- This is rental car number 79 and today I'm driving the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas SE V6 with 4Motion. ("4Motion" is just VW's marketing term for all wheel drive.) This is my first ever Volkswagen rental car, so I was pretty excited to get behind the wheel. And the Atlas SE didn't disappoint! I can see why so many people love their VWs.

Stumbled on your channel 3 weeks ago loving keep up the great work
Thanks for the in depth reviews 👍🏼
Omg you found a Altas. I haven’t seen one on a Rental lot yet. Great Job again
Love this suv. My cousin has one just like it and I fell in love with it the first time I rode in it.
Jeeez that engine bay looks like it could easily fit a V12 TDI
Awesome to see rental agencies already renting these out... I'd consider one of these to replace my Grand Cherokee, most likely in the SEL Premium trim, but I'll probably never stop buying Jeeps. I LOVE how much room the third row has... I sat in one at my local auto show last month and it was pretty comfortable. As far as renting VW's, I've rented a 2016 Jetta 1.4T SE, and it was a really nice car. :)
Good job! I really like your review. Please for your next review mention the cabin noise.
Hey keep up the good reviews👍🏻😀 also what do you think of the new ram and Chevy Silverado 1500 pick ups they’re supposed to come out this year?
@1:38, that flat landscape, gorgeous.
Love your reviews this one is awesome as always, I would like to request an additional item for your review. Most vehicles with Android Auto/Apple Carplay tend to drain your phone's battery just a little bit leaving you with less battery than what you started with.
This is due to most manufactures deciding to go with USB standard 5V/1A charging. But there are some systems that do charge your phone while projecting Android Auto. If you could mention your findings it'd be pretty awesome!
Excellent review👍🏼
Thanks Mike!
Nice video!
I have one and it’s the best family car for the money! Very smooth comfy ride and plenty of space for my family of 4 with 2 kinds under 2. I fit very comfortable in the 3rd row and I’m 6’ tall. I have the SEL which is probably the best trim level
Surprised they rented one of these out already, looks pretty nice. Great work as usual! By the way, check your messages lol I sent you something with good news
Love it
I am considering one to use as my towing vehicle for when i get my new boat.
Yesterday I discovered your channel and you are doing a pretty nice job in here congratulations.
I am just wondering your story, are you renting cars because of your job, or are you working for a rental car company?
Secondly, can you give some information about your camera equipments please thank you :)
Thanks for the kind words! First off, no I don't work for a rental company. I just travel a lot for work, so I'm constantly in a rental car (sometimes as many as 3 a week). And secondly, I use a Canon IXUS 16.1. It's just a small point and shoot camera. I just started experimenting with some of the settings and I think I'm getting better images out of it. I also use a modified selfie stick to help me move the camera around the car. It seems to work fairly well. Hopefully this answers your questions. And thanks for checking out my videos!
Yo im back but what happens when you reach 100 rental cars i love your videos I'm going to be sad if you end this
If I'd seen this car in the 90s I would have been impressed
If you’re ever in Indiana I’ll lend you a Beetle Rental (entry) trim to review haha! They ending production this model year. Haven’t seen any at all @Enterprise. But we got ours from Nat’l car rental via an auction. Very interesting to see what all features they did/didn’t give to the rental trim. But like I said feel free If you don’t find one elsewhere! Free of charge and you don’t have to worry about filling the gas tank up upon return ;) I love the channel and can’t wait to see more VWs.
Thanks Eli! I'd love to check out your Beetle. I do go to Indiana a few times a year. Hopefully we can get together on my next trip. Cheers!
Third row leg room can be improved by sliding the middle row forward, noticed you didn't mention it
You're right, I didn't. Thanks for pointing that out. 👍
Why do you need so many colours on a screen?! and by the way blue is used so much because it's VWs signature colour. Good video
What mode would you put it in if you were in rainy muddy weather?
In July 2018, I purchased a VW flagship version of Teramont 530V6 (2.5T) in Shenzhen, China. While I driving to 4000 kilometers, a brake failure was found. At the same time, I found that the engine was seriously leaking oil. The whole vehicle suddenly stopped running two times so far, You have to restart before you can drive. The problem has not been completely solved by looking for manufacturers and distributors many times. This problem brings a lot of troubles to my life, and I lose my confidence in Volkswagen. This case can be used for your reference when you want to buy a SAIC Volkswagen.
Wouldn't Android Auto work with the USB port inside the console?

Sure is nice.
I agree. Have you gotten to drive it yet?
I am very surprised that VW doesn't give the Atlas standard Auto climate.
brorowcarwiz Yeah bur that makes people upgrade
If you had to choose between the Atlas and the Dodge Durango you rented before, which would you choose? We are deciding between the two to purchase.
I'd go with the Durango. I wasn't particularly impressed with the Altas. Plus, the Durango felt like it had a lot more power. And good luck!
@@100RentalCars thank you so much!
Wow 276 hp? Thats surprising but seems logical since that thing is a tank. Its huge. It needs lots of hp. The fake dual exhaust is comical to me.
flipfloplogic bad gas millage
Where is the test drive ?
does that have LED headlights?
Yes, and fog lights.
Your phone is HUGE!
HALWG51
That's what she said!
It’s underpowered and needs one of VW’s newer turbo engines with more hp. That is what 90% of the other reviewers say as well.
Other than that a good review.
Thanks for the kind words!
I think this thing needs more torque than hp. If anything, SUV (not usual car) logic should not point to turning one of these things into a super car, but rather into a truck/car with good economy and everyday drive. HP is useless if it can’t make it past at least 100,000 Miles in life expectancy.
I completely agree. Make it comfortable, reliable, and affordable, and I'll gladly buy it.
one problem i have with the screen, FINGERPRINTS ! 🤦🏽♂️
True. You know, in person it's really not that bad. My (cheap) camera seems to highlight the finger prints and the dust on the dash. It's really not that noticeable when you're in the car.
