- I have caught word from ......
that there is a candy shop in Tokyo that has been around since the Edo period, so I went to Zoshigaya to check it out.
The "Kamigawaguchiya" has been operating a store here for 235 years.
The sign proudly states "Established in 1781.
The number of "candy shops" is getting fewer and fewer in Japan.
You should definitely go there!
Kamigawaguchiya
Address: On the precincts of Kishimojin, 3-15-20 Zoshigaya, Toshima-ku, Tokyo
Business hours: 10:00-17:00

It's amazing how the lady has been working in the same small candy store for such a long time! It has probably became one with her already. Quite astonishing to see, especially since most people nowadays (including me) are constantly unhappy with their environment, moving, travelling, switching jobs etc. I can't say it's a bad thing, but it makes people like this lady all the more special. Very nice, relaxing video :)
I used to work in a candy store that sold a lot of vintage American Candy.... I would love to be 80 years old, working in a candy store just like the one in this video 💖
Thank you for the look into history!
I feel like this video is cut short :( what about the other candies?
I didn't know you channel thieves were still making videos.
Lol, WAO Corp. always owned this channel. How can they steal what's already theirs?
Charming host (like this fellow, commented about him before. He's agile and kind - with good spirit). Always fascinating to "dissect" Japanese packaging and concepts. Love the aspect of the historic candy stall. Will look out - with great enthusiasm - for more socio-cultural treasure - from this fellow, and your channel. Gentle thanks from the U.S.
Thank you very much for the kind words. I’m glad you liked the video. Hopefully, I’ll be in more in 2023!
@@BobWerley you are so wonderful host so please come back. Mayve for Shimokitazawa tour or Nippori.
they all look so good!
no outro...the video just cut off...trying to save money...
the store owner seems so sweet just like the candy!

Given enough budget this host could revive the channel I think. Keep up the good work man.
I want to see more vintage locations
And then there’s me who wants to try all of them😂
This guy reminds me of a silent hill protagonist :’)
(Very enjoyable video!)
I hope that’s a good thing! 😉
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I want to try that first candy sick! Was it Okinawa black sugar on the outside?
Does anyone have Google Maps link for this store? I can't find it haha
