Pereira looked nervous initially, and Khalil looked relaxed. But during the announcements, Pereira looked locked in, and Khalil looked nervous. It's all about timing.
Not taking anything from Khalil but after Alex revealed the fever, colds/infection and such, everything made more sense. I mean, he was coughing in interviews leading up to the fight, and was actually coughing harder in between rounds. There is also the latest clip of behind the scenes where Alex was having a hard time losing weight telling glover the cold is getting to him.
@@Hunyango_007 All true, but that's actually normal. Listen to any champion and you'll eventually hear them say they had lingering or new injuries going into their biggest fight. Even Khalil had to get surgery a couple weeks before fighting Pereira. It's rare to be fully healthy with a perfect camp before big fights.
@@waynzignordics it's not rare, its actually impossible to have a 100% fighter at any given night. Just a response to the nervous part, in the many champions has been of the UFC, Alex is the only one I've always heard say "I can lose the upcoming fight" he even says it back in the kickboxing days. Point is, I would never see Alex nervous fighting someone because he already made up his mind that he might win or lose and it really doesn't matter much, the izzy loss is an example. Well unless, its for a different reason like compromised body like what happened last event
@@Hunyango_007 He really does have a realistic view of the fight-game, I agree. But he still gets nervous. He said before the fight he's used to the pressure and the magnitude of the moment, but he's not blind to it. He also said Khalil was a powerful and dangerous opponent. He usually switches into "Poatan" before he walks into the arena, but I think the crowd chanting "chama" kinda pulled him out of it. He looked nervous when he entered the cage. But a minute later, he was stone-cold.
