected a small batch of vehicles. I believe it was due to head bolts being torqued incorrectly at one of their engine plants that would cause the heads to warp and gasket to start leaking. I had a 2010 VW Touareg with the same exact 3.6 engine that I bought with 40,000 miles and it just recently got totaled at 200k by a girl that ran a red light. Aside from basic maintenance, the only repairs ever needed on that vehicle were a single $35 ignition coil at 120k miles that took literally 45 seconds to change with 0 tools but my hands in the O'Reilly's parking lot and also the valve cover gasket started seeping ever so slightly at 160k which I replaced myself. That Touareg took my family all over the country and never left us stranded and still ran beautifully up until the day it was wrecked. We were so impressed with it that we just picked up a 2020 Atlas 3.6 to replace it. Cheers from Brandon Mississippi
I love the Atlas! I’ve had a 3 row version, 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder with 5 passenger seating. I do like the 3 row seating version better. More space! But the 6 can pull a trailer or something? Both were SE versions. But the 3 row version, to me, looked better in appearance ! Like your version the steering wheel does have the shinny surfaces. Apposted to the flare appearance of the wheel! Plus the grill is chromed where the 5 passenger version doesn’t have the chrome appointments.
I love my Atlas. All the problems people talk about I have never experienced. Its a machine, out of 20k sold, A few will have issues, People just bash it because they think machines don't break.
Hi thank you for your great video. I’m still debating which one to buy the old 2018 for cheaper cost or the new one 2021.5 for the look and pricey I’m really don’t know but can you please tell me your experience and your opinion about those if you don’t mind. Thank you again.
I loved our 2018 for many reasons and if it were up to me I’d have just kept it. My wife drives it more and she wanted the upgrade. I miss the 2018 because we lost the v6 in favor of the 2.0t. The 2.0t power delivery is really nice but it just sounds like a sewing machine. As far as tech and features to I appreciate the 2021.5 update with the newer infotainment interface. They’re largely the same everywhere else.
lol loved your comment about the road-trip. People are so soft now. When I was a kid my family (2 adults and 3 kids) drove from CT to FL and back in a 5 seater sedan. We also drove from CT TO AZ multiple times in a mini-van. No one flew back then unless they were rich! Lol. PS my wife and I are about to pick up a 2022 ATLAS and it’s just 3 of us so I guess I went soft too!
@@suthius85 we do too. That’s why we leased them lmao. After this video we got a 2021 and put like 45k on it in 11 months and sold it for more than we paid for it lol. Didn’t go into the shop for anything but an oil change.
Most reviewers make reviews based on their opinions/bias or preferences. So, it's hard to rely on that alone. Any modern vehicle has its issues one way or the other. But, how many don't maintain their cars properly and then blame the makers for selling crap?
I had the same issue with suspension. The original dealer said they couldn’t duplicate and there was nothing wrong. I took to a different dealer and they replaced the entire rack and pinion. They said it’s fairly common with the Atlas.
Might be OCD? Might be? Dude you are full on OCD! Great video. Thumbs up and thank you for making and posting. 4 years & 52k miles - Radiator, head gasket, cylinder head, cat, and water pump. That tells me the resale on these is going to be sh!t. I've got a 2008 GMY Yukon XL with 240,000 miles and all we've had to replace in the alternator and an engine mount. VW is not alone in this as the German manufactures are no longer focused on building vehicles with the quality to go beyond 100k miles without major components needing to be replaced.
Lmao you caught me. Yeah the early 2018s had a manufacturing defect on the top and of the engine that caused all of that. It’s not like the car ever broke down, they just issued TSBs and mine qualified to be fixed so why not. The 3.6 has been in vws for 10+ years and I’ve personally seen them over 300k miles. Despite ours being fixed a few times for free which is apparently a big deal for some people, I loved it.
I have to say that I agree with you we got the 18 atlas del vr6 78000 mi on it with just one issue the battery hato be replaced I just change tranny fluid and all good just regular maintenance and in my opinion it’s better than most it’s been proven we are happy with it
😂 there was some manufacturing defects on the early head gaskets that caused them to leak. A head gasket replacement doesn’t constitute an engine rebuild in my book, it was in the shop for like 7 hours. It was one of the first 1000 atlas’s built, but to each their own. They give you a warranty for a reason 🤷🏽♂️
He drove around USA with that mileage. You can drive more than all roads across USA. Mileage wont win anything, not even reliability. Car is a car. Preference to each their own, to avoid these.
Is this the launch edition? I have 2018 v6 with 4motion. Over 75k miles. No complaints and runs great in 2023. I just do the sport mode always. Get around 22 mpg on highways
Nice work! Thank you for sharing your experience and opinion. Side note, I recently purchased a 2016 Touareg (no third row option, it's noticeably smaller than your Atlas) with the same VR6 engine. In the Touareg, they have proven to be very reliable. I noticed the issues you had with yours are common for the early model Atlas.. I wonder what happened there. I wish you many more happy miles!
Hi, I have 2018 SEL R-LINE Kurkuma Yellow (very very rare for R-Line in this color) just passed 20k mileages. I still love the exterior, but inside are dated compare to Telluride and others with big info screen. Anyway, I agreed on the CNL button.....i didn't knows it right away. The volume dial didn't bother me......i do thinks they steering wheel grip are on the thin side for a large car. Hope VW do a refresh interior before next model.
Crazy u had all those problems with yours. I have a 19 atlas and have over 40k miles and the only thing I had to do besides oil changes r the front brakes and rotors which was strange at 30 something thousand miles but whatever. Other than that somehow the wiring for the passenger seat airbag gets loose or whatever and will make the airbag sensor go off but anything else mine hasn’t had issues with. No suspension noises or any noises at all. The steering wheel peeling yeah but all steering wheels do that shit after awhile. I do everything with my atlas and it handles everything exactly how I want it to. My local dealer has been great on the warranty and anything that pops up either recalls or small things with my vehicle they fix and cover right away for free and my atlas has never spent more than a few hours at the dealer so u will hear no complaints from me either than agreeing that the gas tank is too small and could be at least a few gallons bigger lol. They were obviously just trying to save weight and space lol.
Yeah the 18s had some issues but that's why the warranty was so good. We had a 21 that was leased and now gone and I'm wanting a newer one in a year or so.
Great video! Curious to know why you didn’t get a minivan? I have an Atlas and kids too, and was wondering if a minivan would have provided more room and practicality for us.
As you might imagine the whole minivan stigma is real, to be honest I could never spend money on something like that. From a utilitarian perspective I get it, but the way I think a minivan has one purpose: moving bodies. I refuse to spend 40k on some front wheel drive bus with no ground clearance that only serves one purpose. AWD was a must, and I know the sienna and Chrysler offer awd but ground clearance was also a must. We live where a normal rain leaves 4-8” on the road and if there’s snow the roads are entirely untouched. The only van I’d entertain would be a 4x4 sprinter or transit. Both are huge money though.
Dealer wants me to change on my 2021 atlas bought in august 2021 46k miles Spark plugs Transmission flush Coolant flush Haldex service for rear differential Brake fluid change Is all this necessary??
My 2019 Atlas (SEL P) was purchased new in Jul 2019. Though it's almost 3 years, it's just under 17k miles. We only drive it on trips (we have a minivan and my daily driver, a jeep). It still smells new LOL. But overall, we love the car. It's my 4th VW so I knew what I was getting and what I would deal with at the dealer level. We have a great relationship with the dealership. We bought a new 2013 Passat TDi SEL P but sold it back 3 years later (diesel gate) . Really miss the MPG. My only legit complaint with these SUV's is, the fuel tank is TOO SMALL. At least a 20gal tank. Not going to change the crappy MPG but still, 18 gal is way to small for this thing.
@@flat_stickproductions209 Yeah, and we will defend the car. Just like I own a Jeep. Had it NEW since 09. It's my everyday driver. Wife drives the 2011 Chrysler minivan everyday. Atlas is our trip car. So, 2 years ago, I posted. We still have it. Has 28, miles on it now. Last trip was a "beer" run to Slidel LA from Gulfport MS. Got just south of 25mpg. It's the SEL P with a V6. Still smells kinda new LOL. Still like it. No way going to sell it back to VW who's been wanting to buy it (dealer offered me a good price last recall visit). But NOPE. Keeping it.
Incorrect. Had this car for four years and lifted it in the last 8 months of owning it, has nothing to do with it. The noise was fixed by vw long before that.
Love our Atlas. Our 2019 blew a head gasket though, and it’s AWD, so a nail in the sidewall of one tire meant replacing all tires. Oof… Otherwise decent ride, lots of room.
I really like the Volkswagen Atlas. I don't like buying a first year introduction of a new model. I like to wait a couple of years before buying. But consumer reports said not to buy because of reliability issues And there are lemon law on people who have bought the Volkswagen Atlas.
I think there’s two main “issues” that are driving people to lemon law that have occurred with mine but aren’t a big deal to me. The transmission will make a hissing sound once in a while at slow speeds. Happens when you come to a stop but not completely and it keeps you in third gear creating a lugging condition that rattles the springs in the torque converter. It’s a Toyota transmission so I’m not worried about reliability. I just think vw needs a software update to reprogram the gearing. Second is the front end noise. It comes and goes but no one has every had a failure that I’ve heard about with the front suspension, it’s just annoying sometimes. You’re going to have some that won’t put up with that complain everywhere online an CR surveys and boom 1 out of 5 reliability rating when that’s not true at all.
@@DJwessling why dont you show the dealer invoice or work done to prove or substantiate the claims or repairs you mentioned in your video? Otherwise whers the truth or false claim?
@@gardenst4398 didn’t realize UA-cam had fact checkers these days. What reason do I have to “substantiate claims” for a UA-cam video? I’m not trying to persuade or otherwise convince anyone of anything. I simply shared my experience and what reason would I have to lie? If you don’t like my experience with the atlas don’t watch the video friend, better yet, if you don’t like my experience with the atlas don’t buy one 🤡
It is not an arguement here. But anyone can say anything & no proof is provided or shown on video then how do we believe what you are saying? On the contrary if you provide proofs of dealer work done or invoice thats a genuine situation - for example TFL provided dealer work done papers for LandRover Defender & BMW i8 so we believe that channel. Many others too show the proof of work quoted or done.

I’ll never understand why people go out of their way to bring others down. Whatever. I have a 2021 Atlas Cross Sport and I love it so far. I want to get some bigger tires and lift it a little bit. Any suggestions?
I had the forge spacer lift and I wasn’t too happy with it. It does the job but I’d rather have a set of lift coilovers. I actually have a video of my OPINION on the forge spacer lift on my channel. Overall I loved the atlas. We traded the 18 for a 21.5 and I recently sold it because I made good money on it. Looking to buy a 3rd lol. People are always going to cry.
I love all the space I have. I just recently went on a road trip and it packed so much stuff in it. Thanks for the video. I’d love it if you made another one if you got another atlas.
One of our first trips was 3 adults, 4 kids, and luggage, 1600 miles. Never thought it was possible but we had so much room, and the vr6 averaged 28mpg. I’ll definitely do something when we get another. I want a custom spec ordered so it’ll probably be a while.
Please redo this video from a 5 year perspective. You are somewhat repetitive. You only need to say its your opinion at the beginning of the video, and that you are 6'3". It would be a good idea to explain to the viewers that a VR6 engine, only has one cylinder head, one exhaust manifold, and one head-gasket, and is smaller than a V6 engine. Owners really need to keep an eye on the maintenance as the cylinder-head gets much hotter than other engines, due to three of the exhaust ports having to go the entire way across the head to get to the manifold. Some mechanics may not know what a VR6 is, because it is primarily only used in a few models now from Germany. Why not take some black nail polish and cover up all those things that annoy you ?? I really think a buyer would get more value out of a Sequoia. But there is a prestigious thing about owning an Atlas. You will never find used parts for an Atlas, and so repairs will always be slow and expensive. Unless you live near several dealers ( like in a large city ), I would not recommend this for a person on a budget that lives in a small city. I do love the Atlas though.
We moved on to a 2021.5 with the 2.0t I love the power delivery but I can't stand that it sounds like a sewing machine. I totally miss the VR6 simply for the sound.
After comparing horror stories about the 2018/2019 Atlas, I ended up with a Grand Cherokee. Less space but more reliability as my coworkers atlas cross sport broke down on him right when I was considering buying an Atlas 😂
How can you say is better than a Lexus or Highlander in the same video where you mention that the Atlas has a lot of shit replaced. Under warranty or not you still have to take your car to get shit replaced and what’s gonna happen when the warranty ends. I rather expend extra on a Toyota but having the peace of mind that is gonna last forever and the only reason I have to take it to the dealership is for oil changes. And finally if I decide to sell my Toyota I know is a desirable use car that is still gonna worth a good amount
The last new Honda I bought needed a new engine at 1800 miles due to a cracked block. It has been leaking oil out of 5 spots on the block since I brought it home with 14 miles on it and discovered oil pouring down my driveway. Took them 3 months to get my car in the shop, took 3 different dealers in 2 different states for Honda USA to admit fault and cover the engine. My vws have had zero issues and all parts were replaced under recall campaigns that Vw of America chose to do due to minor discrepancies in quality control. But yeah. Stick with your Hondas. Lol.
@@DJwessling Hahaha. Sorry I'm laughing at your troubles. The only explanation I can come up with is that your Honda felt that you are a Honda hater and decided to get rid of you as an owner. Hahaha. Other than that I should mention that Honda is the best engine maker in the world. Anything from small engines to aircraft engines. Also Honda engines have won the last two Formula 1 championships , the highest class of car racing in the world. Competing against Ferrari, Mercedes AMG etc. Not to mention world titles in the past or record number of titles in the Moto GP series.
All cars come with their share of problems. Some more than others. It is scary that a newer vehicle has so many problems in the early years. I buy my cars and don’t lease. It’s scary to think what the reliability is after the warranty period. Vw back then had a good warranty but apparently reduced the warranty coverage on the newer vehicles. They probably did so because they were getting hit with so many mechanical issues under warranty and cost them a lot! I think the Reduction in warranty shows how not so confident they are in their cars not having any issues. Most reviews are on cars within their first 3 years which isn’t anything because most of the cars are fine in the early years with the exception of the one you reviewed. I like the atlas a lot and would like to get one but the reliability is questionable. If I was getting new yeah I wouldn’t hesitate. Since I’m looking to get something 2-3 years old and like to hold on to my cars for longer periods the issues I keep reading keep me on the fence. I was looking into 2020 and wondering if the problems were taken care of.

No it was perfectly fine. Even without the lift it didn’t rub.
Thank you! Appreciate it!
We have a 2018 SEL w/tech 6 seater that is awesome! We are at 56000 miles and have had 1 large repair = battery and front brakes.

Mine has 97000 no issues just recalls and the were done under warranty after that no problems so far still better than most more room
Ya, just a head gasket! Omg how hard is it to engineer an engine correctly after all these years.

Great and honest review. Really enjoyed
I feel you on the power button/volume OCD. Bugs the heck out of me too.
LOVEEED you review. It is very relatable. I am OCD AF too LOL
2018 SE/W Tech V6 4Motion, Purchased brand new 50k on it ZERO issues, very low maintenance
The radio knob was the first thing I noticed on the test drive. I get it.
Just got ours last week and so far, so good
I love my Atlas. All the problems people talk about I have never experienced. Its a machine, out of 20k sold, A few will have issues, People just bash it because they think machines don't break.
That certain machines dont break. Many also regurgitate what car media outlets tell them.
Love the Steering ratios in VWs. They are the best. Have a 15 year old Passat still not giving any reason to sell it.
VR6 seems to have a lot of issues. Get the 2.0t, it's slower but way more reliable
Good info. This Vehicle is on my short list for the next SUV/Truck im looking to get in the next year.
Hi thank you for your great video.
I’m still debating which one to buy the old 2018 for cheaper cost or the new one 2021.5 for the look and pricey
I’m really don’t know but can you please tell me your experience and your opinion about those if you don’t mind.
Absolutely, you will love it.

@DJ3W3 Definitely always an option with leasing
Most reviewers make reviews based on their opinions/bias or preferences. So, it's hard to rely on that alone. Any modern vehicle has its issues one way or the other. But, how many don't maintain their cars properly and then blame the makers for selling crap?
I had the same issue with suspension. The original dealer said they couldn’t duplicate and there was nothing wrong. I took to a different dealer and they replaced the entire rack and pinion. They said it’s fairly common with the Atlas.
I gave up after a while. The new 2021.5 we just got doesn’t have the issue though thankfully.
Bro! The volume knob ! I thought I was the only one my wife does the same thing haha
Right?!
Great information.... thanks for sharing!
I have to say that I agree with you we got the 18 atlas del vr6 78000 mi on it with just one issue the battery hato be replaced I just change tranny fluid and all good just regular maintenance and in my opinion it’s better than most it’s been proven we are happy with it
In four years you have basically had the engine rebuilt and that will conclude my watch. Thanks bro. Nice car but no thank you.
If a head gasket replacement means "engine rebuild" to you, then maybe commenting on car reviews isnt in your wheel house 🤦♂️
Is this the launch edition? I have 2018 v6 with 4motion. Over 75k miles. No complaints and runs great in 2023. I just do the sport mode always. Get around 22 mpg on highways

Needed a new water pump before 52k miles???? Not a good sign. That's a symptom of other problems.
Do you have a 100,000 mile update??
Head Gasket, Cylinder head, Catalytic Converter, Water Pump and Radiator all been replaced. Wow, thats scary for someone like me looking to buy used.
It shouldn’t be. If those issues have been covered they won’t need to be covered again. If you’re scared spend for a warranty.
Good to know. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Touareg and couldn’t remember if they had the 3rd row.
I believe I read they had a supplier issue with the builder of the engines.

Dealer wants me to change on my 2021 atlas bought in august 2021 46k miles

That's the thing about us VW owners. We come back and get more. I am also on my 4th.

The absolute worst
Head, gaskets,....nice!
Well remember is the first gen.
But still a good suv.

Owners really need to keep an eye on the maintenance as the cylinder-head gets much hotter than other engines, due to three of the exhaust ports having to go the entire way across the head
to get to the manifold.
Wouldn't want to redo it for sake of being repetitive :)

Lol.
